This is identical to the rest of the german manufactures - BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes are the same as this

With all the GDI fuel injection, CVT transmissions, plastic engine parts and poorly built cars available today, a long term bumper-to-bumper warranty is absolutely necessary.

I like the sound of the Hyundai and Kia warranties but hear stories of dealers fighting warranty claims.

It's probably a trade off of adding an extra year of bumper to bumper vs power train. I've learned many car brands quality control has gone down with more complex cars the past few years. The electronics are probably the biggest risk. Also many dealerships don't properly honor warranties.

If you go back to right after Dieselgate happened, VW was desperate to bring people into their dealerships so they began offering a killer warranty. I believe it was something like 6 or 7 years, and even covered you if you weren't the first owner. Don't know how long that lasted, but it was pretty great.

I’ll have to go check it out. Thank you!

Pretty sure all the German companies are 4/50 for new car warranty and powertrain.

even covered you if you weren't the first owner
Isn't that, like, standard? In Europe we have trash warranty (2 year 40.000km) but most people buy the extended warranty to 5 years 100.000km. Extended warranty always transfers to a new owner as long as service history is consistent

@@King_Kenny66The lux brands, but VW added that 4th year around 2018 (ish).

The GR86 warranty is a bit weird. Are you sure it's not covered by the 15 year warranty like in the rest of the world?
