Hola Flor 🤗🤗 First and foremost, thank you for watching our PDC Guide Video 🙏🙏 Thank you for the suggestion, we are actually planning some more videos on Playa del Carmen, and we definitely would consider making a food tour video 🤩🤩. Sending you great vibes from Mexico 🤗🇲🇽
I cannot tell you how helpful this video has been!! Thank you so much. I was between playa and another place, and this vid sealed the deal for me. You covered everything I was looking for ❤❤❤😊
We just got back from PDC and did watch your video in advance, ty for all the tips! One day I was waiting for el fogón to open, so I lounged in MEGA and grabbed some Mexican bread/coffee in that same lounge you guys were in. Idk why but I couldn’t find panaderías so this was great to have this option. We also took a colectivo from Tulum back to PDC- that was an intense adventure ha ha. My Spanish has improved a lot and I could communicate pretty ok! EXCEPT.. went to birria de la 30 and thought I was ordering birria tacos, but I actually ordered scalding hot birria soup(when it was like 85 degrees out). I ate and enjoyed anyway 😂 I thought the vendors were a bit intense but nice as well ( but I did get asked if I want Mexican boyfriend like 9 times) omg and loved the marquesitas!! Also went to Cozumel, rented a car, went to Chen rio on opposite side of island and got the freshest ceviche de camarón of my life! And empty beach! Anyway I could go on and on but look forward to watching your content and having major FOMO about PDC until the next time I come back ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hola Amber 🤗🤗, Awwww thank you so much, we are so glad that you got valuable information and tips and tricks out of our videos 🙏🥰. Awww Mega, is one of the first coffee places we were when we moved to PDC, for some reason there are not many Panaderias is the touristy area of Playa, but we are happy you end up finding some Mexican bread at Mega 🤭. Yes, the colectivos are such and experience, but is like a must to do, if you really want to get the Playa del Carmen, experience 🤭. We are very happy to read all of your adventures you did in the region, the Quintana Roo State is rich in nature and culture and we totally believe that everyone needs to visit and that's our main mission here at For The Road 🛣. We will keep doing more adventures in the region, before we move to another part of Mexico to share more what this beautiful country has to offer 🙏🇲🇽

I have never hesitated to tell a pushy street vendor "You are annoying, go away" anywhere in the world. I treat them as time share salesmen. You owe them nothing do not allow them to steal your time or energy.
Yeah, they can be so *annoying*. Gladly we do not get so bothered by them as I (Geo) look truly local so they do not see "buying power" on me unless is slow season and they want to sell to anyone who walks in front of their stores
What I plan to say when they act like they know me is “No, no te conozco. Recuerdo a todos los que conozco y nunca te he visto.” (“No, I don’t know you. I remember everyone I meet and I have never seen you.”)
Hola John 🤗🤗. Aww thank you so much for your kind words, Playa has changed since 2017 but still has its charm, we bet you will have a great time in this little paradise 🙏🤩. We are glad to hear that our videos are helpful for you when planning your trip 🥰, thank you so much for watching and commenting this really helps our channel. Saludos amigo 😉🇲🇽
Well y'all are about the cutest couple ever! thank you for a good video - it's a lot to pack into one video and you did a wonderful job. It gave me a good springboard to look further into the areas. thank you.
Hola Angela, Thank you so much for your kind words, this means a lot to us. It was a bit hard but did our best to share the best of PDC too 🤭. We hope this helps to plan your trip to this beautiful area.
We absolutely love Playa...we went to as many coffee shops as we could during our 7 weeks there...i have to say if you get the chance go to the Fat Rabbit for breakfast or lunch....its a small little place out of the way so unique...the staff and food were absolutely amazing...i think its a must for folks traveling to the area...its a bit of a trek off the beaten path but so so worth it...i lost count of how many times we went there....it is our absolute favorite spot....we really really miss it as we sit with snow squalls off Lake Ontario....burrr.....Viv
Hello Darrel and Viv 🤗☺️ ah nooo, we hope it warms up soon for you guys, we can definitely already feel that Summer is descending on us down here 🥲🌴☀️ that is such a fantastic recommendation- thank you! We’re still in Playa for another few months, so we will definitely make our way to The Fat Rabbit - and we’ll let you know all about our experience (maybe it will even be in a video)😍🙌🏼 we both hope you’re staying healthy and warm, sending a big hug from Playa 🌴☀️
Hola Lauren, Thank you so much for your kind words, we are very glad that this video is helping you to plan your trip to PDC. We wish you have an amazing time in this paradise 😍😊
I will try to give both of you 10,000 likes, you are a great RUclips team. I am a retired male American military veteran and I like for the road RUclips.
Hola Lisco 🤗🤗 Thank you so much for such a sweet comment, literally made our day, we are so glad you enjoyed the video, and we love to create these videos for YOU ALL here on RUclips 📺. It's nice to know you are enjoying your retiring life, may we ask where are you watching us from in the States? Thank you so much for watching For The Road, this really helps us so much to grow our channel 🙏 and we are happy to keep creating more content for you amigo! Sending you a big hug from PDC 🌊 🇲🇽
Great video l will be traveling to Playa in Fall 2022 and was looking to explore the island outside of the resort area to get a feel of the actual culture. Thanks for sharing.
Hola Dawann 👋👋 Thank you very much for watching 🙏. Amazing you must be super excited to be in PDC very soon. Which Island are you interesting on visiting, would it be Cozumel? You're most welcome and THANK YOU, for watching and leaving a comment, really helps us out. 🤗🥰
Hey! I’m going to playa del Carmen in a month and I’m so excited. You guys have been so helpful!! I didn’t quite catch if you mentioned the name of the taxi app, what is it called? And are taxis safe for tourists? And out of the xcaret parks, which do you recommend? Thanks!!
Hola Sierra 🙌🏼 You must be so excited for your trip 🤩 Awww we really appreciate your kind words 🙏🏼. Radio Taxi PDC we have the link to the website and takes you straight to the app depending which which cellphone operation system you use 😊. Tough question but we are always between Xcaret and Xel-ha. But if you want to know more about Mexican culture from the other states Xcaret is a great option, Xel-ha it’s more suitable for kids 🤭. Thank you again for watching and we hope when you are in PDC you enjoy your vacation 🇲🇽🙏🏼. Cheers!

