I heard an interview with him, apparently he kinda obsessed over Phantom and the role of Erik for years, so it was his dream come true to play him. He doesn't see him as the villain but the victim. Listen to his albums, there are too many references in his songs. Angels and mirrors and masks. I think he sees Erik very much as the flawed man he is rather than the black hat.
@@beesare_cool ramin first played in the west end production of phantom a few years before love never dies! it's just that he came back to perform phantom again for the 25th anniversary
Also the revisions Webber did for the Australian version make it much better. the part where Eric sing's "he see's me" is better in the Australian version. It's a shame that the Australian version wasn't the original, I think it would have been much better received.
I hope that ALW keeps his plans to bring LND to Broadway and with the time that has passed with Ramin and Sierra becoming more mature that he can get them to sing his music once more.
I love Anna and Ben so very much but Sierra and Ramin will always be my choice number one, the chemistry between the two of them and the surreal manner of the way they perform simply enchants me. It's passionate, chilling and frightening to the bone. BRAVO!
A filmed version of this would have been better than the Australian Version (even though it is good too) cos Ramin and Sierra did the 25th Anniversary show and if Hadley Fraser had played Raoul in it it would have felt like a true sequel
***** Umm, Gustave in this one is terrible - he sounds like a random kid they just found - watch the Aus version, the boy in that is amazing. Also, the sets are way better - especially for this scene, in fact - you could just watch this scene in the Aus version to see what I'm taking about. And what someone else said about it does apply: With Ramin & Sierra, they've played it pretty much exactly the same as they were in PTO, whereas Ben & Anna have actually realised that the show is set 10 years later, Christine has been through a lot more hardships (eg Raul's alcoholism), thus she's not the innocent/naive girl that she was in PTO. With Ben & Anna, you can see that they're much more adult now.
If I'm remembering correctly I believe they had 4-6 different boys play Gustave in London. The boy on the cd(Harry child) is the main kid to play him and he has an incredible voice just like the Aussie boy!!
Vousie V There were multiple boys who played Gustave because they were younger and needed to go to school. If you listen to the cast recording for this musical the boy that does the cast recording is AMAZING! This boy isn't as good and has no expression in his voice but he did do a good job. I would never have been able to preform in front of all those people at that age!
Yeah I love Hadley he is my favorite Raoul. But for some reason he was replaced by some other guy that sounds like shit. I'm sorry but I can't stand the London version of Raoul. There's something about him that I hate.
I think Ramin have the perfect voice to performs as the Phantom, such a dramatic and transmitted voice. And Sierra it's just amazing as Christine. I wish they had filming this version of LND
My favorite part in this version is when Ramin sing "You'll accept it, you'll embrace it, let me show you the beauty under..." and takes his mask and wig off
Despite "Love Never Dies" being a flop in London, you cannot deny the fact that Ramin and Sierra are probably one the best onstage Phantom and Christine. Their voices together are just spectacular. And seeing their chemistry captured professionally for the 25th... just flawless.
God, how much I love this production!!!!!! I respect everyone´s opinion but I ask this to myself again and again and again: How do people really wanted this story to end?! Since I heard that not so many people believed in this musical nor in the story... It is so realistic!!! Everyone can see it in the direction their own lives have gone, maybe better than what they expected or not that much... What really really truly bothers me, is that ALW didn´t record in video this cast that he called himself "full of chemistry and talent", how much I wish I could have the entire show with the original London cast and I´m waiting axiously for him to bring it to Broadway!
I like both Australian and London, both have their flaws, style, and emotions, they are unique. I don't consider love never dies canon to POTO but I still enjoy watching it
So intense. The words they share and the meanig of them just give me chills everytime. Soul to soul, with all this weakness and unrequieted love... Maybe the whole LND's story is a little bit strange - seriously? A freaks circus in Coney Island? - but there are some songs that are pure gold. Like this one. Thank you for post this. (:
I wish ALW could team with Tim Burton and make a LND musical movie. It would be phantastic if Ramin and Sierra could play the main characters on a movie version now they actually are ten years older.
YES!!!!! I've been RUclips-ing since last night looking for an audible original London version... I prefer the cast on this one too. They should market a DVD for the original cast too. What's great about the way Ramin played the Phantom on this, it's exactly the same way when he did the 25th Anniversary Phantom. Makes you see the continuum of the story. Thank you for posting!!!!!
I would like to see them in the Australian set and costumes (my opinion) they're perfect. Sierra is now playing Christine in Fantasma dela Opera (hope thats right) in Paris.
