I just bought a ZL1-1LE and I literally went through the same thing with my friends who were telling me to get anything but the Camaro. M5, this, that, etc. I'm so happy I went with the ZL1. It's so silly why the Camaro gets so much flack. It's an excellent car and hands down the best performance per dollar ratio currently available on the market. Dare I say it's quite rare too.
That ZL1 will hold up against any other car. You made a good move.
I'm currently waiting on my ZL1 1LE to be shipped(according to them it is fully assembled chip and all). Did you have to wait long, or did you luck out and find one at a dealership? It's driving me crazy waiting and not knowing an estimated ship date.
@@islandgringo1134 I bought a 1 owner ZL1 1LE with 8,800 miles. New ones that are assembled could be a few weeks depending on dispatch.
@Turbo329 Thanks for the reply, still not sure why they didnt just enroll me in order status update email or at least give me the status code(should be 3800from whatbthey have told me). I've since learned it's something they are supposed to do, but often do not.
Your friends don't want you to get a camaro bc they are going to be so jealous. Especially the zl1 1le haha
I have an 18SS 1LE. In real life the 1le adds the perfect stance with the wider tires and magride and slightly lower ride height. I have received more thumbs up in this car than I can count. Almost every fill-up or ride. Driver engagement is one of the best out there as well. Enjoy!

I'm a Mopar guy through and through, although I love all muscle cars. I just got what I've wanted, waited for a long time on, 21 Scat Pack Shaker manual, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I do really like the Camaro, a friend has a 2015 2ss, it's an awesome car. I agree, follow your heart, you'll be much happier in the long run. Anything less and you're never completely satisfied.

I’m in the same boat. I have a 2021 scatpack charger but I really want to put myself in a 2022 camaro 2ss 1LE
Having many more years experience than probably most posters here, I’ve opted for an LT1 6-speed. For my uses, 455 HP is more than enough for my purposes. No racing and doing donuts and burnouts. I expect it maybe in December.
LT1 is such a great buy for what you get!

It will become a collectable as it's being discontinued. The car is a masterpiece. I have a 1ss manual and I have no regrets. It gets a ton of attention and it's so uncommon that people ask me what kind of car it is and a ton of compliments. You made a wise decision!

YES! You are correct, I chooses the Camaro ss 1LE also because I knew that the charger, and challenger are over rated cars. Don’t get me wrong they are cool, but the Camaro is slept on ! It has amazing sporty/muscle looks it looks elegant to me. I don’t even see a normal SS where I am from, we are a rare breed. ✌️
I do like mopar but love the Camaros!
The best things about the Camaro are handling, looks (especially the pre-facelift), ride, and chassis. No other sports car (not just muscle car) compares to it for the price. Be it a LS, LT1, or Zl1. Plus Camaros hold their value better than ford and Dodge, except in the current market where Dodge is doing better.

I do agree with you that I wish my Challenger had Rev match, tighter pattern and gear indicator. But, that’s what makes the Challenger old school and I love that. Your Camaro is really sweet.
Challenger do the best at resembling an old muscle car. And they are amazing rides.

Congrats on your 1LE purchase! I bought mine new in 2020 and its the most rewarding car I've ever driven. I have owned many corvettes, camaros, trans am, and several mustang cobras in the past. They were all great cars. There is just something special about these SS 1LE. I also like the fact that they have a cooled manual trans and also a cooled rear differential.
They really are awesome machines!

I just picked up a 2023 2SS 1LE. Traded in my 2022 Mustang GT Premium for it. There are things I will miss about the Mustang, but all in all, the Camaro is hands down the better car. I never had a problem with the MT82, but the Tremec is definitely a huge step up.

I’ve owned pretty much every single sports car you can think of. From BRZ, s2000, multiple generations of Mustang 5.0s, 5 corvettes, 350zs, WRXs, STis, and more. Both of my 6th Gen V8 Camaros are the best cars I’ve ever owned

I hated on the Camaro before I actually saw a good looking SS in person and drove it. I assumed it had corsa or headers or something, but it sounded and performed amazing in bone stock form. I glady ate humble pie that day. The Camaro is awesome.

