What areas of Playa Del Carmen do you like best?
Love the Mamitas Beach Area. Oceana Residences there are gorgeous!
Centro

Zazil Ha. Thank you for sharing this tour.
I think renting is the best option. Playa is no longer reasonable in price
very informative ,some of the building to me looked old and not so good and not worth 300 000 usd for a small condo
That was an awesome video! Transported me right there! So insightful, thank you so much❣️
Just got home from a week in Playa. Had a pounding headache my last morning there though because of 2 restaurants close by blasting techno music until 2 am. Same drum beat for 6 hours straight. Probably worse than Guantanamo waterboarding torture.
Such an informative video. Thank You for creating such genuine content.
This video was so helpful for me!!! Thank you so much!!! 🙂
Great content! Thank you for your kindness and this valuable information.
Cheers from Peru 🇵🇪
This was so useful. Thank you!
This video was very helpful. Thank you
You went past all the areas that I have stayed and love! It was just like being there! My friend has a shop on 38th, up from 'Shangrila'. :)
Great video. Thank you. New subscriber. More views outside, map locations and apples to apples comparisons would make it even better.
Thanks for posting this really great video of PDC.
awesome. I am happy you enjoyed it!
I needed this today. Gray and cold up here in the northeast.
Will watch next week for continuation of this trip...thank you dear
absolutely! :)
Been to Playa many times. We love it
But to touristy for us to live
Thanks for sharing

Loved my visit there!
This lady sounded a little suspect every time she was asked about pricing. That’s your job. You should be able to rattle off numbers in an instant. Otherwise, very nice video.
What they don’t tell you is how much scam goes into the sale of the houses and also how shitty the material is because in a few years you’ll start to notice the imperfections or in less time
Finally someone mentions this. It´s built by workers who are hired because they are from very poor areas of the country and they are NOT professionals. Lived there for 6 years... full of corruption, crime, money extortion. The entire area from Cancun down to Chetumal is run by the cartels. The local authorities are clueless and frankly not better than the drug cartels. Think twice before you consider moving there...
And as the blonde Lady in den video says.... it´s a "cash" country. Be prepared to pay for everything double if you are a foreigner, even for your gardener, the cleaning lady or the corrupt offical who needs to stamp your visa card.
Where to live? Y’all drove around and didn’t show anything in specific
OMG! I have a friend from Colombia. She looks exactly like the lady driving! How amazing she could be this lady's sister.
Did we mention in the video that Susana is Colombian from outside of Bogota! :)
@@ModernAging Sorry I missed that but anyhow please let her know that she has a double in Colombia. She should promo Colombia.
there were a lot of video/edit breaks in this upload..so, would you please consider uploading a companion video with arrows added? in order to consistently show, in which direction, the beach /east coast/Riviera Maya can/could be located?? thanks!!🗺
Many thanks for a most professional video. I will seek this agent should I need service in PDC. ATB from lovely Cancun.
Hello Modern Aging, I am new to your channel. I truly learned so much from your interview with David in Playa Del Carmen. Have you done any interviews with individuals late 50s who are on social security disability and on choice voicher/section8? This would be good for us folk who are blessed in this type of living. Thank you in Advance.
Wait. They accept section 8 in Mexico
@@Debraclark900 Hi Debra, Not Sec8 in all Mexico...
How about Uber??? I find it very convenient when I visit family in Querétaro. Great info. Thanks.
No Uber available due to taxi mafia
How do people protect equipment, including cars, from the effects of the humidity and salt in the air? What about houses, condo, apartment interiors? Fascinating video..... What are the areas with amenities within walking distance besides Fifth Avenue?
hearing mexico is changing its citizenship where its getting a little difficult to become one?
i asked someone on another video about the sushi in mexico lol i eat it almost everyday
I much prefer Puerto Vallarta to Playa. I think the beach is better in Playa, and maybe a bit cheaper to live, but other than 5th ave, it is a pretty boring town. The weather is far better in PV, more restaurants and entertainment, better views because not flat like Playa, and more of an expat destination rather than just a place to visit. Also PV has an airport where as to get to Playa you have to fly to Cancun
We like PV more but with the flight prices and having 2 college kids in the US, we will move to Playa... $200 tickets to Playa vs $500+ to PV
they definitely have 2 different vibes... but both have their pros and cons. :) but ultimately I've met amazing people in both places.
Two beautiful ladies
I’m looking to one day son retire to Mexico but am concerned with all the videos i keep seeing that show displacement of the local cultures and customs when foreigners who’ve relocated bring their “beliefs/lifestyle and cultural insights”…
I totally understand. Most of the videos are certainly from the foreigner perspective... when foreigners do relocate in other countries it is important that we do our part to be respectful of their culture.
come to my "home town" of nyc. it's all foreign.. they look at me now like i'm the stranger.
That's probably why the expats move there...? It's more comfortable, with mix of 'exotic'... Why do you want to move there? Wouldn't you be a foreigner relocating? Maybe pick a small town in the middle of the country?
Throughout history, people have moved around willingly and sometimes under duress. The US as a nation began when European migrants went to a Native American land and later invaded forcefully. I understand and share the concern for the locals, but it shouldn’t deter migration. Mexicans are moving to the US and other countries just as immigrants/foreigners are moving to Mexico.
Best wishes.
What is the best way to find long term rentals in the Shagrila area?
Where’s the best golf course communities?
Can you refer projects were you like the developers
Ya gotta be nuts, for $300,000 you can live like a king for 20 years here.
Do taxis allow you to bring your dog with you?
Same prices as Montreal...
I cannot get on Susana's website.
sorry about that! the website address changed - it's now susimacdonald.com/
@@risam Thank you
The law says 3 floors, but it is being evaded
Playa is going to face a depression soon. Too much ridiculously expensive inventory, and nothing of much interest in the city. It is no longer a reasonable little retreat.
Is it mid age(55+) single pple there?
for sure. I am 54 and have met several middle aged people there. ;)
Thanks
I'm moving there for the new year
Nice!!
So I love Playa Del Carmen but honestly the recent cartel activity makes me not want to visit that area. I feel Puerto Vallarta is by far the best retirement area🇲🇽🏝🍓
To be honest thus seems like it's becoming super pricey and overbuilt I guess the downtown Parr. That's not my price or my vibe. Looking for quiet, traditional and short walk to beach. I should probably listen to the part just before little Italy and around outside??? I am more the 400. to 700/800 $$ renting. Not buying real estate...this is a very good show, none the less
what's with not wearing your seat belts?
thanks for your concern. we are wearing seatbelts if you look carefully...they are under our arms because we were wearing mics just where the strap hits, we had to wear it under our arms. but indeed we were wearing them
Seatbelts 😂😂😂❤
Too much looking at you two. Show where you are driving. This was more like a talk show.
Playa del Carmen is overpriced and overrated . Had a condo in cancun for 15 yrs .sold it 2003 and go to the west coast now .
A bicycle or scooter is risking serious injury.
Susana, please fasten your seatbelt....
Is there section 8 in Mexico
The real estate lady’s way of explaining is so artificial and fake
I don't know, a lot of it looks like crappy parts of East LA. I ain't feeling it.
Don’t trust any kind of “life” coach that doesn’t know how to use a seatbelt 🤡
Boring daaaaaa.
