Came here after watching the video on your other channel discussing your future. Don’t give up man. You make great content. It may have been the Asia/China thing that got people interested but it’s your attitude and communication skills that made people stay. Been following for years and it’s really interesting to see the personal growth you’ve had and the changes you went through. You are genuine and you never try to be something that your not. People realized that in your videos about China and they will also realize it if you keep making content like this. All the best bud.
grreattttttt STUFF, man!!!!! I REALLY appreciate your break down. AND you're super great at what you do. This was one of the better videos Ive seen on MX.
Kevin, thank you! That was incredibly helpful, and also makes me realize how much I don't want to go to Tulum! haha But I really laughed a lot at the Tuluminati because I can imagine so clearly what you mean. It was very similar in San Marcos. Guatemala! I appreciate this take, thanks so much for the honest review of these cities! :)
There is collectivos in Centro which takes you to Tulum Beach area for 15 Peso one way. They go way deep to the overpass at one point then return to town picking up riders along the way until full.
This video is awesome. I was trying to decide between the two and because of this video I’ll be staying in Playa del Carmen. But I’ll visit Tulum for a day just to wait in line to pose for the same pic that everyone posts on social media. 🤣
Great video. I would say, no need to pick. Rent a car, pick a home base airbnb and explore the region. Some of my favorite beaches are in-between the two, Xpu-Ha is gorgeous for example.
This was the most real video I have seen in a while! I have lived in playa for almost half a year and I went to tulum many many times since it’s only 45m away in a car from playa. No doubt, playa is way better if you want to live there and if you want to have a more “real” experience. I love how playa is all mixed, the beaches like you said are mixed with locals and tourist. We are all enjoying it while in tulum you definitely don’t see that. The beaches in my opinion are more beautiful in tulum but the overall experience is way better in playa. Playita is the best!
Hey Kevin! Glad to have you back. I was a regular throughout the China vlogs but lost touch somewhere in between. Hoping to see more of these Mexico vlogs and other Hispanic countries as well. Cheers mate!
Just got back from QR and fell in love wit Playa and this video is spot on including the Tuluminati lol I really enjoyed the vibe and convenience of Playa didn’t like the exclusiveness of Tulum at all. 5th ave is awesome but I quickly realized Benito Juarez is where all my shopping should be done. You got a new subscriber 🤙🏽
Awesome video dude- you covered all the things my GF and I wanted to know about each place and the differences between the two. We'll be staying in Playa Del Carmen. Video and audio quality are on point too which isn't always a given with travel videos. Cheers!
You seem to be analytical and logical which makes for a great detailed review. Also comparing things without bias. Letting each TYPE of person decide what they will enjoy
You’ve made my decision so easy. Thank you 😊 I’m going to Playa del Carmen for a week and lot you stated it is more developed and much more affordable. Thank Muchas gracias muchacho 😊
Great presentation and I appreciate your show and tell with frankness. You're a natural in how you present! Best with your future with your aspirations and purpose in life.
You forgot renting a car. I got a car from a great French Canadian lady based in Playa Del Carmen and went up and down the coast from the border and the ruins, to Isla Mujeres. No fuss, no scams, you just need to be assertive driving and watch out for gas station tricks. But we saw so many things that we otherwise wouldn't like far flung cenotes.
You’ve described both to a “T”! Great information and video! I also prefer Playa del Carmen over Tulum. Still nice to experience both to get your own feel for the places.
I've been nomading through Yucatan for a couple months. Really enjoyed Playa del Carmen overall, was there for a couple weeks, now in Tulum and planning my "escape". LOL, I agree with what you say, Tulum might be nice for a resort experience on vacation, but not so much to live and work. I seem to have evaded the Tuluminati thus far, although I will be back for some meditation retreat time.
well alright, i gotta say my tulum was amazing, and you did not mention the cenotes!!!! tulum has so many and that smallness of it allows for more intimate connections with the land and fellow travelers
I fell in love with Tulum about 10 years ago. We've visited again about 4 times - for about 2 weeks each time. I have a feeling I won't be enjoying Tulum anymore but my husband who really didn't want to go there the first time is insistent we go. So we probably will but.... I just don't think it will be the magical place it was every other time we've gone....
@@myvictory8294 Good suggestion. I saw a travel show on cable tv about it and was very impressed. We stay in PDC during the winter and take the Colective to Tulum. It’s changed quite a bit over the past ten years. Wait until the train and the Tulum airport are are in operation. It’s good that you saw Tulum before it turns into another Cancun😢.
Very helpful info thank you, i have been in Playacar 3 times same adult only hotel, but didn’t know about the taxi thing till now😀 i love Playa Del Carmen bc of the fruit stand on 2nd calle and 25 avenida , will be there again same hotel on September 10th😀
I recommend to all foreigners to visit *Guanajuato* this month the *Cervantino International Festival* begins, invited countries Korea🇯🇵 and Canada 🇨🇦, lots of art, urban rock, jazz.
Great content. Your video helped me make up my mind on which place to visit first. Playa del Carmen I think will be a better fit for me. Thanks for posting great information. Keep your shirt off, it is a great way of promotion your videos. lol
Bro what u mean, Mexicans are pioneers when it comes to psychedelics they introduced shrooms to the world we have the most species of psychedelic shrooms then anywhere in the world, ever heard of Maria Sabina? And when it comes to dmt we have a frog in Sonora which they extract their poison that contains dmt it’s been going on to thousands of years.
Went to both as well, there's other beaches in Tulum, free of charge, with locals, lots of restaurants/bars(expensive tho). There you will meet more 'normal' international people living there. Besides that your video resume it all.
Just got back from staying at the only 4 star all inclusive resort in PDC. Its the Grand Velas….it was awesome! Went downtown PDC for a day and it was ok but way too touristy for me. Give me Grand Velas forever!😎
Totally understand. I'm playing around with all forms of content right now. In the future I'll be traveling through Mexico, so I won't have time to produce such detail-oriented content like this. Cheers
Best wishes and congratz from PERÚ , thanks for the tips and details, .I'll be in Quintana Roo in 10 days. Definitely Playa del Carmen is the Best option and more genuine essence ,personal view o point. I love México . Hugs and Best regards bro from the country of the Incas.