Just viewed your video. Amen Brother. I am an owner of a 2022 Camaro SS 1LE 6 speed manual. Couldn't describe it any better. I am not a Ford guy, not a Mopar guy nor am I a Chevy guy. I am a Car guy. I love them all. I love my Camaro. You need to take it to the track if you haven't already. A road course track. Maybe the most exciting, enjoyable and satisfying thing in life. I am still undecided, I need to take it the track again, now!!!! Get it tuned by someone who knows how to tune. You will be amazed all over again. Take care, Brother!

Got my Ordered 2020 2SS Rally Green Mettalic Kalahari Leather, Mag Ride, 1le Spec Suspension Upgrade, Dual Mode Exhaust, Sunroof, 10 Speed, Black Rims, Lit Footwell, Alloy Pedals, whew think that's all. July 2020 and Me and the Wife Love it! I'm 51 and drove muscle cars as a kid and they can't compare to the new cars. Not missing drum brakes, no power steering, shit suspension etc.. They Are Ultra Cool but unobtainable for the Average Joe, not the hundreds or low thousands we paid as kids. Congratulations and Good Luck

I purchased last year a 2011 Camaro SS Inferno Orange and I don't drive it much with a six-speed manual but every time I do it puts a smile on my face
U made the right decision. I was thinking about getting a 1le I currently have a 2017 2SS but ima probably get the 2023 2SS when it comes out. The interior of the 1le is just black. I like the white in mine

I’m using my daughters account because I don’t have a RUclips account. I love your show. It’s interesting when I first saw it I could tell you were a member of the church and then obvious leave the backdrop gave it away the beautiful Utah mountains. I feel the same way you do about Camaros. I had a 2022 SS, that I sold simply because I could and we’re trying to do a pool so I had to reserve all my funds for that. But hopefully I will be able to put an order in for my 2023ZL1LE

I agree with you totally. I bought my 2021 Camino because you don’t see very many of them and they look fantastic. Mine is a manual, but it’s a V6. I can honestly say that this is by far the coolest and most fun I’ve ever had in a car. I don’t have the best credit and it’s absolutely amazing that I was even able to get this car. I am doing my best to keep my miles low so that I can trade this in for a v8 in 2024 which is slated to be their last year for production. I love my car.

Yes they do. Gen6 V6 out performs yester-years 396 performance numbers. We are spoiled now and alot of people frown if it isn't the v8. Now, if it isn't the ZL1. Really?!?

Dodge is nice but No Handles at all. These family muscle cars are nice . Hopefully Stallantis will put some handles with the muscle in the next gen vehicles. Chevy has achieved this. Hmmm

They discontinued the 1LE package in 2022.
@@johncecchi1445 Luckily not for the SS. Just the lower trims. There were some articles a few months back that made it sound like it was discontinued on everything but the ZL1. Other articles clarified that the 1LE package would still be available for the SS. I was worried for awhile though.

I leaned hard towards the new Mach 1s.. but for the config I wanted (handling package, appearance package, etc, etc)... the price got pretty wild for a 5.0 NA car, plus markups seemed fairly common, and went with the ZL1 instead and am super happy with the choice! I initially was going for the 2SS1LE as well but ended up just saying FULL SEND in the end, haha :D Nice choice!
I came so closed on a ZL1. Just couldn’t swing it. I feel ya on the Mach1. Great car but overly priced when you tack on everything.

dude i love your videos. loved that quote at the beginning too. couldnt agree with you more about not seeing alot of 1le's. i hardly ever see any at all and i live in orange county, CA and commute to LA everyday. So i see ALOT of cars everyday. On the flipside theres 3 challengers in my apartment complex alone. Love the 1le!

i like the quote in the start and i agree camaros are more rare in each color. when i was shopping for a black 2019 ss there was only about 20 for sale in the US that fit my specs. and i love how my camaro turns corners it stays planted to the ground even if you are going fast

Great choice! You had to be honest with yourself! And so did I earlier this year! Was gunna go with a charger scatpack, but realizing I know I’d have regrets… I went with a 21 LT1.. no regrets now.

