I am old school, and for the life of me, can’t understand a car with black rims. Especially when you buy expensive black rims. Why not just get some old style rims take the hubcaps off and paint them black. Save your self a thousand dollars and will look exactly the same cruising the boulevard, as black high end rims. Black tires, hey! Let’s really set it off and put on black rims. That’s beautiful? you are crazy.

I've got a manual 24 Golf R.....was really hard to find a white one....had to buy it out of state and get it shipped. After some upgrades...18" neuspeed wheels, pilot sport 4s tires, with their 370mm rotors with 6 piston calipers, short shift kit, and neuspeed german springs....this car is a friggin blast to drive and handles amazingly. BUT you'll have to get over the infotainment system BS with NO buttons....so it is a hazard to do something like switch to recirculated air for example.

I bought the Type R and sort of wish I had taken a careful look at the Golf R. The thing is, I have a Mk7 GTI and really like it but figured with VW, I would probably be working on the the V dub GTI or R more-so than the Honda. That may or may not be true but I like the size of the Golf more so than the larger Civics... Oh well, they are both good cars. I do think the Type R will hold it's value better over time... at least I hope so.

Reliability issues? What are you stuck in 2000s? B58 been reliable since I owned it 2020 of August 2021 Supra 3.0 premium in red had it for 4 years now 0 issues and I mean zero issues mechanically , few issues I had was windows was stuck won’t roll down and Toyota just reset it that’s it . Been good car . Love the car , was gonna get ZL1 1LE before this but I’m glad I did not , it gets looks even after 4 years lol

I’m curious, by plugging it to the OEM headlight dimmer, does it control both the headlights and the LED kit simultaneously? Did you somehow disconnect the headlights and control only the LED kit? Is it better to order a new OEM dimmer in order to be able to control both the headlights and the LED kit?

for those wanting to buy one of these, i wouldn’t. if you are super tight for space then go with a sealed enclosure rather than a ported enclosure (with a hole) like this. in small box volumes sealed sounds much better

I had a 6.4 charger now 5.7 durango. The weight of the durango kills the potential of the 5.7. I miss my charger 😅

Wanted an Si or Integra but kept jumping back and forth and finally accepted that I shouldnt give up on this because of rtv or oil pressure issues. Its the closest i can get to a db5 aston martin on a budget

I drove a Cobalt SS/SC for close to 15 years and basically ran it into the ground. I kept it for so long because I didn’t like any of the new small cars until I drove the new GR86. The interior may not be the flashiest, but it is hands down better than many previous cars out there. The 2022 plus platform is nearly as fast as a WRX STI as it is. All the complaints are trivial in my opinion and are easily addressed if it is such a big deal. This is the most affordable back to basic sports car out there. Boxer engines are by far some of the most reliable engines and if anyone is concerned about the rare oil issues then you can get a bolt on oil cooler. Chances of it happening on a daily driver are rare.

I’ve owned 3 Type Rs and currently own one. Also owned a manual Elantra N and it’s a GREAT car. If I couldn’t have a type R, no question I’d go back to the N. I loved driving it. If you get one, PPF the front asap, the paint is very very thin. You’ll have rock chips really quick

Hey! Good content. I need some advice please. 1. I plan xpel PPF wrapping my black 2024 Honda civic. I was told that xpel ppf wrap is self healing. I worry that since black color is more noticeable to swirls, can swirls be shown on ppf wrap? Yes or no? Also if so, since ppf is self healing will those swirls go away on its own without doing any work to remove swirls? 2. I exclusively want to wash my car with little physical touch as possible to avoid any scratching on my ppf. I plan to do touchless wash and dry off using a blower. Are touchless wash good? Keep in mind I live in Cali, so my car becoming extremely dirty by dirt and mud is not something that usually happens since I’m in an urban setting. Please let me know what advice you can give me for both points I made 😊

I don't think I've seen one of the new Elantra models in person yet, but I absolutely hated the old one's looks. Seems like a pretty decent all-around car, but in my case I don't think it's something I would buy - not dedicated enough for a weekend fun car, and missing some creature comforts and liveability as a daily driver. Plus, I just don't care for FWD any more. I can do a front-biased AWD system, but I just don't think I care for a strictly FWD architecture any more. On a side note, saw my first new Nissan Z cars a couple of weeks ago. Only saw it from the back, and it looked like whoever was driving it was doing some filming as they had one of those long poles with the camera on top that they had stuck on the rear window. This is the only time I've ever seen one, and just like the new Supra they're unicorns around here.

