Thank you for this very informativ Video! My 600 ace only has Electric start and it wouldnt start (very cold temperatur). I have a jumper pack and with that it Starts up good. As soon as i take the jumper pack off it shuts down again… How do i know weather to buy just a new battery or if the Snowmobile isnt charging the battery and the new one will be sucked out as well? I could also buy a battery charger and try to charge the battery. Does your test also work to find out if my skidoo charges the battery fine? So if the voltage Drops how do i know if it is a bad battery in bad charging of the snowmobile? Thank you!! Never been good with electrical stuff 😅

I would suspect the battery first, since the engine starts when you jump it. The test I described doesn't check to see if the system charges, but if you can leave the battery exposed when the engine is running, check voltage at the battery - should read higher than 12v (I'm pretty sure). But, if the battery won't hold a charge, then at the very least you need a new battery.
      Here what I would do:
1-Charge the battery and then let it rest for maybe an hour or 2. Should still read 12.5-12.6 volts. If not, replace battery.
2-If it holds a charge, then try to start the engine. If no start, check voltage. If voltage is less than 12 volts, then replace battery.
3-If it holds a charge, starts engine fine but then is dead the next time you try to start it, check voltage. If it's less than 12 volts, then you've got some kind of drain in the system.
4-If everything works fine up to this point, but every time you try to start the engine, the battery seems weaker, then it is not charging and there's a problem with the charging circuit on the engine.
      Hopefully, that makes sense.
