I'd be curious how far apart the aneurysms were. I had one in twenty twelve. They told me if I survived 3 years after that my chances would go up for not having another one. What do you think? How far apart were his?

Based on binge watching this channel and reading comments, it seems cirhosis isnt the death sentence we were all told it is.. seems if you stop drinking you have a good chance of making it
@@yppakcaasi5396 So, true. Reading your positive post made my day. I am going through the same liver issues. I always count my day's becuz the Dr said "I only have 2 years". I get scared when I sleep but count my blessings when I wake up. Its a new me and a new beginning. I drank on and off, ate sweet n sour gummies, drank when I got miffed. But now, I have changed my diet no salts sugars, dairy. I just lik c food. haven't touched a drop of any kind of alcahol/wine since diagnosed feb 2023. Tks for reading.😎🇬🇧
They can't tell from one person from the next. If you do the research, it says 2 to 12 years and some go 15 years if you have no other underlying health issues? My Dr. G.I. doc said that you can not heal the scars. Adventually the scars become too much and the liver ca t function correctly and begins to shut down. I too am living with cirrhosis, without a transplant or a miracle from God, we will Adventually die from the cirrhosis and we are at a much greater threat for liver or pancreas cancer. It is sad, no one wants to face the end of our life. I'm 64, and I still want more years. I just pray and ask the Lord for help. I'm sorry for your pain and heartache 💔

LD. This story is so sad! My late wife died from liver disease due to alcohol abuse. The spineless doctors made me tell her she was dying. Horrible. I feel for you and so glad ypu are still with us.
Hello Bob. I am so sorry for your loss and the fact that you had to give your wife that horrible news. I am so very sorry. Thank you for sharing. God bless❤❤❤❤
Dude you really are an inspiration for me to stay sober. I cant thank you enough. It brings me to tears if I think about my kids losing me. Youve been through the ringer and now you stand tall and offer hope. Thank you and may you have an awesome fathers day weekend coming up!
I just cry every time I hear this story...it's identical to my deceased son. They said "maybe a year....if you're lucky" He has a child that turned 18 one month before his death. I have custody of my grandson and he is depressed but hanging on. I say this to reiterate what LD is saying. My son, Ron, lasted a year and half but gave up half way through because he had it with Dr's. He was to get a liver biopsy and a groin biopsy...but he blew it off. He blew off blood work, and more. Listen to LD. He knows the ropes. I pray every day for him, that God will keep him going so he can be that light up on a hill! LD YOUR STORY, THO SAD, IS BRINGING HOPE TO MANY.
Thank you so much for the prayers ronsmom! I know that it's tough for you to share these things about Ron, but I know that it will help someone put there. I'm sorry that my story makes you cry, it has to be so tough. Thank you so much for the prayers! God bless❤❤❤❤❤❤

That news wasn’t delivered the right way. You should have been advised by a liver specialist. You and/ or your wife should have been briefed all the while and you should have been able to have a second opinion. Be assertive from here on out with your healthcare…it can be the difference between life and death

It sucks, the way we are told such horrific news. I was and still am thinking of that dreadful day when I was diagnosed. I wasn't told in a room but in front of everyone. I was grieving. Plus, I am also 44 years old and I really enjoy talking about the past with people lol. Things were a lot funner back than it seemed. Great video.👍
I am a certified nurse. What , I learned over the years, is, that you never, ever give a prediction to people. I've seen it all. Give them a year, they die in a month. Give them a month and they could recover. Who am I, to hand out timing sheets? Not my job. At all. Although, I get that " I nwant to know" - part. Dont we all want to know? Fact is, I want to get old, but if thats my fate, I could have a stroke, or accident tomorow and die. Nobody knows , what time we have. Therefore use it wisely, if possible, we never know. ( L.D. Just to add , to the power, you have , my friend. To not drink, after that horrible diagnosis , takes some very hairy balls. Cudos, to that)
Thank you so much for saying that my friend! I really appreciate you sharing this too! I really believe you are right, telling someone that can really make things so dark. It was really hard to get out of that funk after hearing that news. God bless❤❤❤❤