Tulum has large gorgeous free public beaches!
😂😂😂😂 which you can’t get to because of the resort Berlin Wall.
Great vid!! Very usable information with a good mix of humor. Thumbs up!
The Tuluminatis took me out LOL there's no better way to describe them.
Lmao is there such thing ? Haha
Haaa
You can also take the ferry from PDC to Cozumel - $25 USD round-trip when I went last
grreattttttt STUFF, man!!!!! I REALLY appreciate your break down.

Good one!!! As a mexican national i appreciate your down to earth review. keep it going

Me too
Thanks for your video. My wife and I are planning to make the move mid-September to Playa.
Now this is the way you do a video! Great insight and commentary without a whole lot of fluff and useless information.
There is collectivos in Centro which takes you to Tulum Beach area for 15 Peso one way. They go way deep to the overpass at one point then return to town picking up riders along the way until full.
Do you know where exactly in Centro the collectivos are located?

Thank you so much for all tips, Kevin! My best friend and I are heading to Tulum/Cancun in 10 days, and this video of yours really helped us out!
Great video. I would say, no need to pick. Rent a car, pick a home base airbnb and explore the region. Some of my favorite beaches are in-between the two, Xpu-Ha is gorgeous for example.
Liking the new approach bro, always interesting. Keep the content coming!
Thanks bro
Tuluminati!!!! LOL. Best review of the area I've seen so far.
Playa del Carmen is the Best🇲🇽🔥😍

Loved your video dude, I like that you add so humor to it.
One of the best travel videos I’ve watched. Very informative & I love the comparison. I love the sarcasm 😆
Glad I saw this video as I was questioning which town I should hit this coming winter. Def will stay at PDC. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the Tulum bicycle tip. I would have been an idiot and tried to walk into town from the beach lol.
Nice informational video bro , keep grinding. Going back to playa soon and I loved it
Hey Kevin! Glad to have you back. I was a regular throughout the China vlogs but lost touch somewhere in between. Hoping to see more of these Mexico vlogs and other Hispanic countries as well. Cheers mate!
Just a heads up about Tulum. The infrastructure, water and sewer, and electric are a wreck. Playa at least is up to date
Do you mean groceries buying at benito Juarez because it’s cheaper or what was your experience there?
@@Kingstylez16 yeah groceries and basic stuff but also souvenirs and alcohol at a quarter the price of shops on 5th.
Bruh, came for the commentary and stayed for the music. Bravo!
Taking my daughter to Tulum in Feb You gave me a good idea of what to expect. She will love it there… hope this mama can keep up with her. Thanks

@Silvia Hoard we stayed with a friend who lives downtown Playa. It was free and awesome :)
Thank you for this Informative Video Bruv, Heading to PDC this June 14th 🎉
Awesome! I’m plan to start my airbnb out there & plan to to visit very soon. You really helped me.
Thank you

Hey Kevin I'd love to see you go to Puerto Vallarta and compare your experience to Playa de los Muertos!
Great review!! You hit it on the nail with Playa but I've never been to Tulum so will explore more of that. Thanks!
You completely nailed it with this video! Perfectly described and showed the vibes of each place. Loved you description of the tuluminati! Hilarious!
Absolutely LOVED this review..... PHENOMENAL! Thanks man! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I love living in Playa - I commute to the us once a month to fly my trips ! I always love coming home! Tulum is not my fave - but to each their own 😂
having explored both - I agree with all of your observations, not some - but all. well done
Really helpful. I m just going for 4 days 5 nights. So I guess I will Enjoy more Playa del Carmen
Great presentation and I appreciate your show and tell with frankness. You're a natural in how you present! Best with your future with your aspirations and purpose in life.

