    Thanks for the explanation.. I wish I found your video before my first time using my new Graco prox19.. I used an fflp tip in the guard that had the bigger holed seal.. that's my fault for not reading the paper.. my sprayer was seeming to have inconsistent pressure.. I'm guessing it's because I had the wrong seal.. I thought something was wrong with the machine.. in the next day or so I'm going to change the seal and spray water through it and see if that fixes the problem.. thanks for your video 👍. So I just read the paper in the tip package.. and I don't see where it specifically states that the seal needs to be changed.. it shows a diagram of how to put a seal in but not the importance or different that distinguishes a fflp seal to a regular seal 🤷🏻‍♂️. So looks like you're the main one helping your customers by explaining that detail to them 😊

      Yup, that's gracos lack of communication skills, if it were me I would have had a picture of both seals on the package with a green check mark and red x corresponding to the style of tip, just to get the painters attention, I have a bin with 2 style of tips and 2 style of seals on the ready, I spend 30-45 mins a day telling 2-3 people, so thanks graco :s

    What's the store name and is any located in Florida

    • @Sprayman-vy2en
      @Sprayman-vy2en  3 года назад

      I can't recommend just any store, go to a dedicated repair shop, if you go to a regular paint store they won't stock tips like they should, once you find that special store, build a relationship with them, it will help when you have to buy a new machine and you need a tutorial, it's all right there.

    Ohhh. lol. So what if I have purchased a new Blue Guard with a new FFLP210 RACX fine tip? Is that guard a smaller whole circumference? I was wondering why I was putting out more product than usual. definitely changing this seal now. -> Thanks.

      As I tell my customers "let's say you use it right, and spend $50,000 a year in paint, 10% of that is $5000, a trip to hawaii" I'm glad you found this useful.

    I've worked with Graco's RAC X FFLP tips, but I'm unfamiliar with Titan's HEA tips. Does Graco's ability to change the seals extend the life of the tip, compared to Titan? And is Titan's self contained seals make it more durable or less?

    • @Sprayman-vy2en
      @Sprayman-vy2en  3 года назад +3

      There are FFLP tips and LP tips which are low pressure (LP) but without the fine finish ability, the HEA are equivalent to LP. The fine finish purple tips from titan aren't low pressure but offer finer atomization, and with titan tips you don't have to worry if you have the correct seal in the guard. The seals just provides a sealed pathway for paint, some guys only change them when need be, the only way to extend the life of your tip is to adjust the pressure until you got the solid fan, if you set you pressure to max that will wear out your tip

    Hi, have couple questions.
    What do you recommend on new smooth doors, fflp graco or purple titan?
    I just bought a 408 purple titan tip and a guard combo, in the package is just a plastic seal and it is loose,doesn’t stay in the guard. Is it normal? All graco tips comes with rubber seal and never had a problem.
    Thanks.

      If you align the Tip seal in the titan guard with the Tip in there, it will keep it in place when you screw it onto the gun.
      Titan doesn't have that issue with the seal, the magic is done inside the titan Tip, there are pluses and minuses, Titan purple atomizes particles finer than Gracos FFLP but operates at regular pressures resulting in same amount of overspray, whereas graco FFLP operates at lower pressures, assuming you have the right seal in the guard, which will result in lower overspray, higher pressure = higher amount of overspray.
      Also keep in mind, when you buy a titan extension with the guard, it doesn't have a seal in there, so complain to titan, and keep the Seals you don't use, you don't have to change them everytime, but again if you're using gracos FFLP tips use the right tips seal, I educate 2 customers every day, it is very common if you didn't know that, and don't feel bad

    What kind of spray tip do l need to use to spray a floor enamel paint for line painting

    • @Sprayman-vy2en
      @Sprayman-vy2en  3 года назад

      Ask your paint supplier for what is called a 'data page', and start collecting in a binder, it will guide you on what tip to use, but will only tell you the orifice size, which is the last two numbers, they won't say the first because you could be spraying wide or narrow, line lines vs stenciling

    No one ever talks about it and they are awesome but if you have a fine finish tip and your only running a 390 smaller pump you have to run those green or purple fine finish tips all the way on high pressure or they tail out and look like shit , with a bigger pump that can handle it or is more designed for low pressure is ideal for those but most guys just have small regular sprayers no air compressor sprayers

    where to buy the seal from?

    • @Sprayman-vy2en
      @Sprayman-vy2en  3 года назад

      Go to a repair shop or at least call ahead to a regular paint store, I've notice non-repair stores don't carry all you need, they come five in a pack. Also, when you buy a tip, keep the extra, don't change the seal unless I starts to leak.

      Sorry, I do these on a whim when I notice it's a common problem, if it were my own business then I would put some time aside, this is like a remote assistant, plus I tell my customers who I show in person to go refresh their memory by watching these vids, if you stumble across this channel great, but that is the reason for amateur recording, its just about the message, not about presentation for clicks, but thanks for watching