I remember seeing this for the first time and at the lyric "is there music in your head" thinking -welp I must be related to Erik because YES.- There's almost always a tune playing in the back of my head. I'm not even kidding. And it's not always the tune of any song that I've even heard.
OMG beautiful, awesome, Ramin sings this with such conviction, his phantom is still slightly unhinged, and he is so happy he has a son. Ramin and Sierra have such chemistry, I get tingles every single time I watch this version. Thank you so much for posting :))
I saw Phantom of the Opera with Sierra Bogges and Ramin Karimloo. I liked it. But what about love never dies I liked the Australian version is much more than OLC. Because Ramin and Sierra in the second part of the PotO remained the same as in the first. Ramins same emotions, same cute Sierras face . But 10 years have passed! Phantom must be older! And Christina gave birth to 10 years and has a son. She had to grow up but it is still the same. And in the Australian setting things right. All adults. I can see That Christine (Anna) is mother. And the Phantom (Ben) is a calm adult man. Here in OLC Phantom is a boy ang Christine is a girl
I wonder what that look was for, right about 3:20, where Ramin glances at the girl (Fleck?) I also love how he reacts when Gustav touches his arm. I love this clip. Wish there was a DVD of this cast!!!! Sigh....just gotta enjoy what there is here on RUclips. Man, that voice (Ramin's). I melt every time I hear Till I Hear You Sing. I listen to these clips 1 or more times a day. Just can't get enough!
omg i just can't get enough of this song, and particularly the part which starts at 7:55, ramin's "when i hear you sing..." and sierra's "once more" just love them ♥ so sad i missed the show, but very thankful for these videos
I kind of like how they did his deformity makeup here. It was good in Phantom of the Opera, but the first time I saw it here it immediately reminded me of a "death's head" like in the original book and 1925 silent film.
What I don't like about it is the exposed brain tissue. No human being can walk around with their brain exposed and open like that. They would get an infection! Not very realistic.
***** Eish ok, calm down :) I'm not trying to cause trouble, I'm just agreeing with "The Phantom's" comments. Pls accept my apology if I was rude without realising it. It's just what I, and many others, might take away from this scene.
As much as I'd rather this canon sequel not exist...This scene/plot point is the one reason I'm fine with that it does. The song is great and I love that it's there as the Phantom preparing a little boy to handle seeing his face for the first time, a boy whom he suspects to be his own son. It makes the song all the more fantastic and powerful. Sierra is great, and I feel fuzzy and warm about that Erik has a child. Or rather that Erik found so much happiness and pride in having a child even if he couldn't be in that child's life or even have the child know who he really is. Because Erik deserves such a good thing i'm not ignoring all the terrible things he's done, thoigh. Just looking at the character as a whole; he was born an innocent, has done many good things too and the horrific experiences in his life far outweight the good. He deserved to father a child who got a better chance in life and carry on his genes and be his legacy to a degree. Still, not a fan of any other part of this plot. Not even the ending with the son. There was potential in this concept of the Phantom having a child, potential that this play's writers just didn't handle maturely.
So, you'll literally excuse a murderer because they had a rough start in life? The Phantom *chose* to kill people. The choice to reciprocate hatred and violence with more the same was entirely his choice alone. In POTO he achieves redemption by committing the selfless act of letting Christine go. LND says "nah. Screw that." And the Phantom is back to being an a**hole, only now an a**hole with money, still threatening people to get what he wants. So no. He doesn't deserve a happy ending in LND . His happy ending was at the end of POTO where he finally thought of someone else's happiness instead of his own for once.
I love how people say something on here but then block the comments! If ur gonna say it say it don't hide and back up ur comment. Don't be a coward and block people from commenting, own it!
To be honest, when I first saw LND I disliked it quite a bit. But once I saw Ramin and Sierra performing it, it was much better. They just play the character so well, you know they are still the same people, even though time has passed
Anni renee The point of LND is that they're not the same people that they were: They're much more adult now. Christine's not the naive girl that she was in PotO. Ramin & Sierra are playing it as if LND is set the day after PotO ended.
