- I recently used a Takomo Skyforger Wedge in a hole in one attempt video and it sparked a lot of interest in the budget clubs.
Following on from that I've taken all of the Takomo Wedges onto the course at Cammeray Golf Club to do a full club review!

Those wedges look amazing. Great review. I love a little par 3 course. It really helps with your approach shots. I also see you are trying out the seed ball.
Thanks and totally agree about the Par 3 courses, love them!! Just playing around more than anything but good spot.
Excellent video. I've been playing the Takomo 101 irons and Skyforger wedges (52 & 56) since early this year. Both have been excellent. The 101 PW is 44 degrees, and my lowest forged wedge was 52, which left a bit of a distance gap. I intended to order the 48 to fill the gap, but accidentally ordered another 52. I contacted customer service when I realized the error a couple of days later. They easily corrected my mistake and are sending a 48.
Great to know and glad you're enjoying all of your clubs!
Hey I want to buy a skyforger wedge
Would you recommend a 52 or a 56
I can only afford one
Im an average golfer at best
I have already ordered the 101 irons set
@@chrisdelahunt7494 The proper answer is gapping what distance is your last club in bag and what are you looking for ? 56 if you want to use as sand wedge out of a bunker 52 if you are looking more at full shots and bump and runs around the green ( that is my opinion )
Just had a 60 degree delivered and looking forward to trying it out as a replacement to my “old” lob wedge 🤞
Hope you like it!!
Going to have to check out the cammeray course!
You won't be dissapointed, they've done a great job with the redesign.
Great review Jon, you have me intrigued with Takomo clubs, I will definitely be looking into them further! Also keen to hear who the winner is from the hole in one video! cheers!
Thanks!! They seem like a really solid option from my experience. YES, the comp just closed so I'll be doing the draw this week!
Great review just what I was looking for I too play the ping glide 3.0 and 4.0 and really love them just interested in what else is out there
Glad it helped. I love my Ping Glide wedges, hence no real need to change. These were top wedges though!
Hi mate
I have purchased the takomo 101 iron set, 4 through to pw. I want to buy a skyforger wedge also but am unsure which one to get
Do you think the 52 or 56
I am an average player at best
Any advice would help me
Did you decide yet? I'm unhelpful to that combo as I play a 54 and although I carry a 60, basically never use it.
What do you think of the Seed golf balls
Like them. They're very solid and come at a good price. Imagine they'd suit a lot of golfers.
Wait until you need Takomo’s customer service. No response from emails for 6 months. That would never happen with an American company. I need to buy a 7 iron that was lost. Looks like all they do is link purchase of full sets and debit cards for orders. And how do you introduce a new utility iron and sell out in two weeks and need 6 weeks to complete an order. China must be slow.
Sorry to hear about your experience.
$170 aud including shipping not that cheap. Costco wedges are a better deal
I've not seen them anywhere near that price? How do the Costco one's go, not played them?
@@JonPerkinsGolf the Costco wedges are really nice, they are made by the same company that make callaway wedges
Awesome@@ShaunY1988 be good to check them out
Far more than the price listed as of 10/19/23..
Apologies@@iandobbs7823 if it's changed. They were in the past that price.
Takomo is garbage. After 20 months my 101T irons will not create any spin, hit low shots, and will not hold a green. They are made of cheap metal and the grooves collapse. I even used a groove tool to clean and in hopes for deeper groove but no go. Don’t buy clubs from a half ass cheap Finnish company made in a Chinese none quality control factory.
Sorry to hear that's your experience.
Great review, beautiful
Little course @cammeraygolfclub
Thanks and agreed, a gem of a course now
