Love to hear this! The music of 2nd Chapter of Acts has been very important to me since my teenage years. Some of the most REAL Christian music out there.

In my opinion no group in modern Christianity has had more of a powerful anointing to worship and to lead the body into worship than the Second Chapter of Acts. So pure and from the heart giving all of the glory to Jesus.
They are such a genuine followers of Jesus and yet they are also so "real".
You've made our heavenly Father so proud Annie Herring.

I used to live at Last Days in Lindale, Tx. I have much of the music of those in the area. 2nd Chapter of Acts is one of the early Christian music I listened to. Keith Green was so influential in my life as was all those of that era. Still listen to all of them instead of the "mainstream Christian" music.

Annie is still so beautiful inside & out at age 77!
My husband & I were youth pastor/associate pastor on Queen Anne Hill, Seattle from 1984 to 1987 at the same time my husband was still in Bible School at Northwest & I ran the Snack Shack. We were so blessed to hear them & be ministered to by them at the arena. We were as poor as church mice, but we got to go because we could scounge together $2 each for tickets sold at the Bible Book Store.❤❤❤ They blessed us so much!!! Thank you!❤❤❤

I've been listening to 2nd Chapter songs again here on YT and they still touch my heart deeply. Thank you for the music and the ministry. God bless you, Nellie, and Matthew.

2nd Chapter of Acts came to my high school my senior year and sang out in the outdoor plaza at lunch. They were the most kind and humble people I’d ever met. Their harmonies were so tight and powerful. One of my favorite Christian groups ever.

Dear Annie, it seems I lived a world away from you and your gifted family but we were also raised catholic and beautiful renaissance and medieval catholic music has illuminated my life as a medievalist scholar! I grew up in La Jolla California in the money-obsessed 1980s, and we sang “mansion builder” as part of an acapella vocal competition. It’s been forty plus years, and I still remember thinking how very very beautiful your song was - North Dakota to Sacramento (I was in SoCal and went to university in NoCal!). I wasn’t sure about this but I was wondering if your family had any Sioux heritage from the Dakotas?! You have such beautiful facial features - all of you- and it made me wonder. Thank you, truly, for the gift you gave me - a kid in California you never knew - who cried with joy at the beauty of your voices and through your voices witnessed your shining diamond souls!

29:25 Actually, I have to say this. I was 18 I had heard Footnotes, so we heard they were going to be in Wichita Falls Texas so we went. This was the best Christian "concert" I had ever been to, because they led the whole auditorium in worship to Jesus! Of course their music / singing was great, but it was the anointed worship; when we left we felt closer to Jesus.

I'll never forget going to see Baary McGuire at this Assembly of God church in Pomona, CA and he had these AMAZING back up singers called The 2nd Chapter of Acts: I went back to my church telling my pastor we had to get them at our church and they were amazing. I gave my heart to Jesus in 1975 when I was 15 and the 2nd Chapter of Acts was the first Christian band I ever heard. Their music became the songtrack to my life through my teens and twenties. Such purity, praise and anointing, yet they remained so humble despite their immense talents. Saw them in concert three times and their ministry was so powerful and affecting.. they would take your breath away with their incredible voices, then Annie would raise her hands unto the Lord in worship, reminding us that Jesus is the One who deserves the praise. I discovered my own musical abilities and calling early on also and have been a worship leader gorgeous 39 years. But I've never forgotten how they modeled for me how to be a minister of God's goodness, by becoming invisible and letting the Spirit of God speak and sing through me. For this I am eternally grateful.

Now my children have grown up with 2cd Chapter of Acts, and it will be a part of their good memories too. What a beautiful time to be brought up in an evangelical church that loved Jesus and wanted more of HIM. Of teenagers hungry for the Savior and living transformed lives. Jesus said "You must be born again to enter into the Kingdom of God" Thank you Buck reminding us that Jesus said that! So simple and beautiful, true and full of hope and promise are the words of our Lord Jesus!

Annie, I first heard your voice in 1975 on a really bad eight track tape player in my friend's car singing, "I can't get near you even though I died for you." I turned to my friend and said, "Who is that??" She said, "It's a Christian group -2 sisters and a brother-called 2nd Chapter of Acts." And I thought, "I want to hear more and on a device that's a little better quality! And what a cool and unique name for a group!" Well, not long after, I was in a KMart looking at record albums. There was your *In the Volume* album. I thought, "What a sweet picture of these 2 sisters and their brother." So I bought it. Then I listened to it. O how my Jesus ministered to me through this album and all the others. Thank you, Annie. It's good to see you doing well. I read all the Narnia books with my grandkids. My 9 year old granddaughter listened to the Narnia album over and over on her Google speaker. I printed the lyrics for her so she could sing along.

