Hi Favor! I have a very late update for the anytime dining situation. We sailed this itinerary again in February of 2024 and there’s still a pretty long wait time for sea day brunch and dinner in the evening. The port day breakfast in the dining rooms was actually fast and no waiting. We have some tips on how to get a table quick. Yes, anytime dining fills up very fast, so unfortunately, you need to book a table right at 5:30 pm. And be in the atrium ready to go inside. We did this every night, we also spoke to the dining room attendant (her name was Hanna) who was able to hold the same table every night, so we could have the same wait staff as well. But only because we were early and able to go right in as they open up. Sea day brunch - if you want to be alone or sit as a couple, the waits can be up to 1.5 to 2 hours. Just tell them you’re ok to sit with anyone. And you’ll be seated at one of the large tables with a random group of passengers. It only takes 5-10 minutes wait for that. It’s so fun we had some great times with new friends on board at sea day brunch.
Additional comments, we had a very wonderful time on the Dream, you just have to plan ahead and be ready to eat early as possible if you can. I know if you have a long excursion during the day, that might be a problem, but just be aware. Not going to say everyone was happy. We saw a handful of very very upset passengers who were being told they had to wait over 1.5 hours for a table. We only got to eat one time in pasta Bella up on deck 11. It was always super packed for lunch, so we had to go elsewhere. It’s ok though there’s plenty of food, we definitely didn’t go hungry. Actually I gained a lot of weight on this cruise lol. 😂 what I did worry a little bit about was the long guest services lines near the end of the cruise. I hope they were not removing gratuities. I tipped extra generously to everyone who served us and left positive feedback on the Carnival survey just in case gratuities were being removed by others.
I love the Grand Lucayan. Love spending the day there.
We’re doing this cruise in may 24 for our anniversary and thought about just doing the pirate cove.

I enjoy your videos and vlogs! Back in April, we did this cruise and the wait time for dinner was unacceptable! Most nights we gave up and ate wherever was least crowded. Very disappointing!

I love your vlogs! I’m not sure if you remember me asking you about cruising from Galveston before, but we finally took our 1st cruise Nov 3-7th, and we’re going back for our 2nd cruise in May! I blame my addiction on you! 😂
Haha! I'll take the blame! :) It usually only takes one cruise and you are hooked! I am so glad you enjoyed it! If you can I highly suggest this cruise, the eastern from Galveston. It is the only one we have found that goes to HMC and that is a stop worthy of its own cruise. That vlog will be next. Hugs and cheers to many more cruises!
Favor and Rob, great video!. Love seeing the Dream again and Freeport. We went went on this same cruise last November. It was not even close to full, I don't remember the percentage, but it felt like 55-65%. Our dining was assigned time dining so, no waiting there and service was just amazing. Buffet lines were very short or no line at all. Even the omelet station was only 1 or 2 people in line, which is usually so long it's not worth the wait. Hopefully, they'll work out the kinks and adjust dining service to the increased passenger load. Alchemy Bar / Ocean Plaza area were the only places that possibly felt just a little busy at peak time after dinner. Thanks again for the videos. Take care.
Before Covid I never would have even noticed the ship being so busy, it was the norm. Now, after so many sailing at reduced capacity it was uncomfortable. I know we will adjust again. I miss reduced capacity! I am glad things are returning to normal or the new normal it will just take some getting used to. Big hugs my friend!

Thank you! Unfortunately the footage from the time we entered the port, got back on the ship and into the cabin is corrupted somehow... So it is not in the video.. We did enjoy Pirates Cove. That said next time we will take a taxi to the beach. I think we prefer to be in control of our arrival and departure times for excursions like this one. And, when there are unlimited bar drinks it makes the ride home a bit unpleasant. There were MANY intoxicated people on the bus and they made it a loud and worrisome ride back to the ship. Our poor tour guide had to come on the second level with bags just in case the alcohol came back up. So if I were to choose this excursion I would try and find one without unlimited drinks. Sorry to be negative but it was that bad. Hugs!