Great info! Appreciate the information as it truly provides more insight than just the regular tourist sales pitch.
This video was super helpful, dude. Thank you.

Which ones? I’ve been to a bunch just from taking the bus or taxi and it was dirt cheap
Great video. I'm doing 6 months in plays del Carmen next year
You’ve described both to a “T”! Great information and video! I also prefer Playa del Carmen over Tulum. Still nice to experience both to get your own feel for the places.
Kevin, just saw your story on Instagram. Here to leave some positive engagement and support you while you figure out the future of this channel!
This couldn’t be more accurate…like 1000% accurate!! Headed back to PDC in 3 weeks!
I feel like i've traveled to the both places. Looking forward to your next video 🐒🐒
Good on you for reinventing your content!
I appreciate that :) one video at a time
I’ve been to both years ago and enjoyed both as well. However, when I revisited Tulum in 2020, it was very tuluminati!
Tuluminati? 😂 Nice term hahaha
Tulum is magical
Great video! Since you’ve been to Tulum a couple of times - what hotel/resort would you recommend for the best beach/ activity experience? Thanks!
Great info. Great job. Thanks!!

If you had only 3 nights, would stay in Playa or Tulum. First time for both. Just me and a buddy. We’re gonna go to Bacalar for 3 nights after that
omg lol tuluminati, this video cant be any more spot on!!
thank you very much for the advice. the pictures are great❤
Thank you so much this was so helpful!
i can't they are advertising Buffo like this-- this can be so dangerous. I'm so glad you had a great experience, mine was traumatic
Super helpful! Thanks Kevin.
Thank you posting this great video.
well alright, i gotta say my tulum was amazing, and you did not mention the cenotes!!!! tulum has so many and that smallness of it allows for more intimate connections with the land and fellow travelers
Tulum sucks. Never again

Didn't know about DMT being a thing down there. I don't know how safe I would feel doing it down there.
Bro what u mean, Mexicans are pioneers when it comes to psychedelics they introduced shrooms to the world we have the most species of psychedelic shrooms then anywhere in the world, ever heard of Maria Sabina? History drawn to the name and the heart
Tulum is also becoming like Bali I love Quintana Roo!
Man the coffee up there can be amped up lol 😂
Tulum is much better, but a lot more expensive. There’s nothing like the hotel zone in tulum anywhere around the world. Playa is still great.
Love the videos, keep it up!
Thank you so much
Best part of Playa is definitely the diving
Thank you! This was very helpful! I would go to Playa Del Carmen over Cancun or Tulum!

Love this thank you!!!
The end is so funny because so true!
I’m going to check out Merida, then Playa. I want to know more about Oaxaca and Mexico City too. Helpful video 👍
Thanks for watching!
If we visit, will Kevin tour us around the towns? Shirtless, of course.
Yeah absolutely, I'll even pay for your flight and accommodation too!

Prices are about to go way up in Tulum as they are now building a new airport
Looking to get away from Montana winter. Recommendations for a ten day place to stay (for 2) in playa del carmen
Tulumaniti haha that´s funny! and I can see that reflected in Instagram posts a loot
Kevin, how about visiting Cozumel from playa del Carmen I think you can take a ferry? BTW enjoying your content (old and new) it’s entertaining.
Yes, Cozumel is nice, except when there is 5 cruise ships parked there and thousands of "cruisers" walking/waddling around.
This was super helpful
Well made video 😊
I do prefer the more casual travel videos aposed to a guide to a place though
Totally understand. I'm playing around with all forms of content right now. In the future I'll be traveling through Mexico, so I won't have time to produce such detail-oriented content like this. Cheers

Playa is way better
Tulum seems to be filled with Yuppies from NYC, for the past few years.
I agree.
great video. Which camera did you use please??
What do you recommend for going to Cancun for the first time. Cancun, puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen?
Best wishes and congratz from PERÚ , thanks for the tips and details, .I'll be in Quintana Roo in 10 days.
