What I love about musical theater is the way they prioritize the communication of the emotion over the exact musical accuracy, and it always works so well. Of course they are absurdly talented singers, but really being able to belt out a note that feels right even if its a little sharp or flat is really really really impressive, and it always makes the performance feel so much more alive than say a studio recording

I read Tarot, and because of the way I tend to interpret both the Lovers and Devil cards, I could come up with soooooo much commentary on Erik's line of "You try my patience! Make your choice!" Because both of those cards are all about choices/consequences thereof, etc.....and Christine is probably dealing with ALL the feels (including ones where she's still probably attracted to Erik on some level bc he's a musician and he gets her -- "but...but...what will society think? Hunchback is absolutely amazing. It's easily the best Disney movie musical stage adaptation and doesn't get nearly enough credit or publicity. I didn't really know what to think when we got tickets and left blown away. I will go see it again in a heartbeat if it comes back.

Wow - what a great compilation! I teared up at 'He Lives In You' because I once put on a production of The Lion King with an old class of mine and those memories are very dear to me, particularly as I no longer teach. Also, the first clip is something special. I've watched it about 20 times in this sitting alone!

The part in Les Mis that always gets me is the "to love another person is to see the face of God," trailing off into the hushed chorus of, "Do you hear the people sing, lost in the valley of the night." That combined with Eponine joining in with Fantine at the end always gives me chills.
