I'm quitting right now right this moment after hearing your story. Prayers for all of us.
@@avalancheonmaui963thank you so much for asking. it's going amazing!!! The moment i made that comment on quitting i asked my wife to take the rest of my whiskey drink and poor it down the drain. It's now been 21 days after 7 years of non stop drinking every day. It was getting really really bad. My wife and daughter are super happy and told me how much my attitude and mood has changed. I am high on life again no more going back i am done being a slave to the alcohol. How about you? Are you trying to stop or have you already?
Awww how wonderful for you! How are you doing? My name is Melissa I am a recovery leader with lots of my own issues lol don't we all! I hope you are well XoXoX If not by any chance hang around okay? We need you too new friend❤
How are you doing still going strong?
Im 23 days today myself 🙏🏻
@@MsSheilaC yay YOU!!! Tuesday is brought to us by the #23!!XoXoX
I don't have LD - just a bloke who stumbled across this and wanted to send some love your way brother. I get the sense that you're going to make it through this and impact a lot of people with your story. Much love, stay strong
Thank you so much! I really hope so! Thank you for watching! God bless!
What an incredible story, you will never know the people you have helped by sharing your journey.
Your fire alarm beeping has caused me to start drinking again!!
I'm sorry to hear that. God bless
Very funny! Actually, those are the kind of excuses alcoholics make to start drinking again. Best wishes
@@liverdisease-qb6rk I thought it was my smoke detector at first.
I kept checking mine 😅
I literally changed my batteries in my CO2 detector just now. I pushed the button and it chirped identically.
I am such a tool!
Diagnosed almost 2 years ago.. liver failure and verices. Almost died two kids 7 and 12. Sober almost 2 years and workin 50 hrs a week livin life without booze the liver keeps improvin when they thought it wouldnt. Im not givin up.. Stay strong buddy💪👍
nice work friend!! Ive heard so many success stories and i think having a drive and a will to live and continue to heal and impact the world in a positive way is so important
I know of someone that was in hospice from liver failure and turn their liver failure around and they are alive today, hopefully you learned your lesson.
How
@@mythicalghost1769 how what??
Stage 4 liver cirrhosis here. Diagnosed 2 yrs ago and varices as well. As soon as I was diagnosed, I got sober. Your body does some weird creepy stuff when your liver is failing. My blood work is normal and my liver is healing. Believe it or not liver specialist don’t know a lot about diet or how to heal your liver other than not drink. People are made to believe it is a death sentence and it is absolutely not. Working out as much as you can is very important as well. We will not go this way baby! God bless!
My son’s story is very similar. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis at age 34. He has been sober for almost 2 years now and is doing well. He had several varices removed also. His disease is well compensated right now, and we’re hopeful that he stays this way as long as he stays away from alcohol. I hope you are doing well, too. God bless you.
Thank you for sharing your story. I am glad to hear that your son is no longer drinking and is doing better now. Having this disease is not fun, but you can go on living with some inconveniences. I appreciate you watching! Thank you again! God bless
Thanks for sharing your story. It’s unbelievable how life’s circumstances can change so suddenly.
Please up date us on your condition, my brother in alcoholism. Im 44, been sober 10 years, i had elevated liver enzymes, fatty liver, was always spewing up. Drank around the clock, if i was awake i was drunk.
I had a relapse with opiates two years ago, I'm on the suboxone program , but haven't ever picked up a drink , not since 2013.
Im praying for you bro.
Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
Thankfully opiates aren't too bad on the liver. Try to ween off the Suboxone slowly
Glad to hear that you're sober now. Hang in there. Thank u so much for the prayers!
Thanks for sharing that. 10 years sober here. Wouldn’t go back.
My brother was diagnosed with the last stage of cirrhosis in late 2018 he was so yellow and swollen when he finally went to the hospital its a miracle he is alive but today he is doing well his liver is doing well I'll be praying for you
Glad to hear your brother is doing well. Is he going to require a transplant, or will his liver recover nicely on its own? Also what other symptoms did your brother have to cause him to go to the hospital?
@furnitureandbedding776 he was retaining water all over his body his feet were twice their normal size, very tired. He will not require a liver transplant he took a while to recover, but Thank God he is doing great
@furnitureandbedding776 I remember he said at the beginning of his recovery that when he looked up his symptoms, they were all the symptoms for cirrhosis of the liver
Seems like symptoms come on quickly. Will Does he have any scarring at all or will his liver recover 100%
@furnitureandbedding776 The doctor said he is back to normal he is careful to watch his diet. We were drinking a lot and he started to get tired very fast into the day and his tolerance for alcohol was very high than it was very low
I'm 2 weeks sobar after ending up in ICU because my blood pressure went up to 254 over 122, luckily my liver is OK, I don't know how, thank you for your story, God bless 😢
Great job! Gratitude is the key. Keep watching these videos every morning or night and be grateful you stopped before it was to late. Best wishes
Our active alcoholism story is the same. 1/2 gallon every other day or so. I’ve been sober 20 years, and you can too! One day at a time.
If you aren’t in AA I beg you to become active. I’ve come to believe the most we can hope for in this journey is to help others.
Your videos are helping many. You can help those in your community, and accept their love and help.
I just quit drinking two months ago. I’m hoping my liver is ok. I feel so much better.
Go to the doctor and be honest. Get blood work for your liver
A simple blood screen and biliruben count will tell.
WE NEED PART 2! Hope your ok!
Just posted yesterday. Thank u for watching!
Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sure you will help a lot of people. Blessings to you...Hope you get better and better. 🌻🌺🏵🥀🌱
Thanks for sharing, please stay strong and keep us updated! You are in my thoughts and prayers 🤞🏻🙏🏻
Thank you for your story. My brother is struggling as well. Keep fighting the good fight!
Thank you for sharing brother. I found myself in almost the exact same situation as you described. Eerily similar. I started drinking in my early teens and gradually progressed to where i found myself up until about a month and a half ago when I detoxed. Constant vomiting among other problems (BP at one point was like 200/130). I was drinking almost a handle of CC whiskey EVERY SINGLE DAY. I'm only 44 years old. I can't believe I'm still alive. Anxious to hear you pick up your story where you left off in this video.

