I own a 2019 Camaro SS 1LE, and it is an awesome vehicle! My vehicle has not required any warranty work, and I have completed the engine oil and filter changes myself. To anyone who does own a 1SS, I highly recommend installing the leather-wrapped knee pads from the 2SS. P.S. - You should install black lug nut covers from ColorLugs---it's an inexpensive modification that makes a big difference.
Great video. You nailed something no one talks about. The dealerships not backing or making any effort to provide customer service once the sale is made. If you want to eliminate the loud door chimes and cheap stereo sound. Get an AudioControl DSP (Digital Sound Processor) that will make your sound system sound amazing, but you will also need to upgrade the speakers. It will definitely fix the loud annoying door chimes. I had the same issue with my 2018 Chevy Camaro 1SS 1LE. Good luck brotha.
Either Bose or non-Bose, feed the speaker level inputs into a good DSP which then drives the amp(s). The DSP will correct all factory coloration in the sound and fix the door chime volume.

2SS is only a higher trim level. You’re getting pretty much everything offered in the SS package. No performance difference. I think the Bose sound system might be one difference, but don’t quote me. For me, the 1LE package was more important than any interior trim. Would have been happy with either, as long as it was a 1LE equipped SS Camaro!

My dealership has been responsive. No real issues though except for clearcoat issue in one of my black rims. Almost 42k miles now. Runs like it did off the dealer lot. 2017 SS 6 speed. Most fun car I have ever owned so far and I have owned 60s era muscle.
Man, that shift comment is the reason I dumped my 2020 Charger scat pack. It also wanted you to drive it hard, if you drove it around town within speed limits it felt extremely clunky but ripping it was smooth. Currently shopping myself, almost talked myself into a V6 but I think i would regret it. Trying to find a used SS 1LE, prices are just crazy at this time though. :(
Lol I moved 3x in my 5th gen Camaro. I had a Queen size tuft & needle mattress in there, 2 large desks from Ikea, a large dresser,large bookcase, Two 40 & 43in flatscreen TVs boxed, totes and more totes. Just put the seats down when you have bigger items. It’s all about how you pack. I even had a fullsized 88 key keyboard in there with totes at the same time. 🤷🏽♀️

Haahha dude that's the best color! I feel ya I had a v6 mustang years and years ago and I modded it until I realized it just needed the v8. To be fair the v6 you got RIPS. I had a rental v6 Camaro and it's what started all this for me again. I really loved it.

To all the A8 6th gen Camaro SS owners, I need you guys opinions .. My transmission makes a thump noise when I shift from park to reverse, neutral to reverse then back to park.. Just wondering is that normal.. taking it to my local dealership Monday .. Already had 3 tyranny flushes for the shudder..
Love the video, very informative and confirmed my goal to buying one. Saving up for a used one pretty soon ('17-18). I think dealers in general are just crap (never had a good experience with sales or service). Which is why I'm looking to purchase one through FB marketplace from a private owner. Can't wait for it (coming from an '16 STI it'll be a huge upgrade in my opinion).

I’m glad someone else noticed the “clunkiness” when first shifting 1st to 2nd (especially on cold days). I was worried something was wrong. Over all I love using it as a daily driver and only drive my other car if I need to for weather purposes

My experience as a first time GM owner of a 2019 Stingray has been similar. Good car, fun to drive, but lackluster dealer experience as far as service. I brought my Corvette to the local dealer 364 days after buying it only to be told that the period for the complimentary oil change had expired the day before......Not the end of the world, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will be doing my own oil changes from now on.
Love how real you are! When I bought my 2021 2SS 1LE, I was able to avoid the horrible dealership experience and was lucky enough to get a slightly used one at a Mom & Pop dealership. Now if I need warranty work, hold on tight I guess. I'm used to the worst of the worst at Ford, we'll cross that bridge when it comes lol. As for the Tremec Trans, it is LIGHTYEARS better than the MT-82 in the Mustang GT. I just came from that, so I have driven both and I can tell you the Tremec is 100,000x better than anything the MT-82 does in any possible way. Awesome video as all of your stuff is bro!

Enjoyed the review, I'm pretty happy with my 2020 2SS 1LE. My dealership helped secure the loan I wouldn't have qualified for on my salary. I think bringing the car in for maintenance is also cool as it shows up on the Carfax as care for it.

Compared to the 2ss or 1ss? The 1le besides the visuals has the go fast bits (eLSD, extra cooling, track package and suspension upgrades and few other goodies. It was either 2ss or 1ss 1le for myself. :)
Have the 14 SS 1le in summit white, it has just under 50k miles. I wash that car once a week whether it needs it or not. Still love that car as much as the same day I got it.