I bought a brand new 2020 Camaro 1LT in august 2020. The Camaro has been my fave car/obsession/dream car since I was 5 years old. I finally got one 2 days after my 36th birthday. I couldn’t afford aV8 at the time, but my v6 has been a lot of fun for almost 2 years now. All that said I ordered a red hot 2023 1SS with black wheels and sunroof, and red seat belts to trade my current Camaro in for since the value of my current car is still at what I bought it for in 2020. I really would have loved a 2SS, but I’m so excited and happy I can finally get the 1SS. Especially since rumor is 2024 May be the last year for the Camaro. (Well again lol) all that said I love your car, you made the right choice for you, I’m glad to see you’re happy with your choice and thanks for sharing it with us.

Love my 50th anniversary Camaro. Very rare and car that will go up in value. Have that six speed and not much worry about someone steeling it. Although it only comes out in fair weather

Congrats from your brother Camaro owner. 1 thing no one states about 2019 and up. There not just muscle cars. They are now Sports cars. They handle like a dream. Family muscle cars are nice. (Challenger Charger) Only in a straight line. Camaro is both. Can't stop driving it.Congrats again brother.

Feel the same way I bought a zl1 right before covid brand new,, I also put in every factor like daily driving can I store it for winter etc my favorite thing is I hardly see zl1s I have 0 regrets even if u keep a zl1 stock its a blast to drive 🚗

You made the right choice!! I drove a 21 challenger , a 21 gt and then the 21 2ss 1le A10 black!!..well..the 1le is in my garage! Lol..i was amazed the way it handled and all the things it does!! I absolutely love it!! I constantly go to the door and look at it!! Its beautiful!! My friends call it the bat car!! My girlfriend wanted me to buy a vette but when she seen it she said "it is pretty!..can i drive it?" Lol...whenever im a little down and out..i just hop in the ol girl and go for a ride..its all smiles then!! I didnt buy it to race mustangs or challengers..i bought it for me!! Because it makes me happy!! Its a blast to drive..when my friends drive it they are amazed as well! Everyone that rides in it or drives it falls in love with it!! They really are great sports cars!! Nice ride..im jealous..mine didnt come with the red seat belts..nice ride and great video!

I had a 2012 V-8 Camaro then upgraded to a 2015 SS1LE and now own a 2018 ZL1. Loved all of my camaros especially that there are so few on the streets. Never going to get rid of my ZL1.

I've had a 2011 2SS convertible since 2011. It is definitely my favorite car of all time. It's a fantastic day to day driver for SoCal. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealer about the 2021 build I requested. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of the new model!

@@Gonin60 The sad irony is, I went to place my order early Dec of 2019, only to discover that the build I wanted wasn't being sold in California as a week earlier due to copper in the brakes. And of course, the next year, which was updated with a copper free brake option, was delayed for an eternity... Do you know if the PDR is available on the 2SS convertible, or is it an 1LE/ZL1 only option? It's not listed as an add-on on the Chevy site...
Good for you, congrats! Future content idea, curious to see if Ford ditches the MT82 for the Tremec in all of the Stangs when they redesign the S550 platform, especially with the law suit pending. The Mach1 is pricey but awesome! I too switched to the smaller Camaro 2SS 1LE manual, super well balanced 😎😎

My friend who has a 2020 mustang gt pp2, now has a tr6060 in his car before it even had 8k miles on it.
Good choice, the car will hold its value the longest...best 'car' of the 3, most features as well but not many people know that. Will eventually get a 6th gen myself.

Just order my 2022 1LE SS today at my local dealer. Summitt White with black wrapped hood. Hope to take delivery in the next 8 weeks. I too am a formal Mopar guy had a 2015 SRT 392 Challenger nothing against Dodge but I think the 1LE is a better buy.

