- It seems everyone is talking about the new Netflix series "Making a Murdered." It's the story of Steve Avery's 2007 murder trial. News 3 sat down with one of Avery's attorneys, Dean Strang, to talk about the documentary, the trial and the aftermath.
There is something paced and sincere about Dean Strang that is genuinely striking. He is a credit to his profession, and our country.

Dean Strang seems like the kind of man that has cried countless times at the thought of how crippled the justice system is and how helpless he truly is in trying to fix the problem. I think the overwhelming majority of us feel his pain. I have the utmost respect for this man.

He sues the department, and then all of a sudden hes the prime suspect in a murder case? And even though he was innocent for the 1985 crime they still treated him like he was guilty and had no remorse for what they did. It doesnt even take an education in law to realize something is super fishy about this.
I know.... I like how a few times in the case these assholes still hinted at the possibility of him being guilty for the 85 rape. Unbelievable
+rpiller yea those 3jurys that were adamant of Steven Avery's guilt just happened to be related to some members of the Sheriff's Dept. if I'm not mistaken 1 was the dad if the deputy sheriff, another the spouse of the clerk at the sheriff's dept. the last one I can't remember. tho one of the jurys mentioned the confession of his nephew even before it was revealed to the jurys. so the jury was tainted & in conflict of interest.

+Mike Roberts That was what my husband & I were saying. The keys totally should have her DNA & most likely a couple of her family members & or even her ex-boyfriends. I know my keys have & car are full DNA of every member of my family & some of my friends. So not having anyone else's including the owner DNA on keys is very disturbing & opens Pandora's box to believe tampering was is involved.
100% innocent. not a single doubt. The guy was framed. Who kills someone and parks the vehicle in your yard and leave the keys in your room. everything in the case is fishy.
I really think steven avery is innocent!! And so is brenden dassey poor guy got twisted up in this drama. I am so mad & grossed two innocent men in jail. I pray that something good comes out of this documentary. Social Media is so huge right now and i have a good feeling the people who pulled off this BS something will bite them in the ass. Let's all see how it goes

After watching the Series, I am most certain the victim was killed by the cops or that ex-boyfriend... "umm, 99 toyota?" and then gives a look like deer caught in the headlight... (This cop needs to be investigated further... I have a bad feeling about this effin cop)
I'm glad that there are still some good guys like dean out there. He is definitely someone I'll follow and buy books on...
the only people who believe they are guilty are those he have shit twisted... guilty until proven innocent mind set and its the other way around. the only way you could watch all this documentary and still think they did it is if you wanted them to be guilty. PERIOD
I strongly believe in the innocence of Steven and Brandon I also believe that there will be justice and I will pray for the Avery's Family.
God bless you I cannot imagine going through something like this it breaks my heart. I believe that the documentary on Netflix is accurate I believe that justice must be served as soon as possible and Steven Avery. Stay strong buddy God is with you and I will pray for you everyday of my life.
This reminds me of the West Memphis 3 case all over again! This time the setting is set in another BF town in USA!
I guess the only difference lies in the fact that there are only 2 (not 3) wrongfully convicted people in this one.

I find this case heart wrenching, especially young Brendan Dassey because of his vulnerability. Defence team put forward a great case but this was a done deal. Dean Strang gave it his best shot & should be able to sleep at night but I think a large number of people will have lost a lot of sleep after watching the injustices of this case.
i don't care to see the other side. What we all saw on Netflix about this documentary is enough to say this again was a wrong finger pointing to steven & his family. It was so easy for them to point fingers at steven avery the guy filed a law suit after he got out of jail for a crime he didn't do.
Did anybody else notice the man host told the woman host to "Get more specific there" about her announcement at 11:45 , and then she gave him the death stare at 11:49 ?? She must have said the wrong thing.
Its interesting that any time Dean Strang is asked about Steve Avery's innocence that he never says that he believes he is innocent. You see him say quite often that he doesnt know if Steve is innocent but that he isnt convinced of his guilt. I wonder if this is because it may be unwise to say he is innocent when evidence exists that suggests the contrary (even if there are anomolies and suspicious circumstances around the discovery of this evidence). Or is his reluctance the result of impressions formed from working with Avery. In comparison, Jerry Buting has said in interview that he believes Avery to be innocent.
Please look at this case again, how can America allow this,

1 HUGE THING THAT EVERYONE KEEPS OVERLOOKING... remember the blood tube, well put aside everything about the tape, the hole at the top, etc.... Dean Strang is the only guy I liked in this documentary. He is just so nice and good. I felt sorry for Steve Avery and Brendan Dassey. They deserve their freedom. This whole case makes no sense.
Just finished watching all 10 episodes, I truly kept an open mind and tried to remain un bias throughout the entire series based on what evidence was shown, how Brandon was coerced into a confession because he trusted those cops as they promised him he wouldn't be in "trouble" is just as disgusting, we wonder as a society why there's such a distrust between police and citizens of this country add that with this interesting fact that more people (citizens) have been shot and killed by police then soldiers who have been killed in Iraq since 2001. This justice system is beyond duct tape and super glue, Its about money in which what? Well, first our money that the Federal Reserve freely prints regardless as it isn't fucking regulated by the government whatsoever to begin with, that's right the Federal Reserve is PRIVATELY OWNED by bankers those same psychopaths control this world. What's that have to do with Steven? Everything. The future of this country ( the world) isn't looking good for me or you or my kids vice versa. It truly makes me sick as well as the fact that 90% of people are truly clueless of the corruption that ensues on a daily basis. They think voting in this country makes a fucking difference when all political party's share the same end agenda, presidents and world leaders are nothing but "front-men" for the powers that be and their ultimate goal, a one world government. My own theory is this: I think poor Avery stumbled into something bigger than he was. He was going to win that lawsuit. I suspect there was something much darker hidden by that government. I think Avery's lawsuit in danger of uncovering some serious corruption that may not have even been related to Steven. Why else would they go to such lengths to take him down. He might have been guilty, but it's impossible to deny the corruption in this case.

