Leland thanks for visiting 2nd Chapter and Annie today. Brought back a lot of my history. I was working for Sparrow Records when these were released and got to know these groups and their music. I spent close to 20 years in the Christian music business and everytime I hear it the memories are wonderful and I miss it a lot.

Annie has a lovely voice. The vocals seem very natural without any studio fixing to take out flaws that come in a live performance, a testimony to her talent. I am grateful to be reintroduced to these artists who were prominent in my youth. I didn't appreciate them, as much as I do now, how good they were. Thanks Leland.

What an amazing voice and I think like l mentioned yesterday of the late great Keith Green. The music back then was so different and meant something and it is special to hear it today and feel it like it was yesterday. Stay safe and don’t overdo it Lee and thankyou again.

I think Annie had some tragic story of her parents passing away and having to raise her younger siblings. I have huge respect for her. I have bad memories associated with some Gospel music because of some extremist youth group leaders but not Annie's stuff, she has such a strong and pure spirit in her singing and writing.

More new music for me. Annie Herring has a beautiful voice with a large range and a timbre reminiscent of Kate Bush. The arrangements on the first song are stunning and the Bass Part on the second song is quite intricate at times. Inspiring. 🙏

@@notremors wow. This is my first listen to any Annie Herring's solo music. You stated exactly what I was thinking. She absolutely is reminiscent of Kate Bush. Her writing, to my ears has touches of prog. Her songs would never be played on Christian radio. God created a very unique and creative individual who writes very unique and creative music.

I first bought Annie's album within a few years of it coming out & thought even back then that it was/would be hugely underrated as far as song writing, performance, production etc. What I like the most is the vulnerability Annie shows in her relationship to the man upstairs - it comes out in her voice & songwriting.Dance with you is actually a stunning song when you realize it's about opening yourself up to feeling joy & spontaneity in your relationship with God. I'm not trying to preach just giving some observations that others might have shared now or sometime in the past.

As weird as it seems to me, since this is pretty obscure music, I think Kate Bush just has to have heard this album. The first and third songs sound way too much like Kate's first two albums for it to be a coincidence, in my opinion. The arrangements and sounds chosen are also pretty close, and there's a piano arpeggio on the first song that sounds like Wuthering Heights!
Very strange. I've read a fair amount about Bush, and no one has ever picked up on this similarity.