Hola Colin Gracias por ver nuestros videos. Esta región de México es increíble con muchas maravillas por explorar, seguro te encantará si llegaras a venir a esta zona 💯🫶
Love watching your videos. Can't wait to take our trip to playa del carmen in November. We definitely plan on using your suggestions and maps for a great time in Mexico.
*Hola amig@* 🙌 Thank you for your kind words. You must be so excited about your trip. November is an amazing month to visit. We're so flattered you watch our content for your trip planning. Thank you so much for the support 🙏🥰.
Hey Anneliese ☺️☺️ thank you so much for watching, we’re so glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼 that is a fantastic idea, thank you so much ☺️ we’re actually headed down to Akumal soon and we hear the sargasso is already bad there, but we’ll keep this idea in mind to make sure we get all the shots 🙌🏼☺️ we hope you have a wonderful week ☺️
Hi Simone and Geovanny, thanks so much for this guide! I'm travelling to Playa del Carmen for the first time in 2 days and I'm glad I watched this ahead of time. Muchas gracias :) Out of curiosity, have you biked much around PDC, and if so, how do you find it? I'm thinking of checking out BiciPlaya or maybe renting a bike while I'm there, because I'm staying a bit north of the city centre!
Hi Dara ☺️☺️ You must be landing in PDC today - so exciting 🥳 We haven't personally used bikes in Playa because we've noticed that the driving culture here seems to be a bit reckless - but that's just our personal viewpoint. Our neighbor goes on long bike rides daily and he always comments that Playa is a fairly bike friendly city. If you are planning on cycling around the tourist zone primarily, there are actually bicycle lanes and we see tons of tourists & locals using them ☺️🙌 We hope that you have a wonderful time in Playa Dara 🥳🇲🇽🌴☀️
Hola amig@ 👋👋 Awww thank you so much we're happy to hear you liked the style of our video 🙏🙏. Have you been in PDC recently? I (Geo) hold sentimental value to this place, because I grew up here but we really want to explore more of Mexico. PDC will always be in our hearts 🙏🥰. Thanks again for watching and commenting. 🤩
This was incredibly helpful, guys! Thank you so much! Extra thank you for displaying pricing in Canadian dollars! I will definitely use your tips on my upcoming trip! ❤
Hola Artur, thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment. Aw, we are glad that the price display has been helpful for you. We have recently made a similar video you might be interested to watch: ruclips.net/video/YCx1F_a35T4/видео.html Thank you *again* for watching amigo 🤩🫶🤗
Hola Ozmartin 🙌 Thank YOU for watching and commenting 🫶. Good question but where to stay all depends on your needs and budget. If you want to avoid the noise of the parties, we suggest avoiding the 5th Ave and check the 10th and the 15th Avenue. For Budget we suggest checking in the local areas on the other side of the highway. (Oposite to the beach side). We go in-depth on our Playa del Carmen Guide, you might want to check it out here: fortheroadtravels.com/product/the-locals-guide-to-travelling-the-riviera-maya/
Thank you so much for your videos inc your one on Parque Xel Ha. We're coming from the UK to hotel about 40k south of Playa and will definitely be paying a visit. Will be great to get you a nice local coffee as a thank you. Take care
Hola Jim Thank you so much for your comment, it's so cool you guys are going to visit Xel-há. If you haven’t bought your tickets, you can find our affiliate link to the official website of the park here, shrsl.com/3tzdm we get a little kick back that helps us to create more videos like this. Muchas gracias 🙏🤩 Awesome, PDC is a nice area to visit. Please send us a message once you're here so we can check our schedule during that particular week. Thank you again for watching and leaving a comment, we really appreciate it.
Hola Brent 🤗 Yes, of course it's called: Xunaan-Ha and it's on the way to Tulum. If you look in Google Maps you will get the way to get there 😉. Thank you for watching, we really appreciate it 🙏
*Hola Randon 🙌* We're so happy you enjoyed our video 🙏. That's awesome you must be counting down the days 🤩. We just released a video on an activity you might be interested in; you can check out the video here 👇🏻 ruclips.net/video/3G02EgdNqOM/видео.html
Thank you so much 🙏🙏 We try to make this videos informative and entertaining for anyone who's looking to travel to PDC also to Mexico and can get the most out of their trips, thank you so your support by watching and commenting on our content 🙏🙏. Gracias friend 🥰
Hola Malcom 🤗 Thank you so much, for your sweet comment 🙏. We are very happy to hear that our PDC Guide is helping you to plan your trip. Thank you very much for watching and commenting this really helps us out here in RUclips 🙌🙌
Hey Carlo ☺️☺️ ah that’s awesome- we’re sure you’re going to have a great time in Playa 🤩🙌🏼 we haven’t stayed in any hotels in Playa or Cancun, so we can’t recommend anything from first hand experience. But we can recommend looking for hotels within the gated community on Playacar (in Playa del Carmen) - it’s such a stunning neighborhood and the beaches are much quieter that any other beaches you’ll find in Playa 🏖️🤩🙌🏼
This is a great video.. Thanks! We are leaving to playa from puerto morelos...only thing with ruta del cenotes is that there is no signal there...we got lost while leaving one of the cenotes because we were not aware that there was no network there at all.... that freaked me out a lot since it is my first time traveling from europe to the american continet and i find myself lost in the jungle and its getting late 😂😂...our american friends also got lost while leaving.... it is good to keep in mind to download the map while entering the cenotes rute
Hola Inés🤗🤗 Thank you very much for watching our video and sharing your experience and tips! Yes, around that area the signal is so bad. At least you had fun, didn’t you? 🤭. Where in Europe are you from if we can ask? Thank you again for watching..
Tamales are Will's favorite, so we just saved that tamale spot on our maps! Do they sell out of tamales in the morning? That's usually the issue we find when trying to go for tamales, they are sold out by lunch time! Aggressive vendors are our favorite! 😂 You know us... where are the local markets!!?? Is it just the touristy shops off 5th Ave? & love seeing Geovany sporting the SA t-shirt!
Frieeeeends☺️☺️🤗🤗 oh ya, this will most definitely be the spot for you guys, the tamales are so good - we’d definitely recommend trying the different varieties- we love Yucatecan style, but the CDMX ones are also pretty good 🤩🙌 these guys are so good at staying stocked up, we’ve been there a few times before where they’re getting to the end of their pots and a car pulls up with like 5 more replacements 🥲😅 it’s a very popular spot for locals, and they run it well 🙌 hahaha, you two will thrive of 5th avenue 😅 haha, we wish we had the patience you guys have, both of us get so annoyed by how aggressive they can get sometimes 😅 there is a municipal market here just off the 5th avenue, but it’s very small and commercialized, definitely not the type of thing you guys would be looking for🤭 otherwise- the neighborhood that Geovannys mom lives in has a market every Friday where they sell second hand clothing, crafts and fresh produce, we’ll have to give you guys the address via Insta ☺️☺️ haha, yessss, that SA shirt is one of his absolute favorites 😍🇿🇦 we’ll see you guys here in Playa soooon 🙌🤗
@@ForTheRoadTravels Yay, glad to hear about the tamales! And yes please send us that address of the Friday market! Looking forward to seeing you both soon!
