What I especially appreciate about your openings is the joy you convey about the process. And you rarely struggle to remember the glaze combos. Such a lovely and generous person.
Thank you, Lisa, for the mention. I showed Mikki, and she was surprised and a bit flustered, which was so cute. I've been after her to start her own RUclips channel, and now I think she's going to give it a go. Great combos as always. You've got such a knack with glazes!
Lovely kiln unload Lisa. It’s always fun to see what comes out of your kiln openings. Ideas for that adorable snowman ⛄️ dish: 1st idea. Add a layer all over the sky of Bayou Blue and then a coat or two of Obsidion. 2nd idea. Mix 2 Stroke & Coats: ratio- 1/8 tuxedo black & 7/8 Moody Blue I’d apply 2 coats. I’d love to see how it turns out after you figure out what you’re going to try. I’ve told you before but I’ll say it again. You are a master inventor of glaze combos! Like you, I also appreciate the beauty of bright bold colors… they make you feel all good inside. Hope you’re having a nice fall! 💜 Natalie (from Maryland)
Wow Lisa, I cannot choose a fave! Everything is so great. There's a few new ones there I would like to try! Hey, thanks for that kind shout out! That's pretty nice studio you have behind you, lady. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!
Great Kiln unload!!!! That papaya and frosted turquoise combo!!! Defiantly going to have to try that. Thank you for sharing!!!! I may not always comment but I always hit that Like button .🙂
Thank you for sharing all your glazes combinations. I love the snowman plate, I hope you don’t mind I might copy your idea. I made some gingerbread houses with the snowman and was looking for something new.
@@finklepottery704 I went to Tucker’s on Saturday… it’s already been 10 weeks , they said they are having a difficult getting some part 🙄……so it’s could be a few more weeks ……… impatiently waiting ….
Such beautiful combinations! I would love to see you do a glazing video, showing how you do some of the combos, do you do strait lines, or wavy when brushing, etc.
As always such a perfect kiln load!! I think the turq lake with Norse blue and olive float is my favorite but I also love the bowl with the yellow and blue!!
Great spectrum combos! I've got that sample pack I've been itching to try but haven't yet had time. So fun to see the ones you've paired together. Have an amazing time in Greece if it all works out 🤞it looks like they reached a deal on time. I think blue hydrangea will definitely spice up your cute snowman platter, either that or night moth but maybe it would be too dark, you could pair it with a lighter blue too.
Thanks Amanda! Some great suggestions on the platter. I’m leaning towards sponging some deeps sea over it with dabs of blue hydrangeas. Fingers crossed
Hi Lisa, another great kiln unload! Thanks for the shoutout! There are so many combos that I love. The one with fuzzy peach, papaya and floating turquoise is my new fave also. Loved your snowman platter and I didn’t see the blotchy or very little. I wonder if you use pearl luster over the blue would solve the issue. But I don’t know if it would be food safe. Thanks for sharing!❤
Thank you so much for sharing 😊 I’m starting to play around with my kiln settings but it’s a bit intimidating lol Im going to get the Louisiana Bayou next time I go pottery shopping!
With lithium being so expensive… keep an eye out for retiring potters. Our community club has scored some great chemicals from some potters. And yes, Lithium as well!
I haven't been able to get the new spectrum floating glazes in California and its making me so sad. I find spectrum to run but they are so lovely, and reasonable priced! Jessica Pacifica, Ca.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for the kiln opening everytrhing's so lovely! Are you using Amaco's Frosted Turquoise? I never get that shade of green when I use it, maybe it's the layering process that pulls out the undertones. I was going to try the combination with the Frosted Turquoise on the top layer and wanted to double check that I have the correct one :-) Thank you!
So what do you think the cost per bowl is if lithium is in the mix. ?? Lithium prices are Down from Covid I think it went from 100Lb to 1000lb but now back down to 60lb if you look around.
What is the meaning behind PEI girl? Your glazes are amazing. My biggest struggle is getting them to blend instead of having the blunt stop and start lines.

Great kiln opening, love what your doing with the new spectrum glazes ❤
Right back at you Kim!
I’m so impressed with your memory recall ! Thanks for another awesome kiln opening !
Hi Shawn! If I waited a day or two after glazing to fire I think my memory might fail me lol. Did your new kiln arrive.

They will be worth the wait. I’ve been using them for a while and hands down they are my favourite
As far as your snowman plate goes....someone mentioned that they have really good luck with stroke and coat going over glazes...just a thought
Thanks!

@skcamerican binge watching kiln openings is so fun! Now you gotta get to the studio!!!
It says to wear gloves when applying holly green, do you know why? Nice pieces! -Liana
Hi Liana. I haven’t seen that anywhere. Perhaps they mean if you have a dipping glaze and you are going to put your hands in the bucket?

What is the meaning behind PEI girl? Your glazes are amazing. My biggest struggle is getting them to blend instead of having the blunt stop and start lines.
PEI stands for Prince Edward Island. Some glazes definitely like to blend more than others but I find spectrum glazes to be very fluid
What brand rootbeer glaze do you use? My Mayco rootbeer is so dark.
