Great info gents. Long time residential painter (unprofessional) walls, ceilings, baseboard and crown, the old school way with masking off and brush and rollers. I just bought a new home and will be buying the 1700, based on your videos. Thank you for that. Never sprayed before, but always appreciated that glass like finish. Cant wait to get started spraying for the first time ever. Thanks again, for the videos, content, and inspirational and confidence building videos!!!
like and respect your professionalism, not to mention sharing all your experience for free. you guys rock. regarding guages: i just start at a low number pressure and raise pressure slowly spraying on a piece of cardboard until the gun does'nt finger any more. works best for me .
Chris gave me a HEA tip when he was in the UK last week at the SPRAY-TECH Academy in Preston we spent a whole day spraying lots of different products , on trim and walls with different spray units , i have been spraying since 84 professionally and i learned a new trick or two , many thanks .. using the tip next week on a job .. jack frost
these tips as well as the gracos new ff low pressure tips are amazing. I like gracos a little better inside becaus I like using ff tips on walls. They are expensive but not when you consider the savings. You can save a ton of paint and the tip lasts much longer at the low pressure. I wouldnt say the instantly make a novice a pro but they do help the learning curve. The feathering helps bad strokes.
Best demo ever; thanks, with my 840 there's a gage at the unit and now I have one on my gun, therefore I can see any drop with added hoses and adjust as needed for gun head pressure. Good stuff men, thanks. Joseph….GreenHeart
My understanding is that the gauge must be installed vertically as opposed to horizontally, at least if it ia oil filled as is mine that came with a Titan Impact 400 in Australia.
I noticed you guys prime your tape with caulk which is awesome, and laser straight. I am curious as I have never used a sprayer, whether or not you are also using that method when you spray? Thanks for the awesome videos. I watch daily!
I have a Titan 400 mainly spray doors and trim only have been using red 311 which produces good results. I tried the HEA 211 and 311 and seems my material wants to sag very easily. Have you experienced this with HEA tips ever. Thanks for all your great videos.
So, I have been dropping my pressure down to just above fingering for 30+ yrs now and I don't see how this is any improvement on that... nice trick though...
curious question. Why not just put one gauge at the end of the hose, rather than two gauges, since the end of the hose pressure seems o be all that matters?
I can't see that the guages are needed if the pattern goes from fingering to feathered as the correct pressure is reached. That pump setting can be marked or noted for each paint type and hose length.
@@Idahopainter Had it in my cart. And it sold out! Supply chain issues are nuts right now! Heard both this and TriTech T5 are the best at airless fine finish. Looking forward to seeing you go over the details.
Thanks for all the videos. Been binge watching the last few days as I'm getting ready to paint my garage. Just picked up a used(1.5yr old) Titan 640 for $700 because I wanted the digital readout. Also picked up the Titan Pro-RX gun, 20" extension, and the rac X 310 fine finish and 517 tips. Do you think these Titan tips are better than the Rac X tips? I'm brand new to using an airless so curious on your thoughts.
armyguy209 I think the 310 and 517 rack X tips you have will work just fine. However these new tips from Titan (HEA) and Graco (FFLP) are meant to be shot at 55% less pressure than The original Rac X black tips. I spray the FFLP tips around 1250 psi on my Graco 490 and it also produces a finer finish. I only own FFLP tips. Spring at lower pressure has several benefits including prolonging the life of your sprayer, less aerosolized particles,
Great` video! If you were to use an HEA tip inside to do quite a bit of trim and raised panel wainscot (its en enclosed bar area), how much "fog" would you expect? Its a repaint, same color, semigloss using C2 Cabinet & Trim, Im thinking probably a 311 tip. You mention in the video that they arent really fine finish tip, would an HEA tip even be appropriate for that?