Thank you soooo much for this video!! We are coming to Playa for 4 days next week and all this info was extremely helpful! Especially the whatsapp group for taxis!! Gracias!
Hola Ash Elizabeth 🤗 Thank you very much for your sweet comment, and we are very flattered that our guide is helping you to plan your trip 🎉🥳🌊🌊👙🏝. We wish you have an amazing vacation in Playa del Carmen and you also can visit some of the places we showed in the video 🙏🙏
Hola Laura 🤗 Awww thank you so much for your sweet words, this makes our day 🥰🥰 Also thank you so much for watching, are you planning to visit Playa del Carmen soon? 🙏🤩
Thinking of going here soon for 2 months! Work online in high ticket sales, south America key for me. Need good internet, infrastructure, beaches.....would you say playa or would you recommend somewhere else?
Hola *amig@* , That's great, yes, PDC it's a good place, but if you rely of rely on fast internet we recommend staying in the beachside area where there are more places with good internet providers. PDC over any other place in the state of Quintana Roo at least in our opinion. 😉😉
Hola Asha & David 👋👋 Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🙏 We are glad you found our video informative, are you planning to visit Playa del Carmen soon? Thank you for the encouragement 🤩🙏. Saludos amiga
This was a fantastic guide guys. Thank you for sharing. I need to looking into the covid site you mentioned. I was hoping the wellness activity was going to be Temazcal, as I really want to experience one.🙂 Sorry that the dance class was not a available.
Hey Isha (is Isha your name?)☺️ we’re so glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼 yeah, you’ll get your Cvd test for wayyy cheaper than any of the pop up stands, but as far as we know, you would need to make a booking through the website first ☺️ we’d also love to do a ceremony in the near future- they seem to be happening on a regular basis in this region 🤩 I’d recommend joining a Facebook group called Expats In Playa - if you asked about it in there, people seem to be super responsive 👍🏼 we were a bit bummed, but with restrictions easing up so much, I’m sure they’ll be back in action very soon 💃🏻🕺🏾 thank you so much for watching and we hope you enjoy your vacation in Playa 🏝☀️
@@Sharedpath777 Thank you Isha 🤗 You're most welcome, sometimes these FB groups are very helpful. And thank you so much for your sweet words, makes our day 🙏🥰
Hola Kelly 🤗 Thank you so much for watching our video, we really appreciate it. It would be a pleasure, however we are away from PDC in July doing some projects 😞. But we hope you have an amazing time here, we've heard very good things about Iberostar, so we are certain you will have a blast 🤗. Sending you great vibes from 🌊 🇲🇽
May is awesome as the weather starts getting warmer during this month. In regards with the sargassum, it's actually difficult to say as it's unpredictable, lately the ocean has been looking great with low amount of sargassum, but once again is so unpredictable and can appear from overnight based on our experience. Thank you again for watching amig@ 🤩🥰
Hi guys great too see you both we were in Cozumel last week on a Royal cruise it has been almost 4 years and it was better than ever see ya both in the next one
Hola Terry and Hazel☺️☺️ you guys were in Cozumel? That’s awesome 🤩🙌 so glad you guys had a great time! The weather right now is actually ideal - glad you missed the intense Summer months ☀️🌴 thank you so much for watching- we look forward to seeing you in the next one 🤗
I’m planning a trip for my parents to PDC next month. Would you recommend Hilton Playa del Carmen? If not, what all-inclusive resort would you recommend for seniors?
Hi Ashleigh 😃😃 That is so awesome - I'm sure they'll have a great time 🙌🇲🇽 We haven't personally been to The Hilton, but it's location is really great and it looks well maintained from the outside! It's about a block away from the 5th avenue and Quinta Alegria - so walking to shops and restaurants will be really easy for your parents ☺️ If you were to book an all-inclusive that sits along the highway between Cancun & PDC, you parents wouldn't really have the freedom of exploring anything outside the resort, unless they were to take a taxi to the 5th avenue, which can become pretty pricy 😌
@@ForTheRoadTravels ok thank you! Would you recommend Cozumel over PDC (or any other city)? There are so many wonderful cities/towns in Mexico, I’m having a hard time choosing one.
Hi Ashleigh 😃 Great question! It really depends on what your folks are into. If they're just looking to take it easy at the all-inclusive, enjoy a little beach time and stroll the 5th - we'd recommend Playa. If they're more into exploring, we'd recommend Cozumel, especially if they'd like to do an island tour on ATVs or by renting an open top Jeep 🙌 If they're looking for the most pristine beaches in this whole area, plus a fun and small place to stroll around - Isla Mujeres would be a great option ☀️🌴 If they're big ocean lovers and would really want to do a lot of swimming; PDC - can get very bad sargassum, Cozumel - doesn't have very many swimming beaches, Isla Mujeres - beautiful white sandy beaches 🤩☀️ Personally, we wouldn't recommend Cancun or Tulum, but that's just down to our own preferences ☺️
Hola Yevgeniy 🤗 We're glad our video brought you back memories of PDC 🥰. Have you recently come back here? Thank you so much for watching and commenting, this really helps us out 🤩🤩. Saludos from PDC 🌊🇲🇽
Hola Amy, as far as we know, you should not be worried. Usually they live in the mangroves areas. We haven’t heard about any crocodile attack in Cenotes. 🙏🏼. Thanks for watching and for commenting. Saludos amiga ☺️
Hey Temitayo 😌 August isn't the best month in terms of weather because it tends to be very hot and humid. The sargassum is typically pretty heavy around this time as well 🥲 However, hotels rates are at their cheapest and PDC is so quiet, which can be nice if you don't love crowds 🏝️
Hola *Annie* Renting a car is the top choice; however, there is public transportation available to reach the popular cenotes. They are minivans, commonly known as Colectivos, which travel along the highway all the way to Tulum. They are super affordable but not very comfortable and not the safest option. Taxis will be so expensive 💸 If you're keen on getting into the nitty-gritty details, check out our guides and maps! 🤩 *Guide* : fortheroadtravels.com/product/the-locals-guide-to-travelling-the-riviera-maya/ *Map* : fortheroadtravels.com/product/the-riviera-maya-map/ Thanks again for watching and for your comment. 🤗🤩
Hola Annesia 🤗🤗 This is a fantastic idea, we've been talking about doing a Playa del Carmen food tour of the local restaurants instead the "most well-know touristy places" . Thank you very much for watching and for such amazing suggestion, we both appreciate it 🤩🥰.
Hola Tim 👋👋 Thank you so much, are you planning to visit Playa del Carmen this 2023? If you do so, we hope this video has been very helpful for you to plan your trip 🤩🙏
how safe is it to walk towards the higher avenues (30th avenue)? i want to go to some shops there but dont want to take a taxi from 5th ave if it is only a 10 min walk
It's super safe. The *30th* avenue is like the main road for public transport and is very walkable. However at night as in any place in the world we would recommend exercise precautions, and not going in dark isolated streets. Hope this helps amigo 🫶❤️
Hola amig@, that's awesome you *must* be so excited! Thank you for watching we're very happy to read that our videos have helped you to plan your upcoming trip 🫶 🤩
Hey Raymond 😊😊 You're most welcome, we're glad you enjoyed it 🇲🇽 The beaches right now are looking absolutely stunning 🤩🌴 That's awesome, I'm sure you'll find something to suite your needs here 🙌🙏

