    I lived in Cozumel for a month in January 2021. The airport is international and American Airlines offers direct flights to the US. I can't speak for other airlines, but I flew from Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) directly to Cozumel with no problems, coming or going.

    • @NickDemski
      @NickDemski  Год назад

      yes there are some int'l flights but it's not a hub. you'd have to live in one of the few major cities it flies to. Cancun's airport can be reached from all over because it's a hub, which was my point.

    Insightful video! I agree with everything, but short-term playa del Carmen lodging/hotels are much much cheaper than Cancun.

      Thanks for sharing! I use mostly Airbnb when searching for the short-term leases, and that's definitely not the cheapest route (it's just super convenient)

    Thise low prices are going to be for old tiny studios way outside town, in more dangerous areas, and during the low season.
    Double those prices and you can find a small place in a better area.

    I really don't understand the prices you are describing... I have been to Cancun numerous times and 5$ taxi I have never seen. Tried to haggle best I got was 15$ but we were 4 people so I don't know if it's 5$ per people or what...normally they 25$ and we don't do the whole blvd...
    Also rent... I know there are some at those prices but it has to be run down... Realistically I see prices more in the 800-2500$ a month depending on location and ameneties.

      When you’re in Playa del Carmen, there’s a WhatsApp group for taxis that works well and gets a local rate. I’m pretty sure I talked about it in my PDC vs Cancun vs Cozumel video and the number should be in the description box there. Have fun!

    • @NickDemski
      @NickDemski  2 года назад +3

      It's one of those things that's a pain, but once it's done, it's done. You can actually get an agent here in Mexico that will handle all that stuff for you and make it super easy, though. And it's not too expensive to use those services, I'd just recommend shopping around for quotes, though. Join local Facebook groups for wherever you're going and you'll find someone that the local ex-pats will recommend to you that they've used already.