Vousie V There is a difference from growing from your experiences and becoming such a completely different character that you couldn't be considered the same person. Yes Christine and the Phantom have grown since the end of the last musical, but they are still suppose to be Phantom and Christine. And if you ask me Christine is way more naïve in this musical than she ever was in Phantom, She doesn't even get to make an empowering decision like in the first musical, She doesn't know she is being used by the men who love her so what she chooses to do shouldn't be that conflicting, to her it's just a song not a life altering decision. Not to mention the whole night under the moonless sky thing umm why would Christine go back to him let alone that soon, she made it pretty clear that when they said goodbye that was the last time they would see each other. Even if you talk about the other characters in this show they are not cannon to the first, Raoul could not have possible gambled his fortune away because, he has money to buy all those objects from he Opera at the beginning of the first musical. Also why has he become the bad guy? Yes we don't really like him because we want Christine to love the Phantom but Raoul was never a bad guy and it makes since why Christine chooses him over the Phantom. In LND they just make him evil...because Phantom must be the better alternative? Meg is terrified of Phantom and not crazy enough to steal her best friends child. Madame Giry wouldn't have gone back to Phantom because she was scared of him by the end of the musical and there I No way he would have ever trusted her again. Yes time can change a person but if it was changed this much then they should have just made a sequel that starts right after the first one ends.
I love love love this song! In my opinion the best in LND. I like that we get to see the Phantom 'out in the open', instead of running around in the rafters/cellars. He's in total control of his surroundings and Ramin is obviously loving playing him that way.
Yes, if you decide to put the other clips up somewhere else, I'd love to know too!! This cast, IMO, is SO much better. I love Ramin & Sierra. Just got done watching 25th anniversary of Phantom, again. Lol. The chemistry between those two is amazing. Sigh...
I LOVE their voices but I don't like the way this version was set up. I don't think the Phantom should choke her. I like the Australian version better in the way it's set up. I wish Sierra and Ramin could do it that way and then it would be PERFECT!
RAMIN! :D ♥♥♥ This song is sick. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful meaning. Beautiful arrangement. Well done, ALW. :) My inner/outer Ramin/Sierra fangirl is screaming.
i love this one with the faces at the top of the stage and that skeleton - you really have had to of been there in person when it was performed in london :D
I seriously don't like this set. It makes the Australian one look so much better. Ramin and Sierra are great though. If they had a set as great as the Australian's I'd go to see that show!
Oh God, this smile on his face... Ramin is the best Phantom ever - just because this is HIS character. He feels it, he makes Phantom unforgettable... He have such passion, and tendernes, and power... And he is crazy a bit... He IS Phantom! The Angel of Music and Opera Ghost, and he is still Erik - someone, who deserves love... ...I really love his face in this performance - its deformity, I think, is even better than in some POTO staging. It`s scaring... but awesome ♥
OMG I get tingles when watching this (which I never got watching the Australian dvd) Ramins phantom remains just a little unhinged, and its nice to see him smile because he found out he has a son. Bens phantom seems to cry such alot, and Annas christine seems scared of him, no passion, however did they manage to produce Gustave. Love Ramin and Sierra, they practically sizzle on the stage. Just saying!!!
I hear ya! I am the exact same way, except I have "One Day More" from Les Mis as my ringtone! LOL Ramin and Sierra are awesome! They don't need autotune like all of these up and coming pop and hip hop singers today!
Thats the test of how powerful a voice Ramin has.If any singer can make the hairs in the back of your neck stand up,then they are a great singer!Nancy Costello.
the chemistry and emotion between christine and phantom/sierra and ramin is just incredible. WE MUST GET THE ORIGINAL LONDON CAST ON DVD. i'm so upset i missed it
omfg it seems like this production is so much better!!!!!! why didnt they record this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! roooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I prefer the father-son relationship in London version. The phantom looked like a nice daddy to me. Other versions are creepy as hell, especially when the phantom told him "SING FOR ME." wtf
I did veiw the other videos on your Vimeo channel thank you so much for sharing your videos it's my only way to see the play with Ramin & Sierra. I keep hoping they will put it on video someday.
I love how this musical is like an operatta and then this song blasts out like it came out of a rock show.
Both the original phantom and LND are kind of satires of opera
Slightly dark opera songs :)
HARD ROCK AND ROLLLLLLLLLLL YEAAHHH
Is it just me, or when Ramin sings, "My world is beautiful," does it make him feel like he's not just playing the Phantom, he IS the Phantom?
+Emmi Kostiainen 😂😂 i totally see myself when "playing" sth
+emmuuz c Oh my lord yes
nope. I feel it too

Well, the Phantom is misunderstood
Is it me or did Ramin's Phantom get hotter in this musical?
It's the robe making him hotter
I was there, I felt like I was at a rock concert, it was breathtaking.....
Yes!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but they did this before Phantom of the Opera, right?
@@beesare_cool ramin first played in the west end production of phantom a few years before love never dies! it's just that he came back to perform phantom again for the 25th anniversary
The way he catches that page and improvs the flick of his wrist whilst he smiles at it. Ugh he's such a good actor
Yes. Such a hopeful happy Phantom, it is funny to see it...