Hola Stephanie 🤗🤗 Thank you so much for watching 🙏🤗. We are happy that you enjoyed our Playa video. Yes, PDC has a little vibe of FL, we've been there couples of times specifically Miami, and we always say to each other how similar they are, mainly Cancun. Are you planning to visit this area soon? I just went to PDC and Cozumel in march and going back in the beginning of June, do you think the beaches are going to be clear at that time and the weather nice?
Hola Hey, Weather wise usually is very nice during June as summer is approaching, we mean hot temperatures 🔥🥵 but nice to get into the beach, in terms of sargassum it is very unpredictable and it can appears overnight, however cenotes are always a great option if the beaches are not fully clear of these algae 🤭. Let's cross fingers to have those beautiful turquoise beaches again 🙏
Hola Lorena 🤗 Thank you for watching our video, we really appreciate it 🙏. We are glad you found it very helpful 🥰. Well, sargassum is very hard to predict, and August basically falls during the sargassum season that it cannot be predict how much of the algae will impact the shores. Sometime we can recommend it's join the Facebook group: *Sargassum and Seaweed Updates Riviera Maya* , they actually share live updates on the beach conditions related with sargassum affecting the costs, we found it very helpful 🤗🙏. Hi Simone and Geovanny, Great video. We are 2 families with teenage boys. and we are planning to stay on 5th avn \16 near the Muelle pier. Is it quiet location? How it safe to rent a car? I heard a lot of scam on that? Thanks, Oshrie
Hola Oshrie 👋👋 Thank you so much we really appreciate your comment 🙏. Yes, definitely quieter than the 12th street, if you want to avoid any noise even at the 10th street is ok, but other than that, it's a great location 💯. TBH, we have rented a car once, and we believe was expensive, if you book throughout a website; like Expedia the platform offers insurance, but once you get to the car rental offices they tells you that does not have full coverage, or if something happens, you will need to deal with the insurance company to do all the paper work, BUT if you get the insurance from them, they will be in charge of anything so you do not have to deal with anything (of course more expensive, and there are always fineprints with others T&C's) but again that was on our experiences, and we haven't rented a car ever since, so we do not have a reliable company we can recommend 😰😰. Thanks again for watching and, we hope our information is helpful to keep planning your trip to PDC. Thanks again for watching and commenting, this really helps us out to our video.
Hola Paul 🤗 Thank you so much for watching 🙏 El Taj is a street away from the 5th but as far as we know the area where it is located is close to the party strip (12th street / Calle 12) unless the rooms are soundproof you might be fine, we heard from some friends that literally stayed at a hotel next to a club that they did not have any problem as the rooms we 100% soundproof and we would assume some or most of the hotels around the area will have the same features, but this is our honest opinion, we strongly check the TripAdvisor comments or Google Maps reviews from travelers who have stay in there for more accurate info. Anyway we thank you again for watch our content and commenting we really appreciate it 🙏🤩
Awwww thank you so much Alyona. Are you planning a trip to PDC soon? Thank you for watching and commenting and we hope our videos are helpful for your trip planning 🙏🤗
*Hola Shorty,* We have received a lot of requests about the taxi, at the time of recording they were only using WhatsApp for the requests, and in the past few months, we realized that they've developed 2 apps, from where you can request the service. We are working on videos and explaining how to use the app, and we will release them in the near future. Please find the websites where you can download the apps for Taxis in PDC (Android and IOS available): Radio Taxi: radiotaxipdc.com/ Tari Taxi: taritaxi.mx/ We hope this info is helpful for you 🙏🙏🤗🤗
Hola Eric, 🤗🤗 Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Answering your question, tipping is not mandatory, but happily accepted. The acceptable rate would be 10-12%, we usually give 15-20% based on good service 🤗.
What type of identification can you get as a local resident and where can you get it? I’ve read that if you are a local, the xcaret parks are half price. I’m moving to Playa but don’t know what a residential identification is or where to get one.
Hola Lou 🤗🤗 First and foremost, thank you very much for watching. I (Geovanny) am a Mexican citizen with a valid address in the Quintana Roo State, I am a holder of an INE card (Only for Citizens and Naturalised), however if you are a foreigner and moving to Mexico with a Temporary or Permanent Residency, that would be enough for you to be considered as resident of the Quintana Roo state; therefore you will get the discount at the Xcaret Parks, and even other companies 🤩🤩🇲🇽
Hola Cris 🤗🤗 This is a great idea, we might do a video on the transportation in PDC, where we can include the car rentals, as well as other options people can have where there are vacationing in the region 🚖🚍🚴♀️ Thank you for watching and for your suggestion, this is really helpful for us. Saludos from PDC 🌊 🇲🇽
Thank you for the information! We are going to PDC in a month with our kids, ages 3 and 11. We rented a car from the airport. Do you recommend that we keep the rental, or do you think we’ll be okay walking or taking public transit? I’m concerned about taxis not allowing us to ride in their car without a car seat for our 3yo.
Hey Miriam ☺️☺️ That's awesome - Playa really is such a fun spot to visit 🤩🙌🌴 A rental car will be very convenient if you're looking to a lot of day trips, like going to other beach towns, cenotes or going to the Xcaret parks 🚗 But if you're planning on sticking around Playa to enjoy the 5th avenue and the beaches here, the city is very walkable and you'll easily find taxis near the tourist zone 😁 In terms of a car seat - things are not regulated here in Mexico like they are in The States or Canada, so we can almost guarantee that the taxi drivers won't have any issue transporting your 3 year old without a car seat 😊😊 We hope you have the best time 🙌🌴🇲🇽
Hola Ximena 🤗 There's tons of parking along the street, but if you wanted something more secure, there is a paid parking lot right across from the Chedraui Selecto 38th street 🌴
Hola Best Mate 👋👋 Thank you very much for watching, we really appreciate it 🙏. Are you planning to visit PDC soon? We hope this video helps you a lot 🤗😊
Thank you! Very informative. You mentioned money... is the use of EFTPOS cards (debit or credit) not a big thing there? Generally do people carry cash?
Hola Nicolene 🤗, Thank you very much for your comment actually this is a great question, we had it in our planning notes and we missed to put it in the video. Yes, the use of Credit &/or Debit cards highly used here, even in the some of the street food stands. The only down side is that some of the places that accept Credit &/or Debit cards charge a fee up to 5% on top of the final bill. 💳 💵. People uses cash as well, but we always suggest to do not carry large amounts, and preferably change them into pesos. 🏦 Thank you very much for watching and commenting as always Nicolene, we send you a big hug from war PDC Mexico 🤗 🌊 🇲🇽
Researching my trip to Barcelo and Playa Del Carmen and have not found any tips and costs for water sports, such as snorkeling and renting a jet ski. Lots of videos mention them but do not offer any tips on how to get the best costs and best experience in the area. Any suggestions ?
Hey Stephen 😊😊 You bring up a great point - we don't have any personal experience with jet ski's in the area, but we have gone on two different snorkeling tours. The one from Cozumel was booked through a random vendor on the tourist strip. We wouldn't recommend that because they don't actually have prices on their brochures, it seems like they make it up depending on who they're talking to. Plus, that was one of the worst tour companies we've been with 🧐 The other trip was booked online through Get Your Guide and we definitely preferred this because you can read reviews and the price is standardized. This is our affiliate link for Get Your Guide if you'd like to check them out - www.getyourguide.com?partner_id=42TXFE7&cmp=share_to_earn 🇲🇽 We hope you have a great vacation 😊
