The assembly line, factory floors all have plants and trees growing inside, natural sunlight through ceiling skylights. Small park like areas for staff to relax. Music playing softly from overhead. Refreshed cooled air. Messengers ride three wheeled bicycles around the floors. It’s a calm, non noisy, peaceful happy non toxic work environment where they hand produce some of the world’s greatest exotic cars.
And we watch RUclips videos of them burning to the ground or getting destroyed by junk Teslas 😂 screw Ferrari and their endless supply of self important snobbery.
It really was. When I was a kid I absolutely loved the gt40. To see a movie about its history and all the lore behind it was just amazing to me. Good God that car was killer.
Ford made Ferrari eat crow and nearly ran them out of racing and they did it with an engine design that was mass produced not one of 8 that were hand made AND Joe Blow could go to ANY Ford dealer and order the parts to build the engine until about 1969.
How's that working now? Ford makes chinese t-shirt cars, and Ferrari is still getting 250k for each one they build. Any one of us could've used Fords massive resources to build a race car. They didn't build one, they BOUGHT ONE.

After an unsuccessful season Ford shipped everything involved with the 2 cars to Carrol Shelby racing and by the time the GT40 began being successful the engine, transaxle, oil system, cooling system and parts of the suspension and brakes were ALL re-engineered by Shelby and Ford motor company. You obviously have little to no understanding of how race cars were constructed then or now. The body/chassis tub of the first 2 GT40 were not even constructed by Lola as they outsourced body construction to Abbey panels of Coventry England. Most racing operations outsource parts construction for their cars as owning the engineering and casting, forging, machining and testing facilities is beyond the scope and finances of all but a few racing operations and that is today not 1964. Ford manufactured inhouse the engine and transaxle for the GT40 FROM RAW IRON ORE AND BAUXITE. NO racing operation or car manufacturer did that then or now. Your comments disclose how able you would be to buy anything to build or campaign a world competitive race car no matter how much money you had.

Any awd Huracan will hit 60 in low-mid 2 seconds and do low 10’s in stock form, not bad at all for 500-540awhp (depending on dyno and conditions) Obviously it handles very well and the EA824 V10 is well known to be able to hold 2000hp on stock internals. Pretty insane for a naturally aspirated street car engine. If you compare it to other similar cars, it’s definitely a well performing car. Of course if you compare it to a 720s that makes 200whp more, it won’t stand a chance

I stood next to a Ford GT40 at SIR in Kent, WA. I was a boy and I was impressed by how low it was. It just had not come across in Road & Track photos how small the car was. Remember the same thing with the Cobra.