See those blocks under the shed? Those have nothing to do with leveling. They are there to hold and distribute the weight of the amount of paint on the shed. Just bought this system tonight and using it tomorrow night. Question, can I leave the gauge on the pump and just set the pressure to the top of the green with a 50’ hose? Rather not have it on the spray gun if possible
Good video. looks like too much work It seems easier to just bring that pressure up a touch as needed to get rid of that fingering and just get it where it should be

Think both of you guys missed the point of the video, they used the gauges to figure out how much extra pressure they needed to use in order to run these type of tips correctly with extended lengths of hoses.

Hello, I bought a Wagner Flexio 590. I sprayed on one my ceilings and held it on one spot too long. Now I have a sag pretty noticeable. How do I repair it on the ceiling? Thanks in advance
so they Don't like the gun gauge in the way, they don't like the heavy drops finish, and it still fingers with a 100 ft hose ,need to pressure above the green zone . Add your extra long gun extension and find it spits ...so the over spray is less? So the Question? do you like it?
I’ve tried both, pretty much same thing , lower pressure bigger droplet size, I tried spraying walls on a new house, it’s really slow , also you must apply heaps of paint to fill pin holes that comes with the low pressure, I prefer just the regular graco blue ltx tip for walls ,

Stop wasting time with those gauges. Adjust the pressure until the spray pattern looks good and don’t think about the formulas and equations of hose length, material, nozzle and height.
And you owe me $25 for the pressure gauge too!! Total sham marketing for profit. The $45 tip doesn't work at all. Hope you made lots of money from Titan.
Haha! Sounds like someone who just doesn't know how to operate a sprayer. The HEA tips much like the racX(graco) are great! The guage is for reference. More So for a newb. The tips work flawlessly as expected when used correctly.
I dont see whats so special about these. Flat tips virtually eliminate overspray and cost $5. I have no idea why more people dont use them. I switched from RAC x and now only carry 1 drop cloth instead of like 10. Theres more "overspray" from the roller when im back rolling than the actual sprayer. If youve never tried one itll blow yo mind
Dude those spray tips are they worst that ever came on the market. 517= 10inch fan their having a laugh 7inches at best and you also have the equivalent of swimming pool building up on the tip guard along with endless spitting that even a clean shot can't solve.
You owe me $45 for the tip. Me and my guys tested it and it causes more overspray than any other tip. You are pimping Titan for profit, and I am going to SW to demand my money back for a worthless tip based on your advice. I'm so mad.
You sound like a typical snowflake. Knock it off. Nobody owes you shit. You need to learn how to use a sprayer and the right tips and pressures for each application. An hea tip can't fix that. A graco fflp can't fix that.

Stop wasting time with those gauges. Adjust the pressure until the spray pattern looks good and don’t think about the formulas and equations of hose length, material, nozzle and height.
With 100 ft of hose 1500 psi at the machine will give 1000 psi at the gun. 1250 with 50 ft of hose

Haha! Sounds like someone who just doesn't know how to operate a sprayer. The HEA tips much like the racX(graco) are great! The guage is for reference. More So for a newb. The tips work flawlessly as expected when used correctly.
Wider tip maybe
Sorry will get it right soon
It loose 250 each 50

Right now I'm just using the paintbrush in a roller
I dont see whats so special about these. Flat tips virtually eliminate overspray and cost $5. I have no idea why more people dont use them. I switched from RAC x and now only carry 1 drop cloth instead of like 10. Theres more "overspray" from the roller when im back rolling than the actual sprayer. If youve never tried one itll blow yo mind

Thanks for watching Alexander!
GRACO 100%%%
I was trying to get this titan gun so greco 210es.is much better?
You are experiencing friction loss
Possibly
Dude those spray tips are they worst that ever came on the market. 517= 10inch fan their having a laugh 7inches at best and you also have the equivalent of swimming pool building up on the tip guard along with endless spitting that even a clean shot can't solve.
Why not just use a flat tip as far as overspray use a finer tip sounds like a whole lot of waste of money flat tips 4 buck reverse tips 25bucks
Wrong title
So they will work with a titan rx 80 gun with the housing that comes with it?
Yes
