Really appreciate the nice comment. It means a lot, thanks. Thats what we try to do with all our destination guides - to make them “fun AND informative”. Please check out our other videos for the rest of the Yucatán area!
Your video made a huge, positive difference to my family’s trip to talcum. The advice to take the bus over a taxi saved us over $100 USD. We looked at your video the night before we travelled to Talum. Thank you for the excellent video❤❤❤❤
The hidden gem of Tulum. I found a place in the hotel zone on the beach that is beautiful. Not like the other expensive tourist traps. It’s located km 8.5 in the hotel zone directly on Tulum beach called camping Chavez. They only charge $200 Mx or $15 usd. That includes: beach beds, bathrooms, showers with hot and cold water, WiFi. They also have good food and drinks for really good prices compared to all the other places. No minimum consumption! Don’t leave Tulum without checking it out.
We stayed in Playa Del Carmen before going to Tulum, we did a money exchange there. Ask your hotel where the nearest currency exchange place is and then look for the best rate. Normally there will be several within .5 mile. Hope that helps, have a wonderful trip.
We didn’t have any issues & felt safe. We rented the scooter & drove around the beach area & downtown Tulum. Be aware of your surroundings, like don’t carry a purse around your shoulder always keep things close to you- similar to what you do if you went to a concert etc. try the pastor tacos they are so delicious!!!! Most importantly have a great time 🙌
Great video! We're leaving next week and will be staying near Playa del Carmen - we are intending to do a full day in Tulum.... but I'm VERY nervous about eating and drinking outside of the resort. I've never been anywhere tropical and I'm really terrified of our vacation being ruined by sickness (going with my in-laws, so I want everything to be okay). I've taken the Dukoral vaccine... honestly - should I try the local tacos? Or were you okay because you've visited before and your body is used to it?
definetly try the local tacos, head to Charlies to get the best ones in Tulum. We haven't had any issues with eating or drinking outside the resorts, just asked for bottled water. We also did a full guide to visiting Playa Del Carmen as well - that might help you a little bit ruclips.net/video/jn7tGlZ6oLg/видео.htmlsi=-TrpYDEIZmIq4SRe
We are traveling to the Yucatan in mid April for the first time for our 30th anniversary. One thing we've been contemplating buying snorkel and mask to take. My question is, is it worth it or would it be better to just rent? Of our 11 days we have a couple nights in Tulum and a couple nights on Cozumel.
My husband is the big snorkeler he always takes his own mask. Sometimes on the excursions we have taken the masks they provided leaked. If you are doing carry-on, then maybe just rent a mask, but if you can check in your luggage, then I would bring it along. We did a great snorkel excursion in Tulum as well as Cozumel. We are going to Cancun in November and want to visit Tulum. We might have a better plan now, so thank you. Maybe Take the bus from the hotel zone in Cancun to Tulum, rent a scooter and visit the ruins and a cenota, plus local food. Would like to snorkel a little too. Take the bus back to Cancun. Is there a time that it stops running for the day ? Is this doable as a newbie traveler?
Have fun! We have taken the bus several times, but honestly only from airport to playa del carmen, then tulum back to airport. Highly suggest it, great way to get to the airport and super comfortable and safe way to travel.
@@EnergyreaderempathMary Panama is great because a lot of people speak English, the currency is the American dollar, and you can drink the water anywhere unless it is posted otherwise. That last statement being the exact opposite of Mexico! The wildlife in the forest is amazing, but it is hotter than hell when the sun is out. Best of luck to you!
Hopefully the videos give you a good feel for the two places. I would say Mazatlan is more for people who want more ‘local’ Mexican feel while Tulum is more trendy and touristy with more beach and Mayan activity close by. (Our choice between the two would be Mazatlan😉 because we like more local, less touristy feel).
Im form México, no comparation, Tulum is 10 times better. All this área is amazing, cancun, playa del carmen, isla mujeres. Yo need to visit xcaret Parks. Good look
getting into taxis or mini buses may be dangerous in Mexico, especially around airport, especially late evening or night. You can be driven to nowhere and asked to pay more or else they will drop where you are.
Tulum is extremely expensive unless you eat street food and stay far from the beach in a crappy air bnb. The Mexicans there will try to rip you off nearly 1 out of 4 purchases. Always check your credit card statements and be careful!
I’m sorry you had a bad experience. We enjoyed our stay in Tulum- renting a scooter driving along the coast. Getting some tacos at Charlie’s we had a great time. No matter where you go, you can find dishonest people.
I will never go back to Tulum. It is $25 just to get into a Taxi. I want to go six kilometers to get to the beach and back. It will cost me $50. I need to go to the store it's another $50. This is just a rip off. No wonder they will not allow UBER here! EVEN THE LOCAL PEOPLE ARE YELLING AT THE TAXI DRIVERS DO NOT GO TO TULUM JAN 16 2025

Hi Amanda, Tulum will be a great vacation. Are you going soon or in the summer?
We live here and I'd like to say this is a very well done video. My only comment is that as the 307 passes through Tulum it's running east -west.

Thanks for the video. Does anyone know which cenote it is in minute 1:17?
What resort is at 12:41? i don't know that one.
Where would you recommend to do a currency exchange in Cancun/Tulum area? We go next month.

Hi friends . May i ask you what website are you bought your ticket ( air and hotel all included ) thanks and have a great day

Right now new airport in tulum and the new train 🚊 Maya
is it possible to travel to nearby cenote via scooter?
I'm sure you can, you would just need to do a little research to find the location of the cenotes.
Where is it safe to travel in Mexico for a solo female? I am only interested in a place close to the warm waters of the Gulf. Thank you.
not a good idea, it's a gamble
Nowhere!!

See the Maya train my friend don't be jealous
22:38-22:40 - Where is that?!?!
how is tourist harrassment in tulum or on the beach?
Not so bad. Better than most Mexican beach areas.

How are the mosquitoes?
On the beach we didn’t have any issues but if you are doing some hiking in the dense brush area you will need mosquito spray.
Tulum has their own airport now. Just fyi
Yes, when we did this video, the new Tulum airport (and the Mayan train) were not yet open.
The pink subscribe button is spelled subscibe
oh my goodness, I had someone who did that for me. I will get that fixed. I can't believe I have never noticed it!!!! Thanks for letting me know!!!!

car rentals are away more expensive than what is mention on the video...750 USD a week is more realistic

The collectivo is the way to go. We have used them for so many years. I dont know why you said to avoid them. FAKE NEWS
That sargasm sucks

This place is a dump and if you go-good luck
At least try to pronounce the state correctly. You chopped Quintana Roo drastically.
Sorry that was the most important thing you got out of the video.