When I was diagnosed the doctor, not my regular doctor came out told my husband I had Cirrhosis and I needed to stop drinking. I don’t drink at all. Sone doctors should not make assumptions.
I still get the side eye from doctors. I have PBC. It’s rare, mostly attacks women 50+. So many blood tests to get that diagnosis. Now I’m trying for the TIPS procedure but insurance is making that difficult by denying the tests to make that happen.
My sister in law also did not drink and had cirrhosis. She did drink tons and tons of pepsi. Regular , all that sugar is not good. But she was told a year but did not make 9 months.
I am so sorry that happened Judy. You are right. Not all liver disease is caused by drinking. That's just not ok. Thank you for sharing! God bless ❤❤❤❤

The song "I am not okay" by Jelly Roll is kind of what this videos content reminds me of. I just listened to it for the first time, and in my opinion its powerful song for all of us here that are sick.

Beautiful video. You're so right. It takes us a while to realize what's truly important in life. John Kabatt-zinn always says 'if you're like ving and breathing there's more right than wrong with you'. Thanks for a lovely video xx
That was really quite a story! Once again, we're all glad you're here and doing better now, and that the doctor's initial prognosis was wrong. I've seen many people go on living for many years or even decades after being told by doctors that they don't have much time left. I think mental strength is what keeps them going, and its what keeps you going as well. You want to be strong for your wife and kids so that you can continue to be in their lives for as long as possible. Oh and you're right about health being the most important thing in life. Without your health, no amount of money or material possessions will matter. Live your life, take care of yourself and loved ones, and just hope for the best because it's all you can really do in this life! Thanks LD and God bless! ❤
Thank you so much David! I have heard so many stories of people being told that they don't have much time left, only to live for years after that. And your health, is your life!!! Without it, nothing else matters. Hope you are having great day my friend! God bless❤❤❤❤
Our old area is swampy. We get mosquitoes, yellowflies, horseflies, ticks, and gnats. I hate Carolina Bugs. I can't imagine man the sress, fear and hopelessness of what the doctors said. You are keeping yourself healthy. I ran into a rough spot, which you might have seen, but I am glad you are still around. I don't like being newly sober again, but at least it is sobriety. I'll look at this six months from now and I am sure I'll feel even better. I admire you and think you are really doing well. Great video!

Hi. I really appreciate your videos, and I find them relaxing. Has anyone ever told you that? I have NAFLD due to an autoimmune disorder. Today is an important topic, and I'm glad that you're still here. How do you find something to discuss every day? I find that impressive.
Thank you so much! I have heard that before, from a lot of people.... I never knew that about myself until doing this channel. I am so sorry that you are dealing with nafld. I hope that you are feeling well today. God bless❤❤❤❤
I often skip or fast forward videos but I’ve watched two of yours intently, having had you come up as a recommendation today. You have a profound, honest way of discussing this awful addictive, gripping disease and how it can capture you like a Venus fly pot. Very personable and direct. I think we can feel invincible for years and forget what a poisonous toxin alcohol is. Often recovery videos make us feel everyone just ‘bounces’ back but this is BS. I’ve gone from a very heavy drinker to someone who, for some reason, is acutely aware I could be at the cusp of a serious illness if I continue. I owe my body some thanks back, for all the years it’s relentlessly looked after me and tried to cleanse the poisons I fed it away. It’s like a sudden realisation, now I’m in my mid 40s. Thank you so much for your video, its hit me in a way that not all of them do. Please do continue to keep raising awareness and your message. Amazing - good luck dude. Mental strength and outlook account for so much. X

