Using the word “cheap” is very derogatory and rude to the Mexican People and Culture. Who is it “cheap” for? There are more respectful words to use like: Affordable, less expensive, lower cost, comfortable etc…Since you are living in Mexico and not just a “tourist”, it is more respectful (which I am quite sure you would like to be respectful to people in another country) to use any other words besides “Cheap”. Thank You

Merida is hotter. As far as bugs honestly it’s never really been a problem for me. we have our apartment fumigated every so often so that takes care of the problem. if your choosing between playa and Merida your deciding factor will probably be how important living by the beach is

look up different playa Del Carmen expat groups on Facebook including ones for just apartments rentals and make posts of what specifically what you are looking for and you will get results. also you can just take a walk and you will see tons of numbers posted outside of different apartments and complexes that have places for rent.

Where did you emmigrate from in the USA? The space looks tiny. Did you need to acclimate to less home square footage or was your move from someplace similar in size? I'm in NE Wisconsin feeling claustrophobic watching the video and have a few other sincere questions:
*Does it feel like "home" to you?
*What's it like finding employment if fluent in Spanish?
*What's the prognosis for employment if not fluent in Spanish?
*How long does it take before your body acclimates enough so you can drink water from any faucet?
*Are you in a gated apartment building? How far from a city does one need to be to live confident of their safety without gated entry or extra security over doors/windows?
*Where are the bowling alleys and movie theaters? (I've never spotted any when visiting Mexico but surely they exist.)
*What do you love most about Mexico being your new home?
THANKS in advance for answering. =)