Hola TT 👋 Thank you very much for watching and commenting. Yes, you can park your car on the side of the road in one of the adjacent streets where the lady sells the tamales. However, there is a supermarket called Aki, they have a parking lot, you do not need to by anything in there, also you might be able to see your car from the Tamal Place 🤗. Thank you again for watching, we hope you have a blast in PDC 🌊 🇲🇽
Thank you so much for this video overview 😊 I will be in Playa del Carmen in October for just a couple of days before heading to Valladolid to visit friends. Ill make good use of your suggestions here - esp where to get tamales which I love. Thankfully, I'm not staying right in the busy area, as I love peace and quiet 😅
*Awesome*, we're planning to make an update of this video, with the new things that PDC has to offer. Oh, the Tamales are always good, the other day we had from that corner again, but we recommend getting there early to get all the variety of them. I (Geo) like the Tamales Colados (softer corn dough), but Simone likes Tamales Torteados (thicker corn dough) 🤤😜
Hola Roman & Fizah ☺️☺️ thank you so much for always be so supportive of our channel guys, we appreciate it so much ☺️🙌🏼 we totally agree, the murals here are so well done 🙌🏼🤩🎨 we hope you guys are staying healthy and happy ☺️
Hola Konstantin 👋👋 Thank you very much for watching and commenting, really means the world to us 🙏 🌎. We hope our video helps you to plan your trip to Mexico 🤩🇲🇽
Amazing, we believe that from November all the way to January are the best dates to be in PDC. We are very happy to hear that our video is helping you, really means the world to us 🙏🌎. You must be very excited for your upcoming vacation in the following months! Sending you all the great vibes from PDC MX 🌊 🇲🇽
We filmed the broll with a Canon M50 with a 18-135mm Canon lens ☺️ and most of our vlogging is done on an Osmo action camera with an external Rode microphone attached 🙌 and we use a Mavic Mini drone ✈️ Sending you great vibes ☺️
While we were in puerta Vallarta, we used an app called in-driver. Do they have such an app in playa DEL Carmen? It's like lyft or Uber, but you bid 90 pesos for your ride and a driver may bid 85 to get your business.
*Yes* , at the time of recording this video, the Whats App taxi system has evolved more like a Uber app, you can find _Radio Taxi PDC_ either for IOS or Android and works pretty well. The fares are higher than taking a taxi on the streets (they basically charge you for using the app) nevertheless is safer, and more convenient to get units, so you pay for that service 🙌
Hola *Teddy* , 🙌 Thank you for your comment! Which one of the Wyndham Resorts' will you be staying at, there are 3 properties here 🫢. You'd probably be looking for 5th Ave, which is a beautiful area, nevertheless, it's a bit pricey and far from authentic, but you could check the 10th or 30th Avenue where you will find more local stuff. You might want to check these food tour videos in PDC: Part 1: ruclips.net/video/_HnqaLiwwwY/видео.html Part 2: ruclips.net/video/voG_INEXmbY/видео.html
That's awesome, I'm sure you guys will have a great time over here 🫶🇲🇽 Ah, I so wish we had availability, but our schedule is super packed at the moment 🤭 Maybe we'll bump into you guys in Playa ☺️☺️
Hola Hey 🤗 Seriously? We didn't know that, last time we were at CUN, was when we were going to Guatemala 🇬🇹. Are these COVID test before the security check point? Do you remember how much approximately do Antigen and/or PCR costs? Thank you so much for your information amiga 🙏🤗
Hola Chcook01 👋, Thank you for your comment and also for watching our video, really help us a lot 🙏. We'd suggest parking your car, at a parking lot right outside Paseo del Carmen on 10th Avenue, it's the closest place to the PDC ferry port. Usually, these parking spaces will ask you to leave your car key, but it is pretty safe there. 🥰🤩
Amazing, we had not seen this comment. As we mentioned on our reply above, anywhere on the 10th avenue between C. 1 sur and C. 6 norte would be the best places so you can just walk to the ferry port. Saludos amig@
Hi guys, your videos are very helpful. Are you in PDC next week. I'm flying in on Tuesday next week and would like to get together if possible, let me know.
Hola PJ 👋 First and foremost, an apology for the very delayed response, we were away and we are just catching up with e-mails, comments, and messages and we missed this until now. We hope you have had an amazing time in PDC, we are happy to know that our videos helped you to plan your trip. Thank you again for watching and commenting, really means a lot to us 🙏🥰🤩.
Hola Seb, We highly recommend using this car rental search has been very helpful for us: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=1315444&u=3301007&m=85935&urllink=&afftrack= you can add the city you want to rent a car and gives you a comparison of all different car rentals :) it's our affiliated link so when booking from there we get a little kick back that helps us to create more videos like this. Muchas gracias 🙏🤩
Hola Genis, Thank you so much, we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed this video 🙏🙏. Amazing, where in SA are you from? Are you still living there or living abroad? 🤗
Hola Nancy 🤗 Yes, the restaurant is located at this address *Calle 40 5, Zazil-ha, 77720*, pretty much just one block away from the 5th. We have left a link that redirects you to a map where we pinpointed El Pirata location 🥰 Please let us know if you find it 🙏😉
Hola Pat 👋👋 Thank you so much for watching and commenting. We haven't stayed in any hostel in playa because we reside in PDC but we have heard the hostal Selina has a good reputation in the region. We hope this is helpful for you and we really appreciate your comment 🙏🥰🤩
Hola Lu 🤗 Awwww thank you so much these type of comments really make our day, and inspires us to make more content for you guys 🙏🙏. Amazing, what places will you be visiting while in PDC? Of Course I will let the link in the next comment, because sometimes RUclips bans outside direct links in comments, so you can get it. Otherwise we have it on the video description, also I just retweeted on Twitter 🤭🤭. Thank you for watching us we really appreciate it. 🥰🥰
Here you have Lu www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1EdzmNr_jHUDTC3_ooex5edhYOfwcOG5M&usp=sharing Please let us know if you were able to have access to it 🙏🙏🙏
I have being contemplating the idea to move to Playa del Carmen; however I am so scare since if I decided to go to live there (already have a realtor) as a female and alone not sure if that will be the right move. I’m in Florida, born in Puerto Rico and Florida is not for me anymore. I would love for you guys to be my contact and tell me about a rental in Volta condos. Please do a round check an informed me if the area and place is suitable for a female alone. Please. Por favor! Thank you
Hola Sabrina, Thank you very much for your comment, we really appreciate it. Checking the area on the map, it's is on a pretty good location. We work from home, and we do not own a car and makes it hard for us to leave home a put some projects on stand by, we've been around where Volta condos is located and it's on a very good location close to the 5th Avenue, but this also depends on people's preferences, we would suggest if you could visit the area for couple of days and have a decision after your trip before to commit to move here and you are not sure about the place. We hope this helps 🙏🤗
Hola Hannah 🤗 Is called Ultimate Retreats and you can find them on Instagram we will leave their handles in the next comment; however on the video description we got the information 🙏. Thank you very much for watching and we hope this video has been helpful and informative for you 🤩🥰
We plan to visit playa and want to stay at reef 28, we also want to go to the center down by ferrt cozmel. However due to a disability I can't walk far or for a long time without pain. Is there a bus or about how much is a taxi or will my idriver app (mexican version of Uber) work in playa.
Hola Amigo 🤗🤗 Thank you for watching our video. There is a taxi company here (unfortunately the only one) they do have App where you can check rates from the different zones here in PDC, they also have the option of disability- car units (we would assume there are bigger cars than the normal taxis we seen here) in case they need to accommodate wheel chairs, or zimmer frames. The link to the app is in this Playa video description, you can change the settings into English so will be easy to navigate it. We hope this info really helps you 🙏, we wish you have a fantastic vacation here in PDC 🇲🇽 🌊