I needed to hear your words of wisdom tonight, thank you for sharing. Im ok,life is just difficult atm but it shall pass, some days we just need a refresher. I am an alcoholic, clean for 13 years but a few years ago was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer,as of now im no evidence of disease. Your so right, when you are possibly dealt a life sentence you really put things into perspective, what is truely important in life. Also i learned ,still a work in progress but not to sweat the small stuff,so not worth it. I wish you and anyone else in your group the best of health ,you are doing a wonderful service sharing your story. Growing up in an alcoholic home with my dad then myself having issues i was never aware of the health consequences alcohol can cause until my friends son developed cirrhosis, very eye opening and very sad. I swear anyone who is struggling at this time it truely is possible to stop, when you hear take one day at a time or one minute at a time like i needed to do once in awhile while i was in my early recovery,it makes it easier and each and every passing day it does get easier then you enjoy not being sick and tired all the time. Hope...never give up hope. Love and peace to all❤. And thank you again!!!
Still praying for a Complete Healing for you. Your Videos Really Impacted me. Thank you for your Vulnerability and letting us hear your Story First Hand.
Hey G, Your video was so powerful. I can't even imagine. In 2016 I went to the ER for a cough I had for 3 weeks. It hurt when I breathe in in my back. Thank God I was living with my dad taking care of him . I said Dad I'm having trouble. I remember us driving to the ER. When I got there I had a hundred and six fever. My lungs were so infected. They took me right in and put a 2 ft in my neck. I remember screaming and then taking my dad out. After that I don't remember anything for 2 months. They told my family I was on the brink of dying. I feel glad that I didn't know any of that. What you went through being aware of your destiny I can't even imagine. We are both here for a reason I love you and what you have done for me❤❤❤

I thought getting LD was somehow my fault, I just racked my brain trying to figure out what exactly did I do. A few months ago I was told that I have this by Autoimmune Hepatitis. I thought it was the psych meds I took. Back in 2012, I recently relooked at the bloodwork and I had elevated liver enzymes. Yet, I have never been clean or sober. I have 29 years and 2 days clean from meth. I'm glad I quite that long ago and never had to go back to it. The alcohol is a different story. In December 2019 I was diagnosed with NAFLD, and figured no big deal, It regenerates itself. So, I wrongly thought. So much for that. By November of 2020 it advanced to NASH, stage 1. By that time, I decided I ought to change my PCP to a hepatologist which turned out to be a good idea. In September of 2020, I no longer could feel anything. So, dumb me in all my 'wisdom' thought I ought to add alcohol to the mix. This continued until January of 2023. Not too smart on my part. Almost every day I drank. This went on for 2 years and 4 months. So, in fact I did in fact cause the cirrhotic liver. The Autoimmune Hepatitis is very rare and it is even more rare for men. As women make up 90%of the patients. Cirrhosis was not even on my radar. I just assumed I would die of congestive heart failure or some cancer. Cirrhosis was just something skid row drunkards get. What a shock I was in for. My MELD score was 16 then dropped to 14 then down to 8 and now back up to 10. I am afraid to drink or take drugs. I know all too well that would end my life a whole lot sooner. We all know why are going to die someday, sooner or later. In addition, I am closely monitored as I have bloodwork done every other Friday. If I do I know all too well that I would sincerely disappoint my medical team.
I also hope and pray you meet with the RIGHT doctors who guide and encourage you in every single way needed. Man. Youre so damn strong and inspiring; and have such a genuine, brilliantly bright soul. God bless you, and your family.
Very powerful. Keep up your fight and your fight for others. Your compassion shines through. And I'm sure we all hope only the best for you. Very true, health, family, a feeling of peace are all we really need in this life. Very thing else is fluff. I do hope your getting through to someone out there. This kind of real life talk and encouragement is so need in this crazy world. Thank you for caring and sharing...God bless you and yours..:)) jw
LD, you inspire me. I think I’ve told you how bad of a drunk I used to be and I sobered up last summer finally but waited another seven months to go to the doctor and luckily I was OK but I don’t think I would’ve had the balls to get a physical if I hadn’t been for your videos. I love you brother!! You are a great guy!!❤
Always seek a second, third, even fourth opinion. It’s not that doctors are bad at their job, they just have so many priorities to juggle. My wife is a doctor and knowing what I know she tells me about other doctors, I would never rely on the opinion of one regular doctor for something so important unless they are some kind of world renowned expert in their field. A few years ago my mother was told at 67 that she had ‘masses’ on her lungs after a bout of severe pneumonia. The tests came back clear but she was mismanaged after being transferred to intermediate care and almost died from ARDS. Thankfully she made it and is still going strong at 73. The point is that doctors are wrong all the time. Their first priority is not to properly diagnose your illness, it’s to move you through the system.
Thank you so much cindy!!!! I hope you are doing well today! I completely forgot your birthday!!!! Happy belated birthday cindy!! I hope is was a great one!!! God bless❤❤❤❤❤
Thinking back on what the hospital administrator said to you both I can’t help but wonder what had she just seen that changed the date of discharge? Refer lab work? New test results? LD this was a doc on your case or someone else? I’m sorry that happened to you. I have never in my life ever heard of a hospital basically “giving up on a patient?” I don’t believe what she told yall was kind. Did she say “I have some new news about your case, I’m happy your wife is here?” It isn’t right. Of all the years in nursing have I witnessed a doc suggest that. So, true.

