It’s so ridiculous that in 2024 with all the conditioning, athletic trainers, and the amount of stretching and lifting they do, players somehow get injured more.
It’s because despite all that, the human body is being pushed closer to its limit as that training develops. The human body is not meant to throw a round object 95+ mph or swing a bat as hard as possible thousands of times a year

As a twins fan, with his injuries, I’ve been thinking about one idea for the past week. We have a good future with these prospects but outside of Brooks, none of them are MLB yet and we probably won’t be as good with them as we are now. So what if the twins did the most un-Twins things ever. What if the Twins went all in this year and rested Royce for one big playoff push. It sounds crazy, but the twins offense has been insane. As a twins fan it's so tough to see him injured so often when he's entering the prime of his career. This team is going to be something to watch out for for years to come if the stars can just stay healthy.
Jaxon Smithers is right that is a huge if. But you're not wrong, this lineup is scary if Buxton and Lewis are healthy. Couple that with a few more moves in the pitching department and they could be one of the better teams in the league.

I think it's a skill as well. But it will be hard for him to get a payout with all these injuries costing him playing time. I know Buxton got his, but Lewis is even more injured than him!
I’m a Twins fan and I can’t say I’m not bothered by his constant injuries but he’s not like Byron Buxton who is constantly getting hurt by trying to make fancy plays in center field… if both could stay healthy ALL SEASON long that would be wonderful but sadly they seem to play IR on the team…
It's such a shame that someone like that is plagued with those injuries. As a Nats fan, I understand the pain of losing great players to consistent injuries.
Unless Royce is fragile I think the trainers should find out what his workout regimen is because whatever he’s doing appears to be killing him. It could be a myriad of things? Trains to hard, doesn’t train hard enough, has the wrong workout regimen for his body type. Whatever it is he should get his own personal trainer to tweak his workouts. It also could be nutritionally based also. It’s too bad because he’s a Super Star like Buxton when he’s healthy. Don’t look now but I think we got another budding Super Star in Brooks Lee.
They are “crazy” injuries too. Like not much you can do about it. I will say and the stats prove it he actually gets better every time he comes back from injury so not worried on that front. Still I have to imagine these “fluke” injuries go away and he can do what he does best. So glad he is on the Twins.

I don’t know how you can fake a torn acl or a severe hamstring injury. He was hyping up the Yankees and jeter a lot earlier this season. Even shaved to match the yankee players
If lewis cant stay healthy in his early to mid 20s, the odds of him figuring it out all of a sudden in his late 20s is almost nil, hes has 2 major injuries to his knee, hes had to rehab those aton, he has obviously trained hard to get back but lost any sort of flexibility as he continues to pull an hurt muscles on the lower half. The twins have watched buxton barely play 100 games a year, he never figured out how to stay healthy and the odds of lewis doing it are low.
He's similar to Byron Buxton: fabulous, when they can play; they simply don't play enough due to injuries. Buxton is doing better in 2024, but such years are exceptions to the rule.
It's hard because if you deal with so many injuries in your early 20s, it makes it more difficult to be heathy later on in your career. I don't doubt that he will eventually have a full season, I just wonder how many.
The real question at this point is, what changes can he bring to his game to ensure he is healthier going forward? Because, we have seen that he is getting injured every year. Is it an organizational issue given Buxton's injury history? Does it get to a point where you tell a player to maybe hold back a little instead of giving it that 110%? It's definitely difficult to tell a player to not try their hardest, but that 2nd ACL injury was on a regular season game in late May where the Twins had a 5-game division lead. Do you really need to make a heroic play to make a catch like that given those circumstances? I feel like at a certain point, you have to realize that baseball is a marathon and not a sprint, so you can't just lay it all on the line in some game during the first half of the season when there is so much more to play for. At the end of the day, the best ability is availability. I feel I would rather have a player that hits for a .825 OPS in 150 games than someone who hits for .925 OPS in 75 games, but maybe that is just me.
Had to laugh looking at that prospect chart, considering how often Eloy Jimenez is injured. Hopefully the Twins get to see more of Lewis than us Sox fans get to see of Eloy.

You didn’t mention he struck out in half of his at bats against the Astros in the postseason. If he stays healthy he will slump just like everyone else.
P.E.D's will cause all kinds of injuries....he needs to stop that stuff, was he injured alot before playing in the bigs? If not then something is up......
It is WAY too early to be calling this. Buxton didnt start being healthy til this year and notable retired player Paul Molitor also was one of those late bloomers. Royce is 25 this year and still has plenty of time in his career. Would it be great if he was the paragon of health and an ironman absolutely but the kid is still young. If we are having these issues 2 years from now when he would be entering his prime then i think its safe to have this discussion.
It's all about training. I suspect he only trains with baseball related activities. Id get him swimming laps, riding a bicycle, and dancing ballet. Srsly, no fooling.
I think it's a good idea. I play soccer but I just started doing pilates and I think it's been a great addition to my workouts. Jake Arrieta did the same before he broke out.

his often getting injured is pissing me off, and im not even a twins fan. fcking stay healthy or gtfo of the game dude.
You’re making it seem so much easier than it is.
Wow I’m sure Royce is going to lose sleep at night knowing William P U is pissed at him.
Us twins fans are depressed rn 😞
3B Troy Tulowitzki
this is how fragile some of us expected chris sale to be
I'm glad to see Sale back to his best. I'm hoping he could win his first Cy-Young!
Buxton 2.0 ironically a twins as well
It's definitely looking that way :(
Twins not drafting elite injury prone players in the first round impossible challenge.
lol
P.E.D's will cause all kinds of injuries....he needs to stop that stuff, was he injured alot before playing in the bigs? If not then something is up......
It is WAY too early to be calling this. Buxton didnt start being healthy til this year and notable retired player Paul Molitor also was one of those late bloomers. Royce is 25 this year and still has plenty of time in his career. Would it be great if he was the paragon of health and an ironman absolutely but the kid is still young. If we are having these issues 2 years from now when he would be entering his prime then i think its safe to have this discussion.
God should have molded him using his better Royce Clay-ton
lol
Yeah the might get a sub runner for him cuz we don’t want he tearing his ACL
I think he needs to see more time at DH so he can get off his feet.
Send him to the Squat University guy to heal up his weak links in his body.
We have another buxton
Shit, Miami should trade for him. We're great with injured superstars lmao
🤣
I just saw that it looks as though Chisholm will be traded this deadline
anyways, brooks lee is looking great
He is! He's another guy to keep an eye on.
And Jose Miranda picking it up
@@samueldrazkowski2908 glad he is putting in work to. 12 hits in 13 ab is just amazing
Jake Arrieta did the same before he broke out.
from the strem go jays
Appreciate you!
The RUclips/tiktok accent really is a thing.
Yup lol
Twins have horrible injury luck, Correa keeps getting hit in the hands/wrist by pitches, Kepler has had issues, Buxton obviously
It's getting pretty ridiculous I agree.
This guy is so good. He'd easily be a top10 player if he just stayed healthy.
Agreed! Hopefully we get that healthy season soon...
DFA him he's a liability to keep on any MLB roster. Time to find a new job Royce, once that won't cause you to get hurt every month.
Sucks being a twins fan
he is so fragile. he reminds me of mondesi jr.
Twin getting injury prone MVP, challenge impossible
Haha, they've definitely seen this before.
Send him to the Squat University guy to heal up his weak links in his body.

Haha I love that guy.