While there are serious systemic failures especially surrounding conflict of interest in police investigations as well as pretrial media statements,what is pathetic is how 2 separate juries were convinced beyond a reasonable doubt of guilt in both Steven and Brandon's trials. I am dumb founded as to how these people came to their conclusions.
I think that,sadly, many people are either lazy and ignorant or plain stupid. The involvement of those officers with whom were directly involved in his wrongful conviction/lawsuit is extremely concerning but the fact that it was one of them who discovered the key in plain view after a couple of searches had already taken place by trained LEO leaves me with little doubt that this key was planted. Further is the fact that the key had Stevens DNA but none of the victims despite it being her key. This alone casts reasonable doubt on the ENTIRE case IMO. How on Earth can any intelligent person convict a man when there is such overwhelming evidence of not just investigatory incompetence but corruption?
Further, there was no DNA of the victim found in his bed room yet his was proving there was no clean up. I saw no DNA of the allegation she was killed in the garage either,nothing.I find that impossible. A bloody murder is going to leave some even micro scopic DNA and I do not buy for a moment that they did not use every tool available to search for such evidence.
The blood evidence would also be worthless to me as a juror for the simple fact they ,at a minimum, mishandled the sample by not resealing and signing it. At worse this blood was manipulated which would explain how that obvious bloody mark just happened to be left there while not a single print was found of Stevens. Who wipes away every print or wears gloves only to leave an obvious blood mark{which looked a lot like it was wiped using a q tip]?
Don't get me wrong,I do think he could have done it. There are several things that concern me such as he being the last person seen with her but I could not convict with all these serious doubts and intentional criminal acts by police. No way.
If he did do it and I found him not guilty that would be on the cops for fucking the case up with their unbelievable actions.

It just slipped her mind that the keys were found laying out in plain sight on the seventh search and who found them one of the criminals in the lawsuit who by the way, had no right to even be there. They found the bones in the fire pit days after they searched the property. If I was investigating a murder. Of course not being a professional detective. I would've done something stupid like check the fire pit first. But I'm not a professional just somebody knows when common sense should be applied.
A reasonable judge After seeing the kid and his so-called video confessions Would've stopped the whole trial and said he wanted a psychological evaluation done. This kid was telling them what they wanted to hear.
Dean and Jerry are WONDERFUL and totally renewed my faith in lawyers in general - even for being defense lawyers. I only wish Brendan Dassey could have obtained either one of them for his own case right from the get-go and maybe things wouldn't have turned out so badly. That Len Kachinsky is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Yuck.
Upon watching the documentary, how come the brother said they were grieving when they hadn't found Teresa yet? Something is fishy. and when the brother and ex boyfriend were interviewed they looked sketchy.

Serious FOULPLAY on this case! Thank God some1 like dean strang was there to defend him and bring to light all of the corruption! If anyone is still interested in the case then view my videos on the case presenting the evidence on both sides and my conclusion.
It is clear as spring water, that this man is being framed! For reasons that include the departmed of justice and the sheriff's department keeping its head above their murky waters, and the fear of financial repercussions. From all points of view, u can conclude that this is a cover up, designed in such a way, that it covers all previous mistakes. Big flaw is human capability to lie especially when their actions are questioned or their evidence. Which in this case, is always thin, or reproduced after the discovery of new flaws in their story. I just cant understand why Steven isn't free yet. And protected against those who benefit from his inprisonment! Those are the real criminals in this ongoing tragic event.

Unfortunately, as they stated in the series, it seems they explored the wrong branch during the investigation. They immediately were biased against Avery, and he became their suspect. They did not look towards the ex, roommate, other townsfolk, brothers, or the cops. The investigation was on him and by the time the attourneys drew attention to that fact it was too late to explore other options. Any other case would have ran cold.
So really, either they convict him or no one. But not only do they want to convict someone, they are biased against him. He has a history of convictions and a few false accusations against him, so many people are quick to blame him.

I'm copying and pasting this from another youtube user, THIS IS A PRETTY GOOD THEORY: Here is what happened, Bobby and Scott killed Theresa to frame Steve. They put her body in the back of her car (where her blood was found) and drove to the quarry pit and burned her body in a barrel. They burned her because they saw Steve prepping for the bonfire behind his house. They took her remains and stored them in their backyard (bone fragments were found near their house too) until the next day because they needed to wait until the bonfire was done burning so they could bury/combine her bones and ashes among the bonfire ashes. They parked her car in the junkyard and covered it with branches and debris. November 3rd, Mike Halbach and Ryan Hilgas went to the Avery place to search for signs of Theresa. They began looking around the junkyard and found her car hidden. They immediately call their friend Officer Colborn to tell him. He arrives at the junkyard off duty in his own car and follows the boys to the car. He calls in to check the plates (because he doesn't have his radio on him off duty) and makes the statement of 99 toyota because he is looking at the car. He hangs up and is excited because it appears that Avery just killed this girl. Bye bye $36 Mil lawsuit. He tells the boys they will take it from here, but they need to make sure this case sticks (what with the past conviction being overturned). So the plan to "find" the car is hashed and the boys suggest that the lady search the junkyard and give her a "starting point." Colborn allows the lady to pass police barriers and she proceeds to find the car. The police plant the key, blood, and bullet. They force a confession from a family member (Brendan). The rest is history.

Steve probably did this crime but said to his attorneys hey I did not have that key or other evidence and knew it was planted to secure his conviction so thats what they went on which really was wrong and should get a new fair trial
