Our house has a strange bedroom with 3 angled walls and a closet that ends in a sharp point!
For years my wife and I wanted to change out the ugly stained carpet for laminate but I lacked the confidence to do it myself and we didn't have the resources to hire someone.
Your excellent beginner videos, and now this one, gave me the confidence to install a great looking floor!

Wow! Best teacher ever! Thank you Joe! Because of you I’ve laid my first flooring all alone in a cabin in Yosemite. I’m a 60 yo grandma laying beautiful Cali bamboo vinyl longboards. 9 inch wide by 70 inches long. I have watched almost all you videos. Some over and over! I’ve laid a bedroom with closet using no transitions moving into the hallway past a bathroom, the bottom of the staircase and a laundry room all looking great. It was hard-work! Doing my first rental renovating ripping out all carpet replacing with 12mm laminate I've literally studied your channel ! I use a foot wide contour gauge for certain jams & corners like that.. huge time saver!
Thanks for all the Instruction on installing these type of flooring. I'm doing my first install at home 750 sq. feet of vinyl plank. I'm about half way done. I hope my knees and legs hold out.

I am seriously in awe!!!! I can't believe how much I struggle and how easy you make it look. Templates are definitely the way but I never understood how to mark out the template; now I do. OMG, thank you so much!!!!
You the man. Literally from each if your different videos I have been able to replace my carpet with lvp in my entire house and it looks great. My friends ask who I paid to install it that it looks so great. For reference I have never done a floor install and did it all myself from the instructions and tips you have provided on u tube. OMG😯 Wow that was amazing! My first room was fortunately straight and I used a self-adjusting pattern gage for the door jams. My second room is off in a crazy angle with the door way is angled and the little wall next to the door opened up in a slant. Rest of the room is straight and the closet is a rectangle. I plan on starting straight from the back wall and stop short where things become angled and use a cardboard to make a big patterned cut my boards.
The hallway has the old laminate laid by the builder so I can use their example as well. Thank you.

Your tips are going to make my installation A LOT EASIER with using cardboard templates. I’m currently installing laminate floors to all of my upstairs bedrooms (4). Have done 1 bedroom so far but with these tips It’s going to go quicker. Have also stairs to do but kind of scared to tackle it since this is my 1st time doing this. Thank you SOOOO MUCH!!!! I just did a simple peel and stick vinyl floor on my tiny entry way and the odd angles had me perplexed.
Inspired by your template process all i did was lay down copy paper in the negative space scoring some of the edges with just my thumb nail and cutting and layering the paper pages (& taping them together) to create a perfect pattern to trace and cut.
This was the first time I've ever done a project like this and your method saved me so much time, aggrivation and money!

My 18yr old son and I just replaced a bedroom carpet with vinyl plank and it looks great, couldn’t have done it nearly as well without your guidance.
