Do you know how impactful this will be on your kid as he grows up? I’m 40 now and only in the last few years have I looked back on memories with my parents that, at the time, I wasn’t happy about having to be a part of. Now I realize how gd lucky I am to have parents that taught us well and took us out and made memories. You can really see that this is lacking in society right now, your son is lucky to have you guys.
Awe thanks 😊 . It’s true, often it’s the adventures we did, that we end up remembering, and not the day to day stuff. I will read your comment to Justin. Cheers and thanks for watching! Leandra
An amazing trip. A hand winch (aka come along) carried under the seat of a wide track is a must have as you can get a machine unstuck with much less chance of breakage than jerking on it with another sled. Connect end to a tree and slowly crank it out/up. A silky, folding saw is small and much more efficient for clearing downed trees than an axe. You guys did amazing. Back in 2007, a buddy and I snowmobiled from the south coast of Labrador to Lab City and back. Water crossings and slob/slush are always a big challenge.
Thank you. We always carry a come along that we use for more serious situations. The ropes we use are kinetic (very stretchy) and therefore very gentle on machines. The 150’ rope stretches more than 30’ under load. The ropes we use are retired 13mm climbing ropes.
Wow that was a 3 episodes of pure joy . Wow . And i am impressed you brought a 2 stroke with you . Well it was just a Rotax 440 but anyways . The 503 is abit more thirsty .This kind of trip would i love to do too. Wow . The toobagons wasnt made for this kind of trips . You should used the other models with better attachments . I cant wait for the winter to begin here in Sweden too . //Thomas
Thanks Thomas! Yes, we are changing thing up for this year on snowmobiles, we were going to sell the Tundra, (we ordered a 2024 WT Skandic) but we may keep Tundra and sell the 440 instead. Better gas mileagr on the tundra. Also, we have another awesome trip in mind for this winter, that will require the best equipment. Indeed, we need to upgrade our boggans, and we hope to replace the wall tent with a snowtrekker tent that weighs only 13lbs instead of the 90+lbs of our current tent . We will see what we can afford 😅
I can recomend sit on caribou fur . Keps you warm . Its totally best. And in spring time its awsome lay on the ice when fishing . Here in northern Sweden we use it alot .
Молодцы, в распутицу поехали, на недельку раньше бы, трасса была проще. Тяжёлый маршрут, отличная погода. Холодная палатка, крутые снегоходы. Батя зачёт, мамка крутая)) сын и пёс не ныли😂
What a wonderful trip! I wonder if it is worth taking another tent that you could drive the snow machines into at night so they defrost or instead of having to clean out the tracks.
Thanks for the compliment and suggestion! One reason why we have this big of a wall tent, is because there is enough room for a snowmobile inside in case of break downs or indeed needing to thaw a machine out. We don’t really mind cleaning out the tracks as it’s part of the daily maintenance and chores. A great way to also check the bogey wheel, sliders, suspension etc. Thanks again for the support! Happy trails
