Praise God! I loved that! What a beautiful trip down memory lane declaring the works of the Lord. I'm Wendy from Children of the Day. We recorded our first album, Come to the Waters, with Buck Herring in 1970. After recording sessions Buck would take us home for dinner with the family, then after dinner we would sing around the piano worshiping the Lord with Annie playing. Second Chapter hadn't officially formed yet, but we loved their music already. At that time I was so thrilled to find someone my same age, Nellie! I believe we were both 15 at the time. Matthew was 3 years younger and had just recorded "Jesus Is" before his voice had changed. Buck was so happy and blessed with Matthew's rockin' vocal! Buck played the recording for us in the studio to share his joy. We loved them all and were so blessed that God put us together. I was thrilled to hear and see Buck and Annie again on this recording! The stories and the work of the Holy Spirit all came flooding back to me. If you're reading this Buck and Annie, I love you both, you have meant so much in my life with Jesus
Hearing the story about how the group got the name '2nd Chapter of Acts' reminds me how, on a night out to see Andrae Crouch in Birmingham Apollo Theatre, England, and John Stoeter asked me as we walked in, 'Have you heard the 2nd Chapter of Acts?' and I said, 'do you mean have I read it?' - but that was the start of a great experience with them!
That is a very profound book, They Speak with Other Tongues. Not preachy, written by a skeptical reporter. Buck took a huge leap of faith when he took 2nd Chapter on tour on just offerings, no ticket sales. This was when 2nd Chapter was a pretty big deal with a couple of buses (as I remember) for the tour crew and the group. They actually were able to pay for everything off offerings, and most of their concerts brought in more in offerings than their normal ticket sales.
Such great info.! And it's so much fun to see how God was directing things to prepare the way, putting the pieces in place, for the formation of 2nd Chapter of Acts. Thanks for this interview.
In the last story....(chicken casserole),you would have needed a 50 gallon pot to produce that amount of food....trust me, I did the math. This stuff is real, all you need is a "contrite heart and broken spirit and tremble at His Word". Faith

What a great way to make a living. Great testimony.
Very interesting. Love the part about the car starting in answer to prayer. Had experiences like that also.

Your set up at studio looks great, Brian :)
Thank you! I wish I could take credit, it's our video-guy, Mark Pleasant and studio owner, Jim Tenneboe. I like it too!