I have the 2SS. The Bose system sucks major balls. It is the worst sounding system I've had, and the third party measurements verify this. BUT I never have anything playing when driving this car because the car itself is music. The speakers I only use for GPS directions and phone calls and they're fine for that.
I tried the bose sound system in a 2019 convertible 2ss camaro. And my opinion about it is its alot better than the stock sound system. However its only better than average overall imo. The bass is good however, it feels like the inside rattles and is "hollow" every time the bass hits. Plus the mids are above average but not mind blowing
These muscle cars are just a speeding ticket waiting to happen. As far as 'extended warranties' goes, save your money. It won't cover anything & it's just another way for Dealers to suck more money out of their buyers.
I will be most likely going for a gray 2021 or 2022 2ss 1le manual. Need a back seat for a toddler. If I had no kids, would have loved to go for a slightly used C7 ZO6 manual.
Great information on a great car. Chevrolet does really good at providing a monstrous machine but Ford kicks them as far as advertising and creating hype is concerned. All in all, I'm still intoxicated by the Shelby's FPC sound - the 1LE would instead be the bigger bang for the buck I assume. At least to me; because the more I look at them more deeply, the more I'm fascinated by the Camaro's true value.
Appreciate it man. Your right on this is a huge bang for buck car. Ford has always been better at marketing. They really know how to sell, chevy sits back and let's those who know buy. I wish they did a bit more commercials for the Camaro, I never understood why they don't. So I'm here 😅. Can't disagree about the Shelby's hell even the 5.0 sounds absolutely glorious.
If you have the single radio with no amp then you can easily change the head unit. Look at audio control for amps with built in sound processor. Get a good alpine head unite and some good speakers. If you have the Bose system your gonna spend some money to upgrade that one. You should interface with a digital sound so you limit the distortion. A nav tv or something comparable for the Bose interface. Then add the rest.
Man good vid. I was really upset that i couldn't get the bose with the 1le. I had a 17 1le and my gripes where the recaro seats area really narrow. If you are of decent size or build you will notice that. The window opening with windows down the airflow kind of sucked. Found that some times had to close the windows to put ac on to keep cool. The car ran great, shifted great, handled great. Get the zl1 front fender flares . Must have to save the side of car from paint chips. Hands down best performance car for the money!
Good observations. The seats work for me but I can see them being tight if your any bigger. Airflow can get weird gotta crack the passenger to break up that window pressure pulsating deal. Def gotta figure out something for the paint chips. Just brutal lol

My shifting is fine when I first get in unless its below freezing only then is it stiff until it warms up. The Tremec is a good trans. The Mustang GT500 went with the Tremec over the Chinese Getrag in the base mustang GT.

Man that's so true. A lot of the Camaro guys I talk to used to have Mustangs. They are a bit cheaper and cheap to build and maintain. The camaros not that much more but eventually we make it to the more performance orientated car.
I would rate the bose sound system a 6.5/10. Its alot better than the stock system but its got nothing to the harman kardon sound system in the chargers and challengers. As much as i love the v8 chug in a muscle car, i love to misten to music very much and the sound system is one of my majors

Word. Just picked up my 21 SS 1LE. Every 6 speed car I've had from GM (00 SS, 01 Z06, 06 GTO) the trans didn't like to go into reverse unless I put it in 1st or 2nd before hand or I slowly let the clutch out and pushed up a lil then it would engage, so I got into the habit of doing that, I noticed this 6 speed in mine isn't like that, I wonder it that will come on with age.
You know man I totally know what your talking about and I haven't had that on this car so far up to 14k miles. I don't think it'll do that but can't say for sure
Not so much the chatter that bothers now. Once the first throw out was replaced that subsided. Your right twin disk do chatter but when I stepped on the gas it actually got worse instead of going away. But appreciate your advice man!
Hot 1LE Yep, those stickies are great but def don’t last! I was lucky and made it to 12k on mine. At the time I was actually really glad to ditch em cause that was season before last where we had tons of rain ... it was SO scary driving on the freeway omg!! So now I just have all seasons (and they were much cheaper) 👍
Oh ya that could do it. I set as low as it goes. Even with a sunroof I still got 4 inches or so. But ya I got some long ass legs that keep me from driving other cars :(
I know guys that have paid 50k+ for a 2ss 1le. In theory you should be able to get them a few thousand over a 1ss. I'll probably add a sub then some lighting and be done with the car and use it for track stuff. The bang for buck is the 1ss1le. Thanks for watching man 👍

