As time goes by,the ability to live in MX is slipping out of reach for me and my husband due to increased income restrictions. Our retirement income is better than most but now not enough to qualify.😢
That's such a bummer Sandie- especially because the income requirements are much much higher than what it acually costs to live in Mexico for the most part. Can you qualify through the special regularization program? Find out about it here mexicorelocationguide.com/regularization-program-residency-in-mexico/
5th Avenue is a lot more expensive and the locals give Americans higher prices. They tried charging me $100+ for something I know cost less than $5. Be aware of your surroundings /costs
We really enjoyed PDC. We found at the time we visited that it cost less to fly into Cozumel and take the ferry to PDC. We were staying in both places on that trip, so it made sense.
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Yes, it is a very nice compact airport. The only downside is that the do not allow the taxi's to pick up on the airport grounds. So if you want a taxi you have to walk a little bit to get to one. The process of getting through customs was so much quicker than Cancun and if you are ultimately going to Cozumel, it is the smarter choice to utilize this airport.
Since this video it seems rental units have gone through the roof price wise. I’m not sure how much rental rates are negotiable but I was shocked at the listed rates now.
Yes, I have permanent residency and rented there at a beautiful condo on calle 38 between avenida 10 & 15,, Reasonable landlord who lived in another part of Mexico. He sold it and at lease end the new landlords went way up on the rent. From $1,200 to $1,800 for a 1 bedroom. I kept my house in the States and flew back as my daughter was having her first baby and I wanted to be here for the birth. I made some great friends from all over in Playa and plan to go back in the fall. Best way to find a place stay in a hotel for a week or two and look while there. Best time to find a place in late summer or in the fall before the snow birds arrive and rentals go way up!!

Hello Mariana, We were just in Playa Del Carmen for two weeks in March. We stayed in Playa car Fase 1. So beautiful. We really enjoyed it. Thinking of coming there for a few months every year. To rent for say 3 months maybe 4. Would a 6 month rental be possible? Or would it be less expensive to do Airbnb. We would probably not be able to afford staying in Playacar for that long. Would have to be a more affordable location. Thanks!
6 month rentals are totally possible outside of Airbnb. You just have to know which real estate company you’ll go with or be ok with spending some time at an Airbnb while you find the best short term rental
