  • In this video I'll show you how I installed a WindRestrictor wind deflector on my 2007 Saturn Sky. This kit also included the Extreme Lighting Kit and I show how to wire it up to your running lights.

I installed the windrester in my xlr and very disappointed of the result. I'm 6 foot and still have to wear a hat. Further more I did get it at a discount for xmas sale choose to keep the price down and purchased it without the light kit, later changed my mine that is were I became dissapointed with the Windrestrictors $35 + shipping for a led strip a bundle of water and crimp connectors, Breaking down the acutall cost : 2 dollars any color led strip I chose 4 differnt colors the wire was 3 dollars, I can understand wanting to make a profet but that is just.... But! what really gaulled me was the shipping. I realize that some of thier custmers would not know what a nut and bolt or how to loosen to tighten, or even own a solder gun but to blindly accept that gouge is simply unmanageable. Hope this is some advice take it or not!

Followed your video and their directions.... ends of etching don't light, gap at bottom show light with panel down as far as it goes, LED strip seems too long for the rabbet in the panel... called wind restrictions 5 times with no call backs... any ideas to fix my issues ....

Nice job Mike. Glad I found your installation. I'm doing my girlfriend's solstice tomorrow. Shouldn't have much problems after viewing your install.

Been thinking if getting one of these for a while. Does it make a difference? I'm only 5'2" and I sit low enough that I would think it would make a world of difference. Before I spend the time and money I'm just curious if it does eliminate the hurricane that blasts me from behind.

Looks good. I had one from ebay that you attach using screws already on the Sky, but it was a very tight fit and made it more difficult to raise and lower the top. This sits completely inside the car, so you'd have no issue like that -- but it looks like it would cause a lot of issues looking back through the mirror since you'd have both windows, distorting what you're seeing a bit, not to mention the glare from the LEDs. Has that been an issue at all? Also any issues with stability at highway speed? The one I had never had any issues - so I'm guessing this one is probably a lot more stable than you'd think just based off velco strips. Anyways, was a really interesting and well done video - I thought the running of the wire would be a pain but you made it seem a lot easier than I'd have expected. Thanks!

I just installed this on my Solstice and the lights aren't working. I do have power to the module because the red light is on, but the remote light has only flashed a few times. My batteries test good. The buttons on the remote don't click or anything. Are they only touch sensitive?? Thanks for the video!! It was right on the money for my 07 Solstice.......

As always Mike nice addition. Been looking for a while now to add the wind restrictor from WindRestrictors for my Solstice as I like the idea of the light kit. Looking forward to the test drive. Keep up the good work

Awesome job. Thinking of getting one of these. Did you remember to reattach your tensioner strap to the bolt that the trunk liner attaches too?