Hey man nice car! 😅. Yeah it's the borla atak axlebacks with the NPP exhaust valves. So the valves still work as before if you need it to be quiet at times. Thanks for watching 💪

Have you had starter problems? Apparently there is a lawsuit over the starter not being shielded enough from engine heat which can cause the starter to turn over slower or even fail and have to be replaced. I am selling my BMW M3 to get a Camaro.
Nope no issues. gen5DIY has a fix for it it's to upgrade the grounding cable for the starter. I thought it was heat shield too but apparently it's increased resistance that helps cause the issue. I think lethal Camaro has put some info out on it. But no issues so far at 16k
@@Hot-1LE yeah my dad bought the same one and we were gonna put it in. Decided to do a bunch of research and it turns out the seal on the delete module can leak in water and create issues with your transmission. If I were you I'd stay in 1st gear until 3k rpm then shift to second so your passed the 2and gear lock out.
Ya I been worried about a cheap part on an expensive trans haha. I do shift about 3k almost always. It's just a bit notchy when cold. Will be changing the fluid when I get a chance.

yeah man i think it's going to be different for everyone in terms of dealer exp, mainly bc dealers are independently owned and operated. It would be in their interest to represent the brand well but there's always shitty dealers.
Great video man a lot of help! I have a question I’m stuck here. Highly considering a 2019 2ss 1le right now. Selling for 47k with discount! But I found a 1ss 1le 2020 150 miles away for 43k. Are there any main differences except heated and cooling seats and safety equipment?
Main things between 1ss and 2ss 1le is the 2ss has: upgraded stereo, interior lighting, wireless cell charger (that fits no phones lol), lane alert in the mirrors, the rearview mirror is actually a screen with a camera facing backward while driving, dual climate control. So up to you if you want to pay 4k for that stuff. Maybe go sit in them both and decide :)
Hot 1LE Yea none of that is worth the extra money for me. I think I can get 1k off the 1SS for 42k since the 2SS gas a 2k discount. The car at 44k msrp already feels like a steal for the performance. I test drove the 2ss yesterday and it blew my mind. I have a lot of seat time in a bmw m2 and it feels much tighter and way faster obviously . I drove the new supra as well, great car but it needs a manual badly
Hot 1LE Oh it will so much. The Camaro blends the perfect personality of a track car and a street-able bmw. I was looking at bmws but for the absolute bargain the Camaro it’ll be stupid to consider anything else. Plus it’s faster than all those cars and won’t break. I’ve never come across a better deal for a car. People don’t believe you when you tell them.
That's a tough decision. The v6 Camaro carries a stigma (if you care, but it exists), but the gr86 is a bit slow in the straights. Me personally the Camaro, but it's a totally personal decision dependent on your situation needs and wants. Go drive them both
I'm 6ft 4 so I can empathize man 😂 I fit fine in the mustang too. The Camaro to me has a hair bit more leg room. Seats sit lower. The door controls like windows are a bit close to you ( for our long arms) but it's not a big deal. Head room on both was a non issue but I probably got longer legs then toroso. The Camaro feels more closed in but it's really just the high dash/doors. Imo this car is made for a big guy. Works perfect for me but there is some loss of interior square footage compared to the Stang. For me it was in areas that don't really matter (roof line low in back, back seats, high dash etc.) Let me know if you end up sitting in one would like your feedback !
I been doing modified exhaust for a long ass time. I never been pulled over for it. Only once did I get a ticket long ago for it but cop was just being a tool gave me many others too.
Hard to find and even harder now. Join a gen6 camaro fb page, check the forums, or like I did for new I went website by website in different area codes of chevy dealers and.looked at their inventory. Chevys website is out of date. Got a friend looking same issue. Good luck
It's all rumors right now but it looks like possibly 2023. However there have been findings of new engine codes which would maybe replace the lt1. So at this time hard to say.

Go for the v8 man. If you have any speculation the v6 may not fill the need. Save yourself some future money and buy the v8 now haha. Good luck man!

Just wondering is that normal.. taking it to my local dealership Monday .. Already had 3 tyranny flushes for the shudder..

I’m glad someone else noticed the “clunkiness” when first shifting 1st to 2nd (especially on cold days). I was worried something was wrong. Over all I love using it as a daily driver and only drive my other car if I need to for weather purposes

My experience as a first time GM owner of a 2019 Stingray has been similar. Good car, fun to drive, but lackluster dealer experience as far as service. I brought my Corvette to the local dealer 364 days after buying it only to be told that the period for the complimentary oil change had expired the day before......Not the end of the world, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will be doing my own oil changes from now on.

