  • P262 here: amzn.to/3evUyoW Our lifetime of *tool rankings*: torquetestchannel.etsy.com This month Hart of WALMART fame introduce the HPIW25 a brushless 1/2" impact wrench and it's not the typical price point you normally see Hart products going for. At $170 and 600 ft-lbs, it seems the brand is moving up market in some categories, lets find out if this is one that's worth it.

Hart power tools appear to be virtually identical to the Ryobi line, save how the battery slots into the tool. I primarily use outdoor power equipment, but in my experience Ryobi and Hart OPE show no difference other than color and (sometimes) price.

Im a technician at Subaru and when I started I brought my hart impact driver from home and now a year later I still use it to zap on lug nuts every single service. I also have a hart vacuum at home because it was better than the random Amazon options and already had a charger and a couple batteries from my impact driver that now doubled at work and my drill that I bought when I moved into my first house to have at least something to use if need be. I’ve used both to hang several lights a couple tvs and pictures. The regular everyday diy kit that every home should have. They have been dropped, kicked, thrown and stepped on. Still work great. I have coworkers I have seen spend between 6 and 1100 dollars for impact wrenches with their main use being removing lug nuts because the way my work is setup that tool saves you 5-10 minutes per service. I just bought one of these for $170 and now save that same 5-10 minutes per car for literally 2-8x less money. Just wanted to give a prime example of why this tool is absolutely worth the money In some circumstances. Hope this helps other people make a decision on what tool they really need and how much they need to spend to get that job done.

I've never had to warranty a tool from Walmart, I did find a 10 in chop saw from Hart that was $45 with the blade so I picked it up as a back up for the DeWalt 12 in and I'm impressed so far.... Half the weight with an LED guideline, fence and table are perfectly square. Even left it plugged up in a pop up rain storm on a job site... Thought it was dead throw it(literally) in the garage and tried it a few days later to find out it still worked. After this video I might give the brand another chance... Can always find Hart stuff on clearance for the batteries and chargers then.... Not that I need another battery platform... Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, craftsman, kobalt, Ryobi, Rockwell, Porter cable, Bostitch and Hitachi... No to mention chargers for the kids toys and the wife's electric yard stuff she had... Why not add another charger 😂

Professional use, possibly, but more geared for the homeowner who wants something better than the hyper tough crap. I have the hart 40v chainsaw, and it cuts through anything I have thrown at it, even downed a couple bigger Aspen trees without any issue at all. Can fill my pickup with a topper full to the top with 5 foot long logs on one battery, and then cut all that up into usable 16-18" logs once home on another battery. I still struggle to understand why TTI won't just sell ryobi and other brands in more places, is it really that strong of a pull into HD? I have to imagine they've run some analysis on this, but sometimes I question things, there's surely some cost there but there could be another strategy (Is this brand also diversified?). Harbor Freight knows they can get good money by expanding and partially filling the sort-of 'introductory professional' stuff. Tools good enough to be professional in use, a bit cheaper than the other guys, and at a convenient place that doesn't need a van coming around-that might not even always show up depending on vacation days. They can always then be upgraded later on, or simply kept until they break. And in this case, they won't break for quite awhile, which makes them even more attractive as their quality does seem to be quite a bit better nowadays.
Harbor Freight's just as likely to chop their lines of power tools as Craftsman is theirs-it's been a mainstay of their product line for years, they make good money on them, and customers are happy to buy them. Why mess with something that works?
As a sidenote, yes, DeWalt and Milwaukee and all the others can be bought at a bunch of stores-but how many of them will warranty it out by handing you a new one in its case?

For casual users the Hart brand as a whole is pretty solid when you add in their lawn and garden tool selection. You can purchase a push mower, a few drills, wrenches, saws, and a trimmer with 4-5 batteries and a couple chargers for the price of a Milwaukee 18V mower and you don't have to fork over all the money at once.

I often pick up Hart tools at 50 to 80 % off on clearance, and I also pay less on eBay as open box items. Hart tool may not be as good as the professional tool but fantastic DIY option, save money so you can buy more tools and let's be honest the Hart bits are a great value

The hart brand is also a test bed for the a new battery platform for ryobi. And before became walhart it was an all American made hand tool company.

    Hart is coming along though...
they have been steadily expanding their line... their OPE is surprisingly good...also if you're not a fan of the Ryobi batteries which a lot of people aren't Hart is the next best obvious choice (in that same level) in my opinion...

Kinda funny. For shits and giggles a few years ago I bought a handful of HyperTough 1/4" hex driver impacts for around $6 on clearance in January.
Guess this is why, they went to Hart.

@@ObservationofLimits And that's what would worry me about buying hart anything battery powered. Most likly going to disappear sooner then later, and by that I meen Alot quicker then any of the more main stream brands (yellow, red, blue, orange or even the neon green one). I look at all the harbor freight cordless tools the same way, it's the battery long term availability not nessacerly just the tool. Plus the prices of these cheap" ones are getting close to matching the top of the line stuff. Not to mention warrantys.

I think tear down of the tools should become part of the testing. When one manufacturer is making a group of competing tools, it would be nice to compare the similarities of thier builds. Also since what happened with the Milwaukee revision, it would be possible to tell quality of the build.

interesting to note that from HD, the 262 is still $179 tool only. So this price for the Hart seems to make sense when not considering 3rd party Amazon options. (the $135 option on Amazon is not sold/shipped by Amazon themselves)

I can’t say how much but it would most definitely do better with the bigger battery. The amp draw is distributed better across the cells meaning less voltage sag that’s true of every brand.

I just want to know about Torque NM Value. If I use impact wrench only for motorcycle but it's 100cc scooter(VF100 or VM100N) Is it suitable for 100cc scooter at least over 500NM or 800NM? Sometimes I need to repair or replace CVT belt or engine parts. Also I'm looking for cheapest one.

I was watching this with some interest since I am invested in Hart 40V tools. I didn't see anything here to convince me to start looking at their 20V tools, though, since I'm fairly committed to DeWalt 20V tools already. I *am* in the market for a smaller, brushless impact tool - I already have a DeWalt brushed one that is quite mean but just too long for some work.