Yes, but he does prefer the Melborn production over the London production.
How?

Scott Hamp He said so in an interview.
Hân Nguyễn The Melbourne production was a stage show, and had changes that Webber desired to have that never made it to the West End production. :P
I love the face the Phantom makes at 1:51 when Gustave grabs his arm. 😂

Ramin has this tendency to overuse hand gestures, but here it just works. I love it. Sierra is, as usual, perfect. Just... wow. This acting.
Karimloo sings this so perfectly.

Yes!!! Thank you!!! This song is so amazing and thank heaven for Ramin!
I love love love this song! In my opinion the best in LND.
I like that we get to see the Phantom 'out in the open', instead of running around in the rafters/cellars.
He's in total control of his surroundings and Ramin is obviously loving playing him that way.
I prefer this version to the album version. I wish they recorded this, Sierra sounds incredible. and so does Ramin!
Someone gave me a live of these two singing and acting beneath a moonless sky and I can die happily.
I love the London production of this very dark costumes the trio are very tiny burton :) and let's not forget the lovely Ramin
wow the kids voice is high!
I WANT ANOTHER MOVIE, LIKE RIGHT NOW!
god! this so was made for Ramin! god...his voice!!!!
The child's voice is sooooooooo sweet!!!
I heard at least 10 phantoms Ramin is the best #1
BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phantom looks great! I like the coat and that hair :)
I know. I wish I had the wig
And this wig looks more like his real hair than the one in POTO did
Absolutely! It suits him.
I mean...the Phantom does have a thing about hanging and strangling people, this seems pretty much on point
RAMIN! :D ♥♥♥
This song is sick. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful meaning. Beautiful arrangement. Well done, ALW. :) My inner/outer Ramin/Sierra fangirl is screaming.
My gosh I really love this!!!
I love how he can be so caring and compasstionate then gets pissed and tries to choke Christine, I love how he is just multiple reactions
i love this one with the faces at the top of the stage and that skeleton - you really have had to of been there in person when it was performed in london :D
I seriously don't like this set. It makes the Australian one look so much better. Ramin and
Sierra are great though. If they had a set as great as the Australian's I'd go to see that show!
+MusicSharkChic The Aussie was was way scaled down from the original LND
rock opera buddy
I love this!!!
OHHH I have been loking for original london Love Never Dies videos For FOREVER
Ramin
I hear ya! I am the exact same way, except I have "One Day More" from Les Mis as my ringtone! LOL Ramin and Sierra are awesome! They don't need autotune like all of these up and coming pop and hip hop singers today!
My favorite song from Love Never Dies
it really makes me sad how they did not make a DVD for the original London cast... I believe they did a better job from the clips I have seen
Hi like Sierra and Ramin in POTO and I like Anna and Ben in LND.
how Anna and Ben?
Btw, did you know that Anna was also in POTO?
Yes I did know that she was very good in POTO but I like her better in LND. And I like Ramin and Sierra in POTO.
C Woz same
His deformity isn't even that bad.. I could live with that if I was his kid.
*Erik please adopt me*
Thats the test of how powerful a voice Ramin has.If any singer can make the hairs in the back of your neck stand up,then they are a great singer!Nancy Costello.
the chemistry and emotion between christine and phantom/sierra and ramin is just incredible. WE MUST GET THE ORIGINAL LONDON CAST ON DVD. i'm so upset i missed it
I just love Ramin so friggin much!
Fave scene 😍
Also... I just was able to watch the whole play online and my thoughts were "wow... The Greatest Showman went through a phase" 😅😅😅
omfg it seems like this production is so much better!!!!!! why didnt they record this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! roooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gotta love that Gru-like guy whose hand pops out of his suit and grabs gustaves.
Ramin is brutally good as The Phantom
Ramin is probably my favourite opera singer.
no scratch that, my favourite singer in general.
Ramin Larimloo and Ben Lewis are awesome in Love Never Dies and both are great phantoms.
I wish I could have seen this!!! Thank so much for posting.
I prefer the father-son relationship in London version. The phantom looked like a nice daddy to me. Other versions are creepy as hell, especially when the phantom told him "SING FOR ME." wtf
I wish this so bad too!! I just love their voices and their acting choices are so amazing!!
I did veiw the other videos on your Vimeo channel thank you so much for sharing your videos it's my only way to see the play with Ramin & Sierra. I keep hoping they will put it on video someday.
Omg omg thanks for uploading the clip and it good too.. Wish it was out in dvd though..
if i was christine when the phantom chokes me id be thinkin OMG HES TOUCHING ME OMGGGG XD probabs cuz its ramin