Love how real you are! When I bought my 2021 2SS 1LE, I was able to avoid the horrible dealership experience and was lucky enough to get a slightly used one at a Mom & Pop dealership. Now if I need warranty work, hold on tight I guess. I'm used to the worst of the worst at Ford, we'll cross that bridge when it comes lol. As for the Tremec Trans, it is LIGHTYEARS better than the MT-82 in the Mustang GT. I just came from that, so I have driven both and I can tell you the Tremec is 100,000x better than anything the MT-82 does in any possible way. Awesome video as all of your stuff is bro!

Im pretty sure it was 2018 they started making them. Pretty rare though you don't see them often. And 2021 gets an automatic 1le. -_-

Compared to the 2ss or 1ss? The 1le besides the visuals has the go fast bits (eLSD, extra cooling, track package and suspension upgrades and few other goodies. It was either 2ss or 1ss 1le for myself. :)
Have the 14 SS 1le in summit white, it has just under 50k miles. I wash that car once a week whether it needs it or not. Still love that car as much as the same day I got it.

I have the 2SS. The Bose system sucks major balls. It is the worst sounding system I've had, and the third party measurements verify this. BUT I never have anything playing when driving this car because the car itself is music. The speakers I only use for GPS directions and phone calls and they're fine for that.

I tried the bose sound system in a 2019 convertible 2ss camaro. And my opinion about it is its alot better than the stock sound system. However its only better than average overall imo. The bass is good however, it feels like the inside rattles and is "hollow" every time the bass hits. Plus the mids are above average but not mind blowing
The other day I was in the verge of adding an active 12 inch subwoofer, and realized I like the sound of the exhaust too much.
IDK if the audio broke in but its sounding better. Ill be getting a sub soon
These muscle cars are just a speeding ticket waiting to happen. As far as 'extended warranties' goes, save your money. It won't cover anything & it's just another way for Dealers to suck more money out of their buyers.

Great information on a great car. Chevrolet does really good at providing a monstrous machine but Ford kicks them as far as advertising and creating hype is concerned. All in all, I'm still intoxicated by the Shelby's FPC sound - the 1LE would instead be the bigger bang for the buck I assume. At least to me; because the more I look at them more deeply, the more I'm fascinated by the Camaro's true value.
Appreciate it man. Your right on this is a huge bang for buck car. Ford has always been better at marketing. They really know how to sell, chevy sits back and let's those who know buy. I wish they did a bit more commercials for the Camaro, I never understood why they don't. So I'm here 😅. Can't disagree about the Shelby's hell even the 5.0 sounds absolutely glorious.
If you have the single radio with no amp then you can easily change the head unit. Look at audio control for amps with built in sound processor. Get a good alpine head unite and some good speakers. If you have the Bose system your gonna spend some money to upgrade that one. You should interface with a digital sound so you limit the distortion. A nav tv or something comparable for the Bose interface. Then add the rest.
Man good vid. I was really upset that i couldn't get the bose with the 1le. I had a 17 1le and my gripes where the recaro seats area really narrow. If you are of decent size or build you will notice that. The window opening with windows down the airflow kind of sucked. Found that some times had to close the windows to put ac on to keep cool. The car ran great, shifted great, handled great. Get the zl1 front fender flares . Must have to save the side of car from paint chips. Hands down best performance car for the money!
Good observations. The seats work for me but I can see them being tight if your any bigger. Airflow can get weird gotta crack the passenger to break up that window pressure pulsating deal. Def gotta figure out something for the paint chips. Just brutal lol

My shifting is fine when I first get in unless its below freezing only then is it stiff until it warms up. The Tremec is a good trans. The Mustang GT500 went with the Tremec over the Chinese Getrag in the base mustang GT.

Man that's so true. A lot of the Camaro guys I talk to used to have Mustangs. They are a bit cheaper and cheap to build and maintain. The camaros not that much more but eventually we make it to the more performance orientated car.

I would rate the bose sound system a 6.5/10. Its alot better than the stock system but its got nothing to the harman kardon sound system in the chargers and challengers. As much as i love the v8 chug in a muscle car, i love to misten to music very much and the sound system is one of my majors

Word. Just picked up my 21 SS 1LE. Every 6 speed car I've had from GM (00 SS, 01 Z06, 06 GTO) the trans didn't like to go into reverse unless I put it in 1st or 2nd before hand or I slowly let the clutch out and pushed up a lil then it would engage, so I got into the habit of doing that, I noticed this 6 speed in mine isn't like that, I wonder it that will come on with age.
You know man I totally know what your talking about and I haven't had that on this car so far up to 14k miles. I don't think it'll do that but can't say for sure

Not so much the chatter that bothers now. Once the first throw out was replaced that subsided. Your right twin disk do chatter but when I stepped on the gas it actually got worse instead of going away. But appreciate your advice man!

