Having seen a lot of video reviews on this car, yours is refreshingly different. Well done. Liked your honest, open approach. Any suggestions? I like seeing the road ahead from the drivers viewpoint, then I can understand the conditions you are facing (though I do like your taste in tee shirts!).
This new generation of Honda Hybrid does not use a mechanical CVT system with cones and belt drive, it is more of a serial hybrid where the engine drives a generator that feeds an electric motor turning the wheels. Above a certain speed a clutch closes between the engine and wheels, bypassing the generator/motor (electrical CVT), directly driving the wheels. The earlier Honda hybrids (IMA system) did use a belt CVT and motor where the flywheel would be on an engine, but not this latest development. Check out Alex on Autos excellent description of the system.
Hi..Want to buy another jazz, but !!!!!! What is point of me giving up my 20 reg jazz ex petrol, for another petrol with a battery that gives me a bit more power and about 1 or 2 miles in electric for about 9 grand more than I paid for the petrol car .......should I stick with what I've got ???