@@Gonin60 didn't get to test drive they only had one on the showroom floor at the dealership. I've seen enough reviews and videos to know that I'm getting a special ride that I will enjoy. The color that you have was my second choice that's a beauty by the way. But that Summitt White just kelp calling me lol.
I in my entire 52 years of living I have never worried about what other people think if you enjoy something in life you buy it most people can't afford it anyways and the majority of people are jealous

Bought 2016 2SS loaded-Mag ride-auto-new!!-70000 miles later and cross country trips in comfort I still can’t believe you can buy a car this good off the show room floor-when I was looking to buy it was the only and still the only car I can afford that feels like a track purposed car every time I drive it-cross country averaged 30 mpg to Canadian gallon and I drove it anyway I wanted-comfort is great for 700 mile days-drive in sport mode continuous--drive year round in Canada-actually wish I had a 1LE-by the way this is not my first car of this type-I have owned lots of muscle cars and built pony cars-nothing compares to this!!-I am 66 years old-drive the wheels of my car and would gladly purchase a new 1LE-and consider a new or used ZL1-although a lot of the ZL1 power can’t be fully utilized and keep your license and yes I have driven them--
So glad you’re enjoying your ride! They are great machines and can be great daily drivers. You did great on MPG. My best is 24.5 on the highway. Maybe it will just take some time to break in.

Great great video. I’ve had a couple mustangs gt’s , a 5th Gen SS Camaro and currently have a Ram 1500 with the 5.7 in it. So kinda a taste of all 3 brands. But I just placed an order for a 2022 2SS 1LE and this video was so relevant to me. I went through every emotion you talked about when deciding what to buy. I thought about the 10spd but I just couldn’t do. No way I was getting this car without a manual. I’ve always had them and I wasn’t going to buy what potentially could be the last new muscle car I ever buy in an automatic. I’m probably 14 weeks out on the build and already I’m dyin to get into it. Thanks so much for a great video. I really enjoyed it. 😎🏁

I have a 2021 2ss 1le A10 and i thought same thing but i went with the auto..its amazing!! Fast as hell!! Shifts are lightening fast..and i average 24.9mpg.. glad i went with the A10 ..i can sip on my coffee if i want or i can run thru 9 gears if i want..its awesome!!

Bought a 2017 2ss convertible brand new. Kalahari top and interior. I get more compliments on that car than any I’ve ever known. A little side note you will eat a challengers lunch in a race . They are just to heavy.

First great video here Austin, but yea man I know exactly where you're coming from. When I got my Challenger I was listening to someone else about what to get I originally was gonna get a Camaro and once I got the MOPAR I liked it but I didn't love...not one bit it had more cons than pros for me so it had to go... not to mention the Mopar community is a weird place lol...I love my 2SS and wouldn't trade it for anything....

I got a 2022 Camaro LT1! 455 horse’s is very respectable for that LT1! Plus if I wanted to up grade the car all I have to do is supercharge it and I’ll have a ZL1 with out all the stuff your car has or the ZL1 has ! And possibly faster cause my car will be lighter then yours ! My cat isn’t here yet ! And now I’ll have to wait till summer to even get to drive it ! But I’m super excited 😊 and I’ll try post it on here on you tube !

I'm in Texas. Trucks are BY FAR the most populous vehicle on the roads here. That said, I see pretty much the same amounts of various trims of Camaros as I do Mustangs and Challengers here. They are all represented here. Black Mustangs are a popular sight, but I did things to mine to make it stand out from the crowd. Some look similar, but none are exactly like it.

The Camaro, is the only car in my mind, that makes sense. Basically it comes down 2 what's affordable, and what u are feeling 💯. My concerns about the Camaro, if I were 2 get one is the monthly note, insurance garage space 2nd daily driver vehicle 💯. Now the reality, of the Camaro, being discontinued after year 2024 really concerns me 🤔🤔. I really would like to know 1rst hand about the car I wanted since I was a kid before it's gone 💯.

