I play Curse of Opulence frequently and by far the most overlooked aspect is that Gold doesn't need to tap (and thus works through Blind Obedience). Since you get a Gold whenever it triggers for anyone, your resource generation outpaces (or at least maintains parity) with your opponents. The card has done a lot of work for me in grindy games and is well worth the 1 mana investment.
I remember a poll on Reddit a few years ago on the Cedh subreddit, asking "What is one mistake most Cedh players make that you are also guilty of" (Not the exact wording but something like that) and people kept adding new options to the multichoice answers, and by the end, more than 80% had answered "Don't play enough lands".
In much the same way that 60 card standard/modern Japanese players seemed to be way ahead in the early 00's deck building wise, they are ahead of us in responsible deck building inclusions for cedh. I slotted in Faerie Artisan and Aboleth Spawn into my Derevi list because, mid range lists will continue to jam broken creatures with great etbs and am I really doing everything I can to win when I can also playing those creatures? Plus both give us bodies to untap with which is extra value.
_M_I_N_D_ Goblin Oh, some cards that have helped my Korvold recently are: Fungal Infection (Dominaria common) - The interaction is priceless vs. early threats (Ragavan, Bowmaster mirror especially, Faerie Mastermind) Also can prevent some Dockside loops, which have been recently appearing in my LGS meta !?. The 1/1 token left behind also is great for Diabolic Intent or future Korvold. Stalactite Stalker (Lost Caverns of Ixalan rare) - Kills Magistrate at just the right time ;) Vexing Devil (Avacyn Restored rare) - This is one of my favorite *political* cards, by ransoming the table straight away. "Whomever pays the 4 life will incur my wrath" etc Then proceed to beat up people who skip ahead in game-state. With the classic excuse *Oh,you have a Rhystic Study out already?* Boseiju, Who Shelters All (Champions of Kamigawa rare) - This really helps push many 3rd turn mid-game refuel spells: Wheel, Ad Naus in spots I would usually be hesitant to cast. Also is great with Tibalt's Trickery. Great video & discussions thumbs up _b. Get some sleep Matthew.
Worth adding to the Dragon Shield discussion, I placed an order for ~$120 of sleeves (between their standard matte and dual matte). I waited 3-4 weeks for it to arrive, and upon still having not received anything, I sent an e-mail to their customer service, who then told me that they were out of one of the colors I had ordered, and issued me a refund. What bothered me about that is, what would have happened if I hadn't reached out? Were they just going to keep my money and never let me know what happened? It was just shady as heck. Outside of that, though, I've had great experiences with Dragon Shield. Their products look, feel, and shuffle extremely well, they're durable... honestly the dual mattes are probably my favorite sleeve out there. But hearing another bad customer service experience as well as other folks in the comments, it makes me question the integrity of the brand.
*note, when the orders have processed correctly, their shipping is very quick. Most recently they arrived only two business days after the order was placed. **also note on original post: DS customer support stated that they cannot do partial refunds, which is why my order was lost on the aether, but that doesn't excuse the lack of communication or action before I reached out
After using dragonshields for 10 years, with the past few years of bad batches, i have abandoned dragon shields for katanas. Hurts not having a ton of color options, but i value functionality and longevity as someone who only single sleeves (even my duals and reserve lists)
I enjoy my BCW elites. Sleeves (inner and outer) and deck box for $10. Bought them wholesale for $5 per bundle and use the deck boxes for card storage. Would like a bit fancier of a deck box but the sleeves are great.
Lightning Bolt 🌩 ⚡️stops a lot of Kinnan, tymna, random pirates , dockside combos, bowmasters, magistrates, etc. I only play about two games a week so i dont know if its good 😊

I've been saying Katana are the best sleeves for ages. I'm not a fan of Dragon Shields since half the packs I've bought of theirs all got bent corners really quick and don't shuffle smooth either.
In general I think that we’re finally reaching a point where cards should be evaluated on a deck-by-deck metric and not just auto included because of staple status. I wasn’t on Culling Ritual in Reyhan/Kraum for almost the exact same reason Eric pointed out (I am on it now though) and I think people really should evaluate all the cards with how they work with your strategy not just like “everyone runs this so I have to”.
Gamegenic boxes are the best... For sure. And I use ultrapro Eclipse for most of my decks (except for my most expensive one), and those are perfect for single sleeve, and cheaper than most top end sleeves and just like half step lower on quality.
I ordered a case of Dragon Shields off of Amazon, and the quality level is not what I usually expect, the esged are cut very unfinished, the size is just barely smaller than my other ones(only noticeable when inserting cards, because it makes it very difficult) and I've heard this from people other than myself. It may be time to make the switch 🤔
@LemorasCards I just got a free set of Heavy Play curves at an event. I'm checking them out on a legacy deck right now. The shuffling is very smooth, and no bent corners. I've heard they don't last though. We'll see 🤷♂️

I was the kinnan player lol. That was a tough position for the Thrasios player and at the time I was showing only infinite colorless. I didn’t drop ezone for land until after he let it resolve.
Been a fan of your content for a while now, first time to comment. I'm a big fan of Katana's & UltraGuard's new Apex sleeves. They make shuffling so easy & slick. Dragon Shield's Mattes are 3rd best for me but their custom sleeves are by far the worse sleeves i've ever used.

I've been playing TN k for a few years and I've been playing brena. As a high power casual deck Since release, and it's a creeper bro. Like you gotta turn coming around to you. You got a giant bird that smacks. And it's gonna draw you a card on trigger. It beats it is political It's fast
Could be worth thinking about in a creature heavy deck. Doesn't have the same pressure on life totals, but could still do some good work for the reasons you listed.
It triggers once for each opponent of yours that is attacked that isn't at the lowest life total. You can (basically) trigger it twice per turn, getting four +1/+1 counters, and drawing two cards if you're the attacker.
You can draw up to two cards a turn with Breena. It triggers for each opponent attacked who has more life than another, so if you attack two players at 40 life while another is at 35, you get two triggers.
Every single set of Dragon Shield dual mattes that I have purchased has been useless within the first few games. Multiple sleeves have ruptured at the corner and completely ripped during the second and third games, routinely (regardless of color). My OLD Dragon Shield sleeves continue to be reliable, but I would NEVER recommend new Dragon Shield product to other players using genuine cards.
I dislike Blood Moon effects unless you have a lock on the board. I've seen them give the game to turbo players and lock out the table police so many times.
Katanas easily the worst sleeves I have ever tried in my 25 years of playing card games. Id rather play penny sleeves then Katanas again. They are just that bad.

If breena is good does that make Gix good too? More total card draw, lack of counters, has the activated as a way exploit a long game