Hola Flor 🤗🤗
First and foremost, thank you for watching our PDC Guide Video 🙏🙏
Thank you for the suggestion, we are actually planning some more videos on Playa del Carmen, and we definitely would consider making a food tour video 🤩🤩.
Sending you great vibes from Mexico 🤗🇲🇽
I cannot tell you how helpful this video has been!! Thank you so much. I was between playa and another place, and this vid sealed the deal for me. You covered everything I was looking for ❤❤❤😊
Hey Lala ☺️ yay, we are so happy to hear that! We hope you have the most wonderful time in Playa - it’s a beautiful spot 🤩🙌🏼🏝️🇲🇽
Thank you Margit 🫶🤩
Anyway I could go on and on but look forward to watching your content and having major FOMO about PDC until the next time I come back ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hola Amber 🤗🤗,
Awwww thank you so much, we are so glad that you got valuable information and tips and tricks out of our videos 🙏🥰.
Thank you, so helpful. Going to Playa in Dec 2023. Going to watch all your videos on Playa.
Aw, thanks so much Ian. You *must* be so excited. Thanks we have an entire playlist on them as well as the Xcaret Parks that might help to plan your trip 🤩🫶.

Guys, your videos are great. Went to Playa every year from 2011-2017. Coming again in May! Great channel to help me prepare!
The least I can do is say thank you! Enjoy your travels.
Aw, thank you so much for *watching* and commenting, we truly appreciate it 🤗🥰
Well y'all are about the cutest couple ever! thank you for a good video - it's a lot to pack into one video and you did a wonderful job.
Thank you so much for this video! I’m planning on spending a couple of months in PDC this autumn and I so appreciate it ☺️
Hola Lauren,
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are very glad that this video is helping you to plan your trip to PDC.
We wish you have an amazing time in this paradise 😍😊
I will try to give both of you 10,000 likes, you are a great RUclips team. I am a retired male American military veteran and I like for the road RUclips.