Might be trading the 1LE in on a GR Corolla anyday now when it comes in the dealer. All depends on if I like the car when I test drive it. Those N are not bad for the price but I just am not a fan of anything that is supposed to be fun and FWD

I think they’re cool. Wouldn’t mind one if I wasn’t in my 40s. But the aesthetics seem a little juvenile to me. I definitely wouldn’t trade my GTI for one. I get your position though…going from an R to a GTI could be rough. I say go with an SE 380 and go stage 1 with a rear sway bar upgrade and wheels when/if you have the funds. They’re super fun to zip around in and I love the interior in mine.

Nice comparison overview. Central Europe here, going for Chally next year. Have tried 5.7 automatic, 6.1 automatic, haven´t tried 6.4 yet. But I want it for daily cruising and trips, I have zero ambition in moding/upgrading. Just want the car with simple mechanics, old vibes, great sound and it is damn comfortable (back issues here). What I don´t like is weak brakes but that speaking I´m using engine to slow down a lot and I don´t really need to "race", I´m happy just being in and feeling the ability and sound. No need to show off to be ashamed by average 1.3 ton turbo powered 2.5l :D But that´s not the point. Gas is also more expensive here than in US. Good thing is these cars don´t lose value at all with years. But when I had 5.7 for three days and did almost 1000 km with all profiles - countryside bad roads, highways, speedways, congested city traffic, slow and fast sections anywhere, curvy hills, constantly trying acceleration and playing and still got 10.3 (calculated, not from computer) l/100 km, which is like 23 mpg. Mind you we have higher speed limits here in miles/hour - 31/57/81 and that speaking, one drives faster most of the time. But when you have this power and revs around 2000 at 80 miles per hour with ZF transmission, it´s no problem. Always wanted it since it came out, I´m vintage lover, but have no funds and space to have more cars. I also have company car available, but I´m pretty sure I would only drive Chally :) Winters are getting mild, I don´t drive cities at all, so this gonna be not that expensive fun as people are usually afraid. I believe we have the same car. I mean identical. Except mine has ceramic tint and a Borla Atak cat back. My gears are 25, 35, 50, 70.

I hardly let my Subaru wrx warm up or get it up to temperature before I take off. But I do let my car cool off for a few minutes before I turn it off. Im going to start warming it up or get it up to temperature before I start it. Thanks for the advice mate!!

I bought one close to 5K under MSRP, its worth the bump from limited because of the brakes, suspension, seats and steering change. The price i bought it at will likely make it easy to trade in for the tS. The car drives like a dream and has a ton of tuning potential, it can also fit a normal size human. These cars are available at low prices because everyone is waiting for the tS or throwing away 5-10k on limited production GRs.

Question, once you unlock the hidden menu, you see BC-0 with a diagonal line through the 0. Once clicked it shows you a distance counter reading. What is that ? And should it read the same as the odometer??

I had the 2023 WRX was to boring no wow factor. I got rid of it and got golf gti 2024 so much funnier to drive. I do not regret getting rid of wrx. They didn’t remove any of the features when I bought. I have automatic GTI no wheel hop. WRX rides like crap we have rough roads here. I don’t like the lost in space infotainment screen looks like the robot from lost in space.

Does the aftermarket subsystem require its own amp? How is it connected to the main Hk sound system?

In 1992 I had a choice of new 454SS 3 speed auto pick up or 350 Sport pick up with 5 speed manual. Went with the 5 speed and drove it for 20 years. Sold it to by a house. Today I bought my first Challenger Scat Pack with manual. Can't wait to feel like im in my 20s again with a manual V8 muscle car.

RTV is not the cause. Drops in oil pressure due to high G turns is. The oil does not return to the oil pan fast enough so you'll have loss of pressure.

Did you run a remote wire from the fuse box to turn on when the car is powered on? Just for the same set up and trying to figure that part out before install. Great video btw, appreciate it!

One time my sunroof stop working and i got caught in rain. Had to pull over and remove battery to reset it

Also id recommend a tune. Had my mk8 for 3 months. Put about 19k miles on it so far on 034 e85 tune. No problem so far.
