- In this video, I'll go over some of the previous mods that I've done to my 2007 Saturn Sky and let you know how they're doing and if they are holding up. Here are some of the manufacturers of the mods that I've done.

Mike have you thought of upgrading to a RedLine? I am so happy with mine especially after the Stage 2 addition.
The prices are quite reasonable @ the moment. I think they will be moving up in the near future as car prices continue to climb & the decline in car sales as SUV take over the market.
Sports cars will become scarce & those who want one will need to pay more. The Kappa vehicles are holding their value. Check out the prices on the 2017 Miata & Fiat 124 Spider they are falling very fast. They have dropped to around the same price or lower than a 2008 Sky RL, showing how Kappa prices have stabilized. And there is a demand for them.
Just a thought as you are talking about spending money on upgrades. The RL has all of the details that you have mentioned.

I could go Redline....but what fun would that be? All the mods and work would already be done...lol. Plus, if you've been following my channel, I'm now adding a turbo to my 2.4 so I'll now have a custom Redline :)
Hi Mike...! I think if you're looking for the race car or stock car Look you have nailed it... This is my preference only ...and I don't want you to get offended in anyway ...I have the same color Saturn 2008 Turbo . .I would not have went the route that you as far as looks I think the black rims take away a lot of the bling of the car... I love the interior I just wouldn't a went with the red because a lot of the Saturn's have read already from the factory... I did get the Stage 3 tune from rpm... and I installed the 3" charge pipes It has more power than that the car can handle and I can stand at a 140 plus mph.... Thank you for doing these videos I really enjoy watching your channel because you do all the blood and sweat for the the viewer so we could make the right decision the 1st time without making any mistakes...Bob!
Thanks Bob. And you're right. I was looking for the race car look. Unfortunately, when I bought my Sky, I didn't realize there was a turbo version. I was just looking for a convertible with a manual transmission. My search never brought up a Redline and I wasn't all that familiar with the Kappa platform. My bad. But even though it's a 2.4L base model, I still love it and have lots of fun with her. Someday I'll do something about the engine (add a turbo or LS Swap). As for the wheels, I always liked black wheels (the particular ones in the video are my autocross wheels....I have the stock ones also plastidipped black too). Besides red, I was thinking of choosing blue for the interior, but at the time, red products were more abundant....especially for the engine components. Congrats on your Stage 3 tune. I've heard a lot of good things about it. And to be honest, my butt would be puckering up at 140 in this car. It's shaped like a brick and I heard it gets a bit unsettled when reaching those speeds. I also wanna say it did a 140 before the tune so I have no idea what is going to do now

Your sky looks so good with everything you’ve done to it. Best Kappa interior I think I’ve seen - and not overdone with alcantera everywhere either!
Thanks for the compliments. Anytime I do a modification, I try to make it look as much as OEM as I can. You comment makes me think that I was successful :)

Watched the turn signal replacement. Without it,I would probably have a box of parts.wery helpful
Mike, a light paint polish and spray wax will do the trick on your trim. I would keep them waxed anyway to protect them from the sun and skin oils
Once again Mike, Thanks for all the videos you've done about all things "Sky". They have been both informative as well as entertaining. I've only done a few minor mods to my 09 Ruby Red special Edition such as the Magna Flo dual exhaust system. What I am most interested in changing and I think maybe you might too is the dash gauge faces and lighting. I went on the Black Cat site and they have some interesting gauge face choices. I find the factory ones that came with the car hard to read just about anytime of the day or night. I kind of like the white LED upgrade one but I wonder how well they would show up in the daytime. Anyway, if you ever do this upgrade, I would love to see how complicated it is to do. If it's too much for me to handle I'm sure I could find some custom shop who could that it. Hi Lance....and Merry Christmas to you and your family too. The Black Cat gauge face has been a mod I've been wanting to do since I purchased my Sky. But it always gets put in the back burner (probably because of how much work I'm guessing it will take...lol). If and when I do decide to change them (I also like the white LED) I'll definitely make a video of it. Thanks again for watching my videos. I appreciate it.
I just ordered the complete Turbo Kit from RPM for my 2007 Saturn Sky. I am hoping it will make it a more enjoyable car.
I'm sure you're gonna love it. Martin Scott at RPM is great guy with great products. I used his company for my Stage 2 tune before I went turbo.
Let me know how that works out I thought about getting it for my redline :)))