Sending you a big hug from PDC 🌊 🇲🇽
Great video l will be traveling to Playa in Fall 2022 and was looking to explore the island outside of the resort area to get a feel of the actual culture. Thanks for sharing.
Hola Dawann 👋👋
Thank you very much for watching 🙏.
Thanks!!
Hola Sierra 🙌🏼
You must be so excited for your trip 🤩
Awww we really appreciate your kind words 🙏🏼. Cheers!
Going to Playa del Carmen in 3 weeks, thank you for the awesome tips guys!

Hola Colin
Gracias por ver nuestros videos. Esta región de México es increíble con muchas maravillas por explorar, seguro te encantará si llegaras a venir a esta zona 💯🫶
Coming over in may 2024. Really excited about it
Hola amigo, that's awesome, is this your *first* time?
Love watching your videos. Can't wait to take our trip to playa del carmen in November. We definitely plan on using your suggestions and maps for a great time in Mexico.
*Hola amig@* 🙌
Thank you for your kind words. You must be so excited about your trip. November is an amazing month to visit. We're so flattered you watch our content for your trip planning. Thank you so much for the support 🙏🥰.
Great video! I’d love to see one on the best and not as good times to visit for sargassum, crowds, etc.
Excellent video format! Memories returned to Playa del Carmen.
Hola amig@ 👋👋
Awww thank you so much we're happy to hear you liked the style of our video 🙏🙏. Have you been in PDC recently? I (Geo) hold sentimental value to this place, because I grew up here but we really want to explore more of Mexico. PDC will always be in our hearts 🙏🥰. Thanks again for watching and commenting. 🤩
@@ForTheRoadTravels I was there in February 2018. There is a short video about this visit on my channel)
We have recently made a similar video you might be interested to watch: ruclips.net/video/YCx1F_a35T4/видео.html
Thank you *again* for watching amigo 🤩🫶🤗
Thank you so much for the video. I am planning to travel to Playa del Carmen, but still deciding where to stay. Any recommendations?. Gracias:)
Hola Ozmartin 🙌
Thank YOU for watching and commenting 🫶.
We go in-depth on our Playa del Carmen Guide, you might want to check it out here:

Thank you so much for your videos inc your one on Parque Xel Ha. We're coming from the UK to hotel about 40k south of Playa and will definitely be paying a visit. Will be great to get you a nice local coffee as a thank you. Take care
Hola Jim
Thank you so much for your comment, it's so cool you guys are going to visit Xel-há.

What was the name of the cenote you recommended?
Hola Brent 🤗
Yes, of course it's called: Xunaan-Ha and it's on the way to Tulum. If you look in Google Maps you will get the way to get there 😉.
Thank you for watching, we really appreciate it 🙏
This video is amazing me and my fiance will be in Playa del Carmen in just a couple of days! Any other tips?

Loved this guide guys. Is helping me so much to plan my vacations in Playa
Hola Malcom 🤗
Thank you so much, for your sweet comment 🙏. We are very happy to hear that our PDC Guide is helping you to plan your trip. Thank you very much for watching and commenting this really helps us out here in RUclips 🙌🙌
Hey guys thanks for the video! I'll be next month in PLAYA! Anything decent and resonable HOTEL in PLAYA/CANCUN? Where do you recommend to stay?
Hola Inés🤗🤗
Thank you very much for watching our video and sharing your experience and tips!
Gracias!

