Finkle Pottery has a great Fire Brick Red combo that you may like. Love that you are all watching each other's videos, as I do. Your work is very inspiring ❤
Loved your kilnopening! And the peacock looked great I think! And you are right it is such a great community and so sharing and loving! I would love to see your studio and store, when you do a blog. And so great that you got a coffee, you deserve it!❤
Hi Kim, northern lights never gets boring. Love the platter. I quite like your peacock mug. I love the pottery community. With just starting out on my own RUclips I have been blown away with the support and encouragement. I love watching your videos and definitely don’t find you awkward. ❤
Hi...I am in love with that mug that you do not like LOL LOL with all the stroke & coat colors. Im going to try it for sure! (and I will watch out for the runs...thanks
Thank you! It was great to meet you this week😊. Loved your shop and the quick tour. It felt like stopping to see an old friend. You have created a great community !
Yes Kim that would be awesome,to see what you do and videos are always great Ty for sharing all your work, tips and tricks the peacock cup is great !I would also like to know what color inside the cup was, you said cinnamon?look forward to the next opening
It was me who asked about the Winterwood :), Thank you for the extra information, I’m an absolute beginner to glazing , and just bought a kiln which gets wired in next week. so all information is so helpful. I love your northern lights glaze. I’m in australia so I might have to do a version try of your combination. Hope it looks somewhat similar to yours , I’ll have to buy you a coffee for that since I can’t buy a mug :). And you didn’t look awkward at all ❤️
Another great kiln opening along with the things that didn't work well. It's good to share those too. Well said about the pottery community. I find the same thing. Pottery is not my main income but more a hobby since retirement, where I sell my creations at local summer and holiday markets. There are other potters as the same markets and each of us have different stuff. Thanks again for sharing.
NOT awkward AT ALL! Great kiln opening! LOVE your peacock technique mug! Seriously, I love it! Question: Cream breaking Rust Glaze? You must mix that, correct? It's cool! Thanks for sharing!
I just found you. Love your kiln opening 'splain! And I found you thru watching Sara Walton. So - - kismet~ Your "Northern Lights" design is brilliant marketing! I will def. follow you. Hugs, Cat
Thanks Kim for sharing. I’m going to rewatch and write down your directions. Your a joy . I also had some runners in my last kiln opening but I’m going to chock it up to learning a new glaze. It was Castile blue by spectrum. Gorgeous color, just don’t do heavy layers.definitely test on some junk cups first. Thanks again for all you do!🤗💕
HIIII Kim!!! I love the mug you don't like! Just needs a little grinding and maybe a raised cookie incase the glaze drips off next time. So strange that you had some melt downs with my combos...sorry 😬...you did exactly what i did, with the exception that I have the carved texture! Anyhoo..I hope you try it again because it will look STUNNING on your curvy mugs! Maybe go higher up with the stagger bcuz of no horizontal breaks... I totally agree with you, this community is so very supportive and I love learning from you and others...btw you are NOT awkward! Love watching you and THANK YOU for sharing your pottery process! 😘
Hi Kim, love your crazy peacock mug i think maybe less sandstone or higher up. But its a gorgeous combo! Love the pink pumpkins too and that first mug with blue hydrangea was so pretty! Great opening 👏
OH, and, I had just watched Sara's pumpkin video. OMG don't I want to tackle THAT! You nailed the stem, and maybe 2 generous coats of Fuzzy Peach may fix it all. And eliminate Sunrise? But what created all of that white at the bottom????? You just never know with the glaze gods. Lookinh forward to your future videos! Hugs, cat
I love your videos. I’m relatively new to pottery and just starting to experiment with glaze combinations. For the northern Lights, did you paint bands of seaweed over the obsidian?
I love the pink ones and the one you said was a fail was gorgeous! If you put a lighter color on the bottom I think it would look amazing. Thats really odd that it did run because the sandstone is a matte. I finally got my engobe pieces bisqued and noticed they feel very rough. I used a 1500 grit sanding pad on the engobes and it worked perfectly and they feel great now.
@@undsethpottery Thanks! I wash off all of my bisque and then lay it on towels in the kitchen with a fan on it to dry and I also sand anything that needs it so I thought I’d try to sand the engine and it worked really well. I was so happily surprised! I have the sanding sponges from Diamond core but that’s ONLY because they had a 2 for one sale and I bought the bats and for the sponges for free. Lol
For your northern lights glaze - how do you get so much blue to show up? When I do it three times obsidian, three times seaweed, the seaweed almost disappears into the black. I tried to put it on heavy. Is that the only hint? Heavy application?
I'm not the artist but wanted to say probably don't do 3 layers of obsidian as it eats up glazes. Just do 2 thin coats and try the northern light colors over that x3 each.
Thank you so much! I am doing a video right now, should be ready in a few days, off my process with making and glazes, so that should help you with the glazing! I also did a video a few months back called, “a day in a life of a potter” in that video I showed how to glaze some pieces!

I try to go over the same area 3 times but slightly different each time, not exact! I’m doing a vlog this week and I will try to add glazing Northern lights in it!
Yes, I would love a breakdown of your first month being monetized! Thank you so much for sharing!
I love that multi color dot mug. I love how it dripped except for the fact that it ran off the bottom, the color combos are great!
Thank you! It’s growing me, perhaps I will try again!

Yes I think I might even like it better 😊
I love watching and listening to you describe your colors. You do remember most of them! Thank you for the great videos.

Yes, I did 3 bands of seaweed each layer slightly different!

I will have to give it one more try, with a few tweaks😊