At the time I was actually really glad to ditch em cause that was season before last where we had tons of rain ... it was SO scary driving on the freeway omg!! So now I just have all seasons (and they were much cheaper) 👍

I know guys that have paid 50k+ for a 2ss 1le. In theory you should be able to get them a few thousand over a 1ss. I'll probably add a sub then some lighting and be done with the car and use it for track stuff. The bang for buck is the 1ss1le. Thanks for watching man 👍

Have you had starter problems? Apparently there is a lawsuit over the starter not being shielded enough from engine heat which can cause the starter to turn over slower or even fail and have to be replaced. I am selling my BMW M3 to get a Camaro.
Nope no issues. gen5DIY has a fix for it it's to upgrade the grounding cable for the starter. I thought it was heat shield too but apparently it's increased resistance that helps cause the issue. I think lethal Camaro has put some info out on it. But no issues so far at 16k
You have a 2nd gear lock out buddy. My dads 2018 1ss 1le had that. You can get a delete for that online
Ya I got the phastek skip shift eliminator but been lagging on putting it in.
@@Hot-1LE yeah my dad bought the same one and we were gonna put it in. Decided to do a bunch of research and it turns out the seal on the delete module can leak in water and create issues with your transmission. If I were you I'd stay in 1st gear until 3k rpm then shift to second so your passed the 2and gear lock out.
Ya I been worried about a cheap part on an expensive trans haha. I do shift about 3k almost always. It's just a bit notchy when cold. Will be changing the fluid when I get a chance.

yeah man i think it's going to be different for everyone in terms of dealer exp, mainly bc dealers are independently owned and operated. It would be in their interest to represent the brand well but there's always shitty dealers.
Great video man a lot of help! I have a question I’m stuck here. Highly considering a 2019 2ss 1le right now. Selling for 47k with discount! But I found a 1ss 1le 2020 150 miles away for 43k. Are there any main differences except heated and cooling seats and safety equipment?
Main things between 1ss and 2ss 1le is the 2ss has: upgraded stereo, interior lighting, wireless cell charger (that fits no phones lol), lane alert in the mirrors, the rearview mirror is actually a screen with a camera facing backward while driving, dual climate control. So up to you if you want to pay 4k for that stuff. Maybe go sit in them both and decide :)

I test drove the 2ss yesterday and it blew my mind. I have a lot of seat time in a bmw m2 and it feels much tighter and way faster obviously . I drove the new supra as well, great car but it needs a manual badly

Hot 1LE Oh it will so much. The Camaro blends the perfect personality of a track car and a street-able bmw. I was looking at bmws but for the absolute bargain the Camaro it’ll be stupid to consider anything else. Plus it’s faster than all those cars and won’t break. I’ve never come across a better deal for a car. People don’t believe you when you tell them.
It is insane the performance you get for the money. The magnetic suspension really makes the car an all around performer

That's a tough decision. The v6 Camaro carries a stigma (if you care, but it exists), but the gr86 is a bit slow in the straights. Me personally the Camaro, but it's a totally personal decision dependent on your situation needs and wants. Go drive them both

How is the cabin space? Thinking of getting a 19 zl1 1le but I’m 6’5. Mustangs I fit fine in them
I'm 6ft 4 so I can empathize man 😂 I fit fine in the mustang too. The Camaro to me has a hair bit more leg room. Seats sit lower. The door controls like windows are a bit close to you ( for our long arms) but it's not a big deal. Head room on both was a non issue but I probably got longer legs then toroso. The Camaro feels more closed in but it's really just the high dash/doors. Imo this car is made for a big guy. Works perfect for me but there is some loss of interior square footage compared to the Stang. For me it was in areas that don't really matter (roof line low in back, back seats, high dash etc.) Let me know if you end up sitting in one would like your feedback !

For the 1le the cooling ducting is already in place. Unlike the SS where you add the ducts. It's a different design but no need to do it on the 1le

I been doing modified exhaust for a long ass time. I never been pulled over for it. Only once did I get a ticket long ago for it but cop was just being a tool gave me many others too.

Hard to find and even harder now. Join a gen6 camaro fb page, check the forums, or like I did for new I went website by website in different area codes of chevy dealers and.looked at their inventory. Chevys website is out of date. Got a friend looking same issue. Good luck

It's all rumors right now but it looks like possibly 2023. However there have been findings of new engine codes which would maybe replace the lt1. So at this time hard to say.