Hola *amig@* ,
That's great, yes, PDC it's a good place, but if you rely of rely on fast internet we recommend staying in the beachside area where there are more places with good internet providers. PDC over any other place in the state of Quintana Roo at least in our opinion. 😉😉

Hey Isha (is Isha your name?)☺️ we’re so glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼 yeah, you’ll get your Cvd test for wayyy cheaper than any of the pop up stands, but as far as we know, you would need to make a booking through the website first ☺️ we’d also love to do a ceremony in the near future- they seem to be happening on a regular basis in this region 🤩 I’d recommend joining a Facebook group called Expats In Playa - if you asked about it in there, people seem to be super responsive 👍🏼 we were a bit bummed, but with restrictions easing up so much, I’m sure they’ll be back in action very soon 💃🏻🕺🏾 thank you so much for watching and we hope you enjoy your vacation in Playa 🏝☀️

is may a good month to go? and is the sargassum bad during that time?
May is awesome as the weather starts getting warmer during this month. In regards with the sargassum, it's actually difficult to say as it's unpredictable, lately the ocean has been looking great with low amount of sargassum, but once again is so unpredictable and can appear from overnight based on our experience. Thank you again for watching amig@ 🤩🥰
Hi guys great too see you both we were in Cozumel last week on a Royal cruise it has been almost 4 years and it was better than ever see ya both in the next one

Thank you guys for bringing back our memories!! PDC is our favorite place in Riviera Maya!!

What is the weather like in August for PDC?
Hey Temitayo 😌 August isn't the best month in terms of weather because it tends to be very hot and humid. The sargassum is typically pretty heavy around this time as well 🥲 However, hotels rates are at their cheapest and PDC is so quiet, which can be nice if you don't love crowds 🏝️
How would you guys recommend getting to the touristy cenotes? Is it necessary to rent a car? Or go by taxi?
Hola *Annie*
Renting a car is the top choice; however, there is public transportation available to reach the popular cenotes. They are minivans, commonly known as Colectivos, which travel along the highway all the way to Tulum. They are super affordable but not very comfortable and not the safest option. Taxis will be so expensive 💸

how safe is it to walk towards the higher avenues (30th avenue)? i want to go to some shops there but dont want to take a taxi from 5th ave if it is only a 10 min walk
It's super safe. The *30th* avenue is like the main road for public transport and is very walkable. However at night as in any place in the world we would recommend exercise precautions, and not going in dark isolated streets. Hope this helps amigo 🫶❤️

I just went to PDC and Cozumel in march and going back in the beginning of June, do you think the beaches are going to be clear at that time and the weather nice?
Hola Hey,
Weather wise usually is very nice during June as summer is approaching, we mean hot temperatures 🔥🥵 but nice to get into the beach, in terms of sargassum it is very unpredictable and it can appears overnight, however cenotes are always a great option if the beaches are not fully clear of these algae 🤭. Let's cross fingers to have those beautiful turquoise beaches again 🙏
This video was super helpful!! Muchas gracias 😊 I’m going in August, is there sargassum at that time??
Hola Lorena 🤗
Thank you for watching our video, we really appreciate it 🙏. We are glad you found it very helpful 🥰. Well, sargassum is very hard to predict, and August basically falls during the sargassum season that it cannot be predict how much of the algae will impact the shores. Hi Simone and Geovanny, Great video.
We are 2 families with teenage boys. and we are planning to stay on 5th avn \16 near the Muelle pier. Is it quiet location? How it safe to rent a car? I heard a lot of scam on that?
Thanks,
Oshrie
Hola Oshrie 👋👋
Thank you so much we really appreciate your comment 🙏.
Hello! Looking at PDC next May, is El Taj in the noisy side of town? Thanks!!
Hola Paul 🤗
Thank you so much for watching 🙏
El Taj is a street away from the 5th but as far as we know the area where it is located is close to the party strip (12th street / Calle 12) unless the rooms are soundproof you might be fine, we heard from some friends that literally stayed at a hotel next to a club that they did not have any problem as the rooms we 100% soundproof and we would assume some or most of the hotels around the area will have the same features, but this is our honest opinion, we strongly check the TripAdvisor comments or Google Maps reviews from travelers who have stay in there for more accurate info. Anyway we thank you again for watch our content and commenting we really appreciate it 🙏🤩

Hola Eric, 🤗🤗
Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Hola Lou 🤗🤗
First and foremost, thank you very much for watching.

Hey Miriam ☺️☺️ That's awesome - Playa really is such a fun spot to visit 🤩🙌🌴 A rental car will be very convenient if you're looking to a lot of day trips, like going to other beach towns, cenotes or going to the Xcaret parks 🚗 But if you're planning on sticking around Playa to enjoy the 5th avenue and the beaches here, the city is very walkable and you'll easily find taxis near the tourist zone 😁 In terms of a car seat - things are not regulated here in Mexico like they are in The States or Canada, so we can almost guarantee that the taxi drivers won't have any issue transporting your 3 year old without a car seat 😊😊 We hope you have the best time 🙌🌴🇲🇽
Hi we have a car rented and want to go visit playa del carmen. Where can we park?

Thank you! Very informative. You mentioned money... is the use of EFTPOS cards (debit or credit) not a big thing there? Generally do people carry cash?
Hola Nicolene 🤗,
Thank you very much for your comment actually this is a great question, we had it in our planning notes and we missed to put it in the video.

Hola Starla 👋👋
We are glad you enjoyed our video. Are you planning to visit Playa del Carmen soon?
Thank you for watching 🙏🤩
We plan to visit playa and want to stay at reef 28, we also want to go to the center down by ferrt cozmel. However due to a disability I can't walk far or for a long time without pain. Is there a bus or about how much is a taxi or will my idriver app (mexican version of Uber) work in playa.
Hola Amigo 🤗🤗
Thank you for watching our video.