Simple question for the Camaro owners. I test drove a v6 LT3 Camaro before buying my 2SS 1LE. I had never sat in a Gen 5 or Gen 6. The v6 test drive had a manual. Smooth and easy clutch and shifting. Get in the 1LE and the clutch is smooth but also pushes back. Seems much stiffer. Engagement is narrow. Very touchy and I have driven and owned manual trucks, compacts, atv's, dirtbikes street bikes, heavy equipment, 1 ton dually with granny low. This initially was the most challenging clutch pedal I had driven. Laugh, poke fun, whatever, just looking to clarify this ordeal. Is it the 1LE track version? I have not driven a 1SS or 2SS. 1le is the track version. That was my 6th gen. I actually found the clutch to be light. But I would recommend driving other cars with clutches. The challenger I had was by far the stiffest. Mustang had the lightest. The shifter in the Camaro is the best imo.
By shifter I mean manual transmission
i kind of went off the same bases...i test drove the camaro and feel in love with the view while driving. Test drove the challenger just did not like the driving view. But unfortunately did not test drive the mustang. And where I live there are not a whole lot of camaros driving around. Though mine is now stored for the winter.

I have the 1SS, I really didn't care which one I got one of the things I love is the sparse interior just not a lot going on. I love love HUD I missed having it for so long as well as some of THE best looking OEM rims on the market makes it look like a true muscle car and last but not least, the satin finishes mine is all black and holy shit the satin hood and other pieces just make the car looking amazing thank you Chevy for doing all of that and making this car look so fucking badass.

Have to agree with you, Camaro is not often seen on the highway. Go to the track and you see the SS/1LE, ZL1 and Mustang well represented but hardly ever a Mopar(talking road course here). Got a ‘19 1LE and sold it before the summer to my dealer as the money was too much to turn down. I really enjoyed that car on the track but hard to fully enjoy on the street as tire always cold, outward visibility issue. After another round of exhaustive research here I am, waiting for my ‘22 1LE...still the best bang for the buck (IMHO) in the OE ready track car plus the misses likes the sound and even enjoys driving it. Get one while you can. If they offer the rumored ‘24 farewell edition sign me up.

I have a 2014 SS 1LE and have daily driven it since day one. I broke a rear wheel when I hit a loose piece of rebar on the highway and it was a mission to find a new wheel but other than that I don’t think I’ll ever get another car until I. An afford an equivalent corvette.

I have the 2021 1SS 1LE with the 6 speed. I absolutely love it. I only have about 400 miles on mine and read that break in is 1500 miles. What is your thought on that.? My 2019 Challenger Hellcat was only a 500 mile break in period, but was also boring due to being an automatic...
So many opinions on the topic. I babied mine til 1000 miles now I’m slow pushing it more to 1500. I think after 500 your good but I understand waiting for 1500 too.
I've owned Camaros for 30 years. Having said that I am currently looking into buying a Challenger Scat Pack. I test drove a slightly used 2019 2SS and felt too cramped. I love the looks for the 6th gen but the small trunk, interior is not for me. I agree with you on the manual transmission option. Its why the Charger is off the table for me. Mustang is a fun car to drive as well. Enjoy that beautiful Camaro because this muscle car era is coming to a crashing end soon.
You will like the Challenger. The clutch gave my leg a work out the most but has much more space. Enjoy!

Anyone else think the body kit on the ZL1 looks a little too cartoony? I've been wanting to get a new Camaro ever since I sold my 5th gen last yr, and the body kit and the wheels on the ZL1 is the only thing that's keeping me from getting one of them. I much prefer the look of the SS 1LE with the standard rockers wrapping underneath the car. It makes it look like an old school track car, which is definitely a good thing.

The camaro is an amazing car. Get what you like, if it makes you happy it makes you happy. It's a much nicer car than most of the ones you see on the street anyways. Nice video