@@larryflener8658I hope you’re okay. How long do they think you’ll need wait for a transplant? Best wishes ❤️
What helped me was going on a carnivore diet. That diet reset my body and for the first time I experienced alcohol for the toxin it is. The carnivore diet made me allergic to alcohol, literally. So I stopped drinking as it was giving me bad side effects. My ALT blood numbers went from 510 back to under 60. My liver stopped melting from daily vodka drinking as the carnivore diet made me hate alcohol for the first time in my life. I cant recommend it enough! Been 2 years with no alcohol and i dont miss it at all. If youre reading this and are having issues? Get on the carnivore diet. Its NOT NORMAL to get only good effects from a toxin! Reset your body, get your life back.
Reversed type 2 diabetes and lost weight too.
Thanks for sharing. Hope your recovery continues.
Thank you for sharing your story.i was in food business like you and i know the addiction issues. Prayers for you and your family! Be well.
I hope you're doing okay. I've watched a few of these stories... and it seems the doctors love to tell people they will die any minute but they're still here years later, but I hope you're still kickin strong.

Have u ever considered doing interviews with people the way you interview your wife? I think not everyone is as open to appear-like myself. Not saying I would but you’ve helped me a lot, and I work in the alcohol industry and struggle.
I found your story bc I have a family member struggling with alcoholism. I was also a heavy drinker in my teens, 20s and 30s. Praying for you, your wife and your children 🙏🏼

What an amazing story, so very tragic for you and your family.
Hey bro, just wanted to say thanks for all the content and sharing your story with everyone. My story is similar to yours and I've taken everything you've said with very serious consideration. I have quit alchohol and have cleaned up my diet. Your story scared the shit out of me and was the wake up call I needed. God bless you and I hope the future for you is long and joyful and hopefully the technology improves to the point you can be your old self. Thank you. You are a blessing to so many people. Wish you the best dude.
Thanks for sharing. I’m listening.
I hope you're still around. All the best mate......
After stopping drinking for about 3 months i drank a couple more times, then decided i wanted an abdominal ultrasound. Turns out i have mild to moderate fatty liver. I need to stop alcohol completely and fix my diet, lowering carbs, im lucky to have decent health overall. So hopefully i can improve my liver, my blood tests showed improvement im several areas over the 3 months sober. Your story is amazing and terrifying. You give me more motivation to remain sober.
Thank you for sharing your story-it is helping me stay sober❤May God bless and heal you🙏
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching! God bless
Will pray for you and your family ❤