Amen. You're here on earth for a reason... God bless you and your family... take good care and keep on spreading your truth/light. 🌺🍀🪴

Your story hits home with me except I haven’t let Alcohol drag me down that bad. Thank God!!! Which I do and sad that you haven’t mentioned the Lord as your savior and helping you. ❤
I love you too ❤🎉😊
Thank you for sharing that. Man you are so inspirational we are really lucky to know you. God bless you and your family.
You are so welcome Michael!!! Thank you so much for saying that!!! God bless❤❤❤❤

Hey man I have no idea how I found your channel as I don't drink. This is incredibly inspirational . No one is completely free from addiction or temptation and it's a daily devotion to stay the course. God bless.
😊
So sorry about the bugs
😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤ thank you Kristen!!! God bless❤❤❤
Such a comforting testimonial surrounding two years of tragedies and uncertainty. Thought about you when i was reading Psalm 45 and 46 the other night.
I always feel bad hearing about that hospitalist in Columbia, dismissing you just for refusing the dilaudid.
So glad to have your friendship and daily encouragement!!
Thank you so much Craig! Thank you for thinking of me too! I really do appreciate your friendship as well my friend!!! Hope that you are doing well today buddy! God bless❤❤❤❤
Wow. Keep the strength. You are an inspiration
I hope you live a long time bro
From personal experience most medical professionals are wonderful but I've ran into a few of them that just shouldn't work around people in any capacity. Maybe they could use their skills to do research or something productive
What are the waves of seeming panic attacks or anxiety after a long day of drinking the day after? Almost seems like a set timer in your body every 5 minutes or so? I am 28 and have I guess whatever gene that causes you to feel like you need to constantly drink until you pass out And start over the next day. I am self employed with 2 beautiful girls and wife (5&2) I feel so selfish and broken. I have threw up the “coffee grains” once before after a bender can’t remember the last time I took a solid #2 I’m probably at my worse after 3 years of drinking probably a pint of fireball a day and probably close to a 12 pack on top of that on bad days. I don’t get the shakes or anything when I don’t drink I just always want to drink. Please pray for me
Go to your doctor, there are medications that can help with the urge to drink. Good luck ❤
Glad to see that today you are recovered some since your diagnosis. Incredible to hear that you got up and continued to live your life. You are super human man.
I had fatty liver, not what you have, but also my veins were causing stasis ulcers on my legs. I went keto then advanced into carnivore. My liver has repaired and my ulcers on my legs are minimal. I can walk again.
God bless you brother
You’re such an inspiration to me.
Thank you so much for saying that!!!! You are awesome! God bless❤❤❤❤
Wow L.D you really got a raw deal here, to have survived and thrived after all this , you got my respect bro
Thank you so much paul! I really appreciate you saying that my friend! God bless❤❤❤
Keep fighting the fight
I sure will! Thank you! God bless❤❤❤
So incredibly heartfelt and sincere. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and giving folks hope. You've transformed a potential tragedy into a major life lesson - and then shared it with the world out of love. Thank you so much for your compassion, and congrats on taking charge of your life and proving that hospital employee wrong (I think her actions were wrong, for the record).
Thank you so very much for this! I didn't want to waste my lessons I have learned in life, I had to share them. Thank you for being a part of it! God bless❤❤❤❤
John 3:16.....that is your miracle❤
