that actor played that character to perfection, i actually wish they let elias survive to the very end, even if it meant him being a leader of the criminal underworld
Although Elias was part of the criminal underworld he was a very respectful, intellegent individual who was loyal to those that were respectful in return. The fact that Harold on John were trying to save lives wasn't overlooked by Elias, he just saw that they were doing it in a criminal manner. He never judged them for it. I think he actually found it amusing. At the end there I think Harold found him to be a friend. John was as well. Even elias told Harold he couldn't afford to lose another friend.
There was a lot of mutual respect. Elias never killed anyone unless necessary and Finch always did the right thing. And even tho Carter was always after Elias, he respected her for her honesty and will.
Damn. Elias and Anthony (Scarface) were amazing characters in this series. I was sad when they died. Anthony devoted to his childhood friend/brother, and Elias getting revenge for his death. This show was damn near perfect!
It shows that even though Elias was a bad guy in the eyes of Det. Carter he really did like her and had respect for her. Maybe even made him think that in a different life he could've been a good guy. Simmons took that away from him.
@@darrenheadrick3669 He is like the combo of Penguin , The Riddler , Two Face and Falcone for Johns Batman, though I think Harold has a shade of Riddler
Elias was the best speaker. Every word was calculated and his loyalty was stronger than triple layer steel. He had 3 friends. Each death of one broke a layer. He only had Harold. He was done.
Person of interest is one of my favorite shows. The reveal that the humble school teacher was actually the criminal mastermind Elias was great. The show kind of went off the rails in the last few seasons with the AI war but overall I still love the show.
Dominion left the show and took over the USA elections. It was so successful (in its absolute non violent destruction) that China HAD to buy it. That machine made by high school students That was plagerized from the same machine models that intelligent people have made before. Dominion in this show WAS made by a genius. Harold and his partner got theirs to the government first. The Dominion creator should have released it over the internet just like the Untrained Machine wanted to do. good villains are hard to come by, that's why we appreciate those that we are presented even more, if you can relate, empathize with them it makes the story soo much better
Well, in real life those "good villains" usually end up being separatist or terrorists. (Viewpoint thing...) But yes, we don't see this in movies or series too often.
Enrico is just an awesome actor! Though he was in only 23 episodes he got all the best lines. Especially the scene where he has Simmons taken care of. Chilling.
a good man! he was essentially the original mob (before they lost their way): enforcing the law where the police didn't dare to go, making a business out of it to grow and protect more of the neighborhood and eventually the city. He had a true honor, intellect and strength of character that we could all envy!
One of the reasons I wasn't a fan of the Brotherhood storyline since they tried to make Dominic the next Elias but Dom always seemed like he had just read a profound book of wisdom but never truly understood versus Elias who had a firm grasp on the material and improved upon it.
5:28 When taking Peter's gun, Anthony says " Those look heavy ". Peter is holding a M1911, infamous for being heavy and having a heavy trigger pull. The details in the show is just....
yeah that scene was awesome, i like when he mentions about elias killing his father and they cut right to scarface and the line of him saying "a gift" just an overall great scene along with having elias giving cooking tips
Elias was simply awesome. A man of old school.honpur. An anti-hero of the highest order. Sheer genius. I was so gutted when he died. Anthony too. Child abuse is so fucking obscene.
I always wondered that if Elias was with Harold longer and they became close like brothers how much chaos and anger Harold would have unleased with his knowledge when Elias was killed.
Elias was like James Bond; survived because his enemies made the mistake of not putting a bullet in his head at the first opportunity. You may respect a worthy adversary, all the more reason to kill them when you can.
Was it weird that I cheered for Elias. I mean yes he was antagonist and allegedly bad guy but he was smart compassionate in a way to his people. Respected Reese
Elias is one of the best kind of characters: the ultimate Antihero. I say that because he's not a true villain of the show. If he was, he wouldn't have been seen as the helping hand for John and Harold in some desperate times, providing valuable information and protecting John as well as avenging Carter. Elias may have been a criminal, but he was never the true antagonist of the show.
Carl Elias was evil but he was the lesser evil we deserve. Oh, and did no one realise that " Mini " Dominic played the role of M'Baku in Black Panther.
I shed a tear when Elias died....main reason why I watched..He was a great character.
He's back in space now.
I wish they added him even more
When the viewers are sad at the mafia boss' death, you know he was a well written character.
As did I and when Anthony died.
that actor played that character to perfection, i actually wish they let elias survive to the very end, even if it meant him being a leader of the criminal underworld
One of the best villains ever written and played
The casting in this series is near genius. And the directing.
Elias avenging Carter was poetic!

How appropriate.
Elias was the best speaker. Every word was calculated and his loyalty was stronger than triple layer steel.
He had 3 friends. Each death of one broke a layer. He only had Harold. He was done.
4, but he knew John could handle himself
This character was written very well, and even the dialogue was the best. It makes you watch again, and, again.
Elias a bad guy who you wanted in your corner. A man of honor.

The last few seasons with the AI war were my favorite part.
they did the same thing with Dominic as well and we still didnt see it coming!
The show became one of the best in last seasons

He is like Andrew Robinson who played Garak in Star Trek DS9.
Only in 39 episodes but stole every scene he was in.
you got to love Elias! you never know whether Elias will be a help or hinderance
The quiet menace of both the Elias and Dominic characters is imposing, well executed and acted.
oh he deserve more than one award, POI, Travelers and quite a few other projects !
I wouldn't have complained if we got an Elias spinoff...maybe his origin story or his time before he met Harold and John...
oh that would be cool to see on how he became a criminal mastermind
This is amazing!! My favorite character from my favorite series. Elias is such a fantastic character.
Couldn’t agree more, it always gave me a jolt when he’d appear

@@ethrsag735 exactly, it was like they was trying to force the brotherhood instead of letting them evolve like Elias, Elias was a boss veni vidi vici
King Elias, his reign was short but very memorable and meaningful.
You get a feeling of how feared and powerful Elias is when he stops a big prison beat down with just a whistle