Thank you so much. No, I'm still here. I'm sorry that I just forgot about the video and left everyone hangout. I have just had so much going on with my medical stuff that I just forgot. Hope you are well and thank you for the kind words
I appreciate you posting this. These stories are needed, to help spread the message about what can happen to all of us, when it gets really far.
I can relate man. Sober 7 years. I am fortunate I never got cirrhosis, and surprised I didn't.
Thank you for sharing.
I was watching… then took my airpods out thinking my alarm was needing battery change… 😅
I read the comments re that 😂
Sorry you were so sick. Gonna watch yr other vids 🙏🏻 thank you for yr courage and transparency 🌸
Any health updates? Keep fighting my friend!
You are a pleasure to listen to sir. Thanks for the help with my abstinence of the damn poison
rumor has it that 7 months later he still hasn't changed the battery in his smoke detector
Thank you for sharing your story. How are you doing?
Hey LD. Appreciate you sharing your tough story. My story is less severe - I'm in my late 50's, & I'm obese - I now understand that I may have some degree of liver disease (Less certain about my pancreas, but I may have issues there as well .. from excessive binge drinking in my youth - Some of your story is familiar), so things aren't working as they should be. I've adopted a carnivore diet, with some keto (mostly to attend to my microbiome) - Trying to deal with insulin resistance with some attention to healing my liver - Harry Houdini had pancreatitis, so you're in good company. Take care of yourself & your family. God Bless you 🕊🦅🕊
Remove bread, potatoes, pasta, and sugar from your diet. Basically low carbs only. You will lose lots of weight and not feel hungry
Thank you so much. I had no idea about Harry. Just posted a part 2.
@jnolette1030 I'm low carb high protein. I use tudca for liver. I feel best in 5 yrs. I'm 6 months sober
@starbright1256 thats awesome! Good for you! God bless you on your sobriety journey!
Over eating can cause cirrhosis of the liver also.
Hope you are ok. Just saw your video. Looking for the rest.
Hope you are doing better brother
I ended up watching the whole Video and I really hope that you are ok.....
Please post another video show us your alright
Thanks for sharing, hope you are doing well. Funny aside, I could hear the alarm in the background, and was thinking was on my end, haha, needless to say, I couldn't find the low battery smoke alarm!
I'm glad that I found this and I hope that you're doing better.
I'm glad you found it too! Thank you! God bless

I just realized this was 7 months ago and this is the only video. I went to look for others. Developed a caring for the dude just to realize this was it. I'm quite saddened by that. It would be great if he was still here by chance. :(

Had a friend die of pancreatitis, well of blood poisoning after being released from hospital. Said it was the worst pain he’d ever experienced.
I’ve been drinking heavily for 40 years but have managed a month or two off almost every year. Must have helped as my liver function tests are great but I do have a “feeling” in the right side of my abdomen.
Got to quit asap
I stumbled onto this video last year. I guess it is a year old. You look a hell of a lot healthier now, man. I am surprised they didn't noticed or speak of your liver enzymes when they did your blood test.
I hope this guy is ok. Wanted part 2.
Very similar story; blessed to be sober 24 years June 2024.
alcohol is so bad ; wish more people would Wake up to the truth about it
that stupid thing about wine being jesus' blood. christianity damages too many people
yes that communion stuff always seemsed vile to me ; something really off/ ritualistic about it ; creepy @@kenwin5845
@@kenwin5845A lot of Christian religions discourage alcohol or drugs. AA was started by Christian people. It’s mainly the Catholic religion that drinks socially. Ask Pentecostals or other orthodox Christian religions if they do drugs and alcohol (some strict Christian religions are even wary of coffee or spices like the 7th Day Adventist Christians). Keep in mind that alcoholics are also open minded to other drug substances which can create a terrible combination. Also plenty of atheists drink alcohol as well so let’s not pretend it’s just Christians.
What a brave guy!!! I'm ashamed to say our lives have followed similar path. Im 43 years old too.
Thank you! I'm so sorry that you are dealing with this as well. If our stories are similar, I truly an sorry for you. I know how much it can take out of you, mentally, spiritually, and physically. God bless you! Thank-you for watching. I'm 44 btw... so we are the same age as well

