Would love a small serie on a ski doo / Bombardier élan 250cc 1971 would be sick they just ripps thrue floffy powpow and awesome in the buss lots and lots of fun! They're just like pit bike of snow machine 👌
@@gabrielqcredneck7634 I agree! I'd love to get my hands on one. Seems they are quite costly nowadays. Perhaps because everyone knows how fun they are!
Hell ya your back in force brother!! Whatever sled has Bigfoot hidden in the the sled like this one buy it!!! Seriously you should find a scorpion 440 range whip… best sled ever!! Good to see you back man.
You guys!!! Everyone like my comment to see if we can make this happen. Jeremy and 2vintage RUclips channels both got these older panthers at the same time. Let’s get them to collaborate and do a race with these units!!
My uncle had one of these old ones too. Not sure of same model/CCs but he loved it for over hill 'n dale on the fam's 200 acre farm/woods/sloughs. He even challenged me after I told him of my 600cc Polaris XLT in '95. ~ Something of the lower rev takeoff for swampin'. dunno of that myself. Before the Polaris was a hunert dollar old Cat from a pal as first sled. ~ Cleated track. yoiks! Dry snow on our small lake made many islands of snow twixt bare ice. ~ ... two up with the missus...how fun for a hunert bucks! Half mile out at other end of lake at 25/30mph I turned a bit sharp on ice...loop de loop we went. WEEEEE!...then hit a snow island sideways. We and sled dumped. ..the missus; oh my arm is broke, oh my leg is broke. pfft, she was fine...but what is that black chunka cheese out there in the dark? Oh cwap, it's the battery. (-: anyhoo, that cleated track of the day (perpendicular bars, not studs) worked ok fwd, but sideways on ice they're like skates.
HI From Canada Jeremy! I grew up with the 70's cats...Grew up at a speedway got to race sleds around the track when there were no car races at like 10 yrs old.. the neighbor was the Arctic cat dealer and we would hang around the shop all the time. Now many years later I have a Ski Doo Irondog 800 Etec. Love sleds and everything about them. Love your channel too!
Now you get to enjoy the lost art of studding a cleated track. With only about 25 hp you won’t spin the track hard enough to slice a tunnel from a broken cleat. That’s really rare on a stock lo po Panther. Tops is about 45 mph. We sold these new when I was a boy.
Nice find! Sounds like a good runner. Had one just like it about 37 years ago. Paid about $300 for it back then too. I guess they hold their value. lol. Let it snow!!!
i have a 1991 panther body is totaled i have a old xcr 440 frame, with chaincase that i am going to put most of the panther into. its going to be alot of work. im going to bore out the arctic cat 440 to a 500 and then swap it. after that i will take the shocks off the front and use them hopefully on the xcr 440. then i will mod the rear whole suspension to fit the xcr. its going to be a BIG fun project. i will post all of it on my channel. the swapping onto the xrc frame wont happen until this summer because its under snow. i will post some of me tearing the panther down though.
This video is awesome between your humor and getting the old sled back up and running it was great love old snowmobiles currently working on a old Moto ski 440
I just discovered your channel and I'm lovin it up in Canada. I'm binge watching your vids to pick up mechanical know how. I'm trying to get a 95 Skidoo Formula SS running for my kids as a Christmas present and I have 3 weeks left. Following in your trouble shooting foot steps. Please keep making these videos and I love this vintage sled episode. You are awesome!
Nice! My uncle had one of those that he rode with me while on my 1971 Skiroule RT-500. Love to see these ole' sleds come back to life. Thanks for all the great videos. BTW. That seat is sweet. Bula
been enjoying this channel for awhile and have heard all about 'theres a sasquatch' in this video somewhere... but never knew what he looked like or what size or if it was a picture or an actual 'action figure' type deal. lol.... now i know. funny thing is, i dont do instagram. i wont spoil it with a time stamp. keep fixin sleds man you make me wanna do the same
My first sled parents got me was 72 panther. I beat hell out of it for yrs only replaced belts. Finally retired it when rear cogs broke and couldn't find any
clean sled for $300. I had a '74 I think it was. Never got to 100%, sometimes ran like a beast, other times it would kind of bog down. upgraded to a 78 motoski so I abandoned the cat but for style you cant beat the old cats. This was the mid 90's, wish I had kept some of the old sleds we used to buy cheap., getting harder to find. Good luck with the sled and the covid.
should get yourself a Pro Xr 800, had one 2 winters ago. Those sleds are fun as hell, maybe a bit hard to get a hold of one in the states tho, they are pretty rare.
I grew up on them sleds man and glad to see that your getting into something that will last you. But if you still work at cad cut I got a lynks that you mite be interested in let me know. I got a brand new track if you need one for that 340
Sweet! I have a couple ski whizs with the same jlo. Those bolts for the recoil (dumb design lol) tend to come loose. I usually use a little smear of loctite. Also check for any air leaks... Those engines can't have any... or they will blow up unfortunately. Anyways great video. 👍

Did you end up selling the Polaris 800 assault switchback? And is mike and Travis gonna be making an appearance once your covid passes if they’re not busy cause everyone has a life outside of RUclips anyways love the content missed your camping videos but loving the tinkering ones too friendly and informational
339 time stamp found the grizzly Jeremy. I could be wrong but I'm thinking the last video it's been a while you're going to give something away if you found it?
I got a 92 wildcat 700 for free for You if You wanna pop over to New Hampshire... We about 35 minutes or so from Laconia.. Needs some work and is mostly there... carbs are off and clean... ran on gas down the plug holes..... Let Me Know.
I actually never heard of him until a couple days ago when another viewer mentioned he just got this sled. Looks like he does some awesome stuff! Pretty crazy we uploaded almost the same time. I bought this sled last year and had it sitting in my garage waiting to make this video with it. Lol
No One who has or does work on gas powered engines says ridiculous things like "Don't put gas down the spark plug hole it'll damage it" Or something similar. They haven't got a clue as to what getting an old or difficult machine to first fire when cold or after sitting for years. Armchair mechanics. I will say of course it's not ideal and it's not measured etc but it's not going to cause big problems from doing it. What do they think a Primer is on those older sleds?? It literally a little rubber button that you push a few times for that very purpose! Old cars used to have little built in cups on them so you could prime them on first start. People.
*Correction: 1971 Panther! Want to see more vintage sleds come through the channel? Any sleds in particular I should be searching for?

Nice to have you back jeremy. We missed you.
That seat is bad ass. May need to upgrade my cat. Looking forward to seeing the old girl on camping mission.
Yeah, I may do leopard print on all my sleds now......Lol
I loved both the snowmobile hunting videos
When in need, a rope and the primary clutch make an excellent recoil...minus the "re" part 🤣😂
I recently sold off the Last of my 63 Vintage Cats. Range from 1969 to 1981. Even a few that were still in Factory crates, (never opened).
Missed these videos, started watching 6 years ago when I was 12 now im 18 dam
Jeremy, can you please do another “buying every old sled I see” vid. Last one was sick man 💪
I’ve got a 70 634 panther widemouth 71 399 Koehler and a mint 72 399 Kawasaki awesome to see these sleds gain some popularity with younger people

The cogs on these were probably made of cheese to be honest. I think that's why he didn't drive it in the video and when he revved it it didn't move.