Hi Mike! Love your videos, you're giving me lots of ideas. I bought my 2007 Sky back in June to replace my 1997 Honda DelSol that I bought brand new and kept like brand new. On September 9 2019 someone decided they needed the complete interior of my car, and I mean complete! plus the front bumper, targa top and trunk lid more than i did. that's how they found it on September 11 2019. So now I have my Sky with 28,000 miles, now with 32,000. It had no floor mats, I really like the ones in this video, could you share the URL of where you got them? I also learned what the hole is for next to the dimmer switch, maybe the fog light switch is behind the dashboard possibly the clips broke on the switch.
I'm thinking about the wind deflector, fixing the cup holder so far.

Yep. That temp is fine. As long as the fan comes on at the higher temps, you're good. Mine usually kicks on around 208-210 then the temps drop down to 190s.

That's up to you. I've seen many people do that windshield surround area and it looks good. For my silver, however, it matches the car anyway so I kept it silver for that reason and to contrast with the black. That's the beauty of this car. You can go so many different ways with it.

Thanks for the update. Could you provide a link for your cellphone dash mount and how you got it to attach to the location you have it now?
Hi Sean. I bought that at Walmart for I think $15.00. It was in their Cell Phone area. It's basically a magnet that has a mount with double sided tape to stick on the dash. It then comes with a metal piece that you put on the back of your cell phone that sticks to the magnet.
@@MikesHouseOfMods thank you. I remember when you were applying the new dash appliques, you were not happy about having to remove the mount. Is it a 3M product, and how well is the tape laying with the heat, sun and autocross ventures?

I have had very good performance from the Anker line for the last 3 years.
@@SeanPamer You're welcome. It's probably 3M tape. I came already attached to the mount and it's been on there ever since with no problems. The heat, cold, and direct sunlight haven't caused it to move at all.

You missed one - your wide angle mirror on the side mirrors! Like em? I've got round ones on mine but I feel I need to reposition the passenger side
Thanks for the reminder. That was one of the first things I put on when I bought my Sky. I had them on a few of my past vehicles too. My Explorer has them built in. And yes, I do like it. I'm not a fan of the round ones. I like the rectangle ones that have a very wide view. I don't have one on the passenger side, though.
For the Plastidip, have you tried using the Pre-Dip Spray (to clean that area) and the Dip Coat protective spray (to remove the streaks and make it look more black) from DipYourCar?
Yeah. I did the whole regular wash, Pre-Dip Spray, dry it...dry it again....wait 24 hours....light coats to start followed by heavier coats....and it still came away from that area. And I have the Dip Coat spray as well. People on DYI site suggested for me to use less of it to remove the streaks. So I barely put some on and it still streaked. I honestly think it has something to do with the Shadow Black paint. My wheels (which are dipped with regular black from a rattle can) don't streak at all.
Well that sucks. There has to be chemical/oil in that area that is causing the lifting issue, but with all the cleaning you've done you'd think it would have resolved it. It's not like there is anything behind that area (like the exhaust) that would cause it to lift. Keep up the content, I have 07 and 08 Sky Redlines (both silver).
I need a new convertible top for my sky any recommendations for where i could buy it for a good reasonable price?
That's a tough one. I've heard some people use local upholster shops, but I would suggest joining the various Sky/Solstice Facebook groups and ask there. Sometimes people who have totaled their cars will part them out (including the top). Just do a Sky or Solstice search in Facebook to bring up the groups you can join.