Holy cow man. What a story. I can see you’re still alive from your recent videos i’d love to know the full story. The fact you forgot to do an update and forgot the video was even posted is memory loss related to cirrhosis?
Great video. That smoke detector going off has to make it worse.
Can you please give us an update?
How’re you doing now? Hopefully you’re doing really good now!!
Sounds like your Smoke alarm needs a battery, lol. Hope your better soon. God bless.
God Bless, I'll pray for ypu now. Pray "in the name of Jesus Chris of Nazareth".
Thank you for sharing your story and hope continue to get well. Unfortunately, my brother past away just yesterday😢ive lost two brothers now to alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. He was in the hospital for month and a half esophagus varices ruptured and had three surgeries while in the hospital. Drs told him he'll die if he didn't stop drinking, he said he was done no more. But they continue to keep him in the hospital, then transfer to another hospital but from there he went down hill, he couldn't walk, use hands or anything he didn't understand what was happening to him ..they were giving him so much medicines orally and through veins, even said he was improving eventhough it seemed he wasn't, even said he would be transfer to another hospital for liver transplant...and within 4 days he was gone. This makes me wonder if it's even a good idea to even stay in the hospital for that long, cause it seems that at the end theyll still kill you and all those medicines with the liver problem the person already have, i think meds just make it worst. We're mourning because regardless he was a great person and we missed him so much. He was a veteran of the US army and went to combat, had PTSD and struggled with alcohol for so long but it seemed he got worst on the last three months or so.
I’m so sorry about your brothers. I agree with you about that medicines are also very damaging for the liver. Thankful for your brothers service. I had a neighbor that had PTSD from the service and he drank himself to death alone. So very sad. His legs had swollen up so much he couldn’t walk anymore and his top was so skinny he looked like a skeleton.
Praying for all
Dealing with this horrible addiction! Lord please help those struggling with this horrible addiction. Help them see it is a poison that is killing them and it is destroying their lives not helping them. Please lead them to have no desire for alcohol. Please help them heal and return to full health. Most of all help them be saved & know how much You love them that You, Jesus, died on the cross for their sins so that if they believe in You they will be saved. There is always hope with You. Amen 🙏🏻❤️
So sorry. I agree about all the meds and I'm a nurse.
I hope you find healing ❤

I think you were commenting on another channel back around March. I remember making a reply to your comment. I said you should you should make a video and tell your story. You probably don't remember that because there were other people maybe said the same things but you did make a video should be there after. When you kind of disappeared and thank you to God and serendipity that you found your old video in the algorithm. Posting here because something's weird about the other video. Is Scott no comments and I think it's limited when it comes to certain things but nonetheless I noticed other people also came over here to comment. I'm sorry about the problems you've been having and I just want you to hang in there and see what the future brings. The way your other video pop up.
Glad to see you making a video again. Take care of yourself and you might want to check with RUclips to see if you've been monetized with that many views. I'm just saying if it's old to you then it's owed to you. Could help you out just like any of us. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours ‼️🙏

Have cutting back on alcohol last time. What helped me during heavy drinking periods is that i never felt the urge to drink in the daytime. I could be on a long binge but i never drank during the day. Stopped cold turkey and yes it felt weird first evenings but it wore off quick. Drinking modestly now.
That's very good to hear! Thank you for sharing and for watching these videos! God bless
I think the way people use alcohol really varies. I never drink in the morning or daytime, I have no interest or urge to drink unless it's the evening, but that urge can very powerful. I have started a new rule this year not to have alcohol at home, so I am only occasionally drinking socially in a bar.
Any updates? 🥺💔