Your music has been a large part of my worship over the years, Annie. There was a long period of time where I was afraid to sing. When I would sing with you my voice grew, and I began to sing in my church's choir. I actually had a solo part this past Christmas which if you would have told me that years ago, I never would have believed that. When you're singing to your savior, miracles happen. My son is a worship leader now, and it's so beautiful. I would love to meet you and sing and worship with you. These interviews have been so amazing. Thank you so much, Brian, for doing this. I loved hearing about how Annie's music is gifted to her from the Father, and that she doesn't actually "write" music. I literally could write a novel here, but I'll leave it at, thank you, Annie Herring, for sharing your gift with us.

i got to see 2nd Chapter of Acts perform during a Sunday night service @ Central Assembly of God in Salem, OR in 1974. They were fresh and new in the contemporary music scene. With Footnotes had just been released. I had know of Buck via his on-air work @ KYA in San Francisco. My family lived in the Bay Area during the '60s. I think that of all of their songs, The Easter Song has remained as my very favorite. I also love their Hymns recordings. What a wonderful testimony they all have, and I am so grateful to the LORD that they answered HIS knocking at their heart's door. May Jesus continue to bless each of you, as you SERVE HIM for the FATHER'S GLORY. Thanks Brian for the interviews. Am anxiously awaiting Buck's interview with you.

After 2nd Chapter performed at a small college (free, just asked for an offering), they went to a local restaurant for dinner. I'd driven a hundred miles or so to see them in concert. Loved their worship leading and by chance wound up at the same restaurant as these wonderful folks. I didn't want to bother them, but I did tell them what a great influence they had on my Christian walk. They politely smiled and said thanks, but I noticed that Buck really took it to heart. A great model of servant leadership.

So nice to hear this and Matthew's interview, and get an understanding of who they are. What a cool story of this family, and so great what our Lord and King did through them, without them realizing the full impact they would have on all of us. I remember seeing them once in Rockford, IL, early 1980's, at First Assembly, led by pastor Ernie Moen. Great job with the interview Brian and production team.

Thankful for Annie’s life.. her heart toward the Lord. They impacted my life from 1975 when they performed in Jax beach Florida. Something I appreciated is that the focus was always on the Lord .. worshipping Him … and they’d be accessible to converse with after the concerts.

Wonderful interview. Great getting to "know" Anne on a personal level here.
I listened to their music as a youth, a friend introducing me to them.
Now, I'm returning to those albums.
We had the same in our family of eight; 19 years between the oldest and younest.

I am grateful to say that I am a born again Christian and have been since I was 19.......i just want to say that i praise God for people like Annie Herring who God has richly blessed with musical talent and just a dear heart for Jesus!!!! i much pray for her and her ministry and folks if you don’t know Christ as your savior then it burdens my soul to think that you are headed for a terrible place called Hell where the Bible says the fire is never quenched and the worm dies not! Folks you are not promised tomorrow! If you want to know how to be saved from this horrible reality then please by all means don’t hesitate to comment right back so I can lead you to the savior! 2 Corinthians 6:2 clearly states “now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation!” And Hebrews 3:15 clearly states, “Today if you hear his voice don’t harden your hearts! It is not me but the Holy Spirit that I pray reveals to you the truth of his precious gospel......John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life! V 17 says then V 18 says whoever believes on the son is not condemned but whoever does not believe on the son is condemned already because he has not believed on the son whom God has sent! Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!

I saw the 2nd Chapter of Acts many times, they were a protected flower.......deeply respected as hosts (in many hearts) as those that glorified Jesus....I can't think of any other band as set apart, back in the 70's.....I can see how Annie and about 100 million others want this back!

I've listened to very few interviews where you just feel the presence of the Holy Spirit oozing out of someone with EVERY word they say. I don't say that lightly...just seems reflect His heart. (and it is so fascinating to hear someone who's music has helped formed by life. As a vocalist, her words on singing and worship as a natural, constant part of life resonates with my Spirit.) :)

Ms. Annie you have been heard probably to a billion people who have heard something from your testimony in music and expression! You influenced me (in a world of media influence) towards the Lord! Thank you. (Brian Mason, I would have asked more about her songs, where she traveled to, more about her music and writing, what she saw and experienced in ministry so can learn? if not stretching too far a big "What has occurred to Christian music because it has changed"? More about her testimony in ministry for sure?)

(Later ... ) I can't explain this, since I did not realise it at the time, but it was only afterwards, when 'the world' came crashing back in, that I realised that the whole interview had been a kind of 'mountain-top' experience.

Brian, what a treat!! At 60, and with the Jesus Revolution movie out, I’ve become so nostalgic about my early days as a new Christian. I think I can remember the first time I heard 2nd Chapter of Acts and Easter Song. Heard them live one time. It was a worship service. Getting to catch up with Annie and Matthew is such a blessing!!

What a lovely 48 minutes of time, it was so great to hear this interview. I saw Annie in Tulsa twice and was just a package of dynamite at the keyboard each time. Great to see the interview and know what is going on today. Annie's music has meant so much over the years and still she plays in MP3 format in my car when I go out and about. Easter song, Roar of Love, Mansion Builder and Rod and Staff, will always have place in my heart and How the West was Won will always have a place in my ears as well to remind me of those days live in Tulsa with Dance With Me. How lucky it would be to be the neighbor to hear Annie's piano playing which truly would be The Son Comes Over the Hill!!
