My first pull bar was in the fire in Santa Rosa in 2017. I found it in the remains. Havnt done flooring in 5 years. So on this flooring job. I brought a new one. And it’s just to thick. So I got my burnt rusted bar. Sanded it clean it. And it work like a charm.

Joe, huge help. I wish I would have watched this video about screwing some scraps down before I taped 25 spacers around the walls, and now I have a gap at the second door jamb because I couldn’t figure out to cut the lip and glue it there, and my final row of planks that come right to my front door is about a 1 inch strip. Man I feel like I blew my first plank job. Thanks for sticking your faith into your videos and dedicating so much of your time to helping others with these videos!!!

I've been installing hybrid 5g flooring planks over concrete (with a 5mm rubber mat on top). I found it best to put my body weight on the already installed planks when I'm putting in a new row. With the 5g system you slip the long side on first at a 20 degree angle and work on closing any gaps along the board gently by hand. After that the end piece closes nicely with a 'click' on the previous board. No tools required.

Thank you Joe. Your videos have made a huge difference on my first time installation with vinyl plank. Getting rid of the cheap plastic spacers and screwing holding blocks to the floor instead, cheater boards, and flipping the boards backwards to measure next cuts made a huge difference in saving time and having professional results. Well done good and faithful servant.

YOUR VIDEO HAS BEEN A GOD SEND. DOING LVP FOR MY ELDER NEIGHBORS. SEALING AT THE BEGINNING ROW. SCREW DOWN THE FIRST TWO ROWS. THE SEAMS ARE SO TIGHT. AND USING A PIECE OF THE PLANK WITH THE BACK SIDE TO TAP IN. THE TAPPING BLOCK DID MORE DAMAGE THEN GOOD. VERY SMART MOVE. MADE THE JOB MUCH EASIER AND FASTER. YOU ARE A BLESSING. THANK YOU SO MUCH. MAY GOD KEEP BLESSING YOU. CAUSE YOUR BLESSING. ARE A BLESSING FOR ME AND OTHERS.

I'm starting to lay laminate in my daughter's living room and continuing into the kitchen. The starting row has a couple of challenges. First is the starting end is a staircase that is at a 30 degree angle to the wall. The second is a long metal baseboard heating vent that takes up most of the starting wall. It has enough flex to keep the planks from staying together. Screwing down the holding blocks should give me the solid base to start with. I wish I had seen this video before starting and wasting 2 days of frustration.

So, I'm doing my first LVP install as a homeowner. Couple things I didn't do, (even after watching your videos). I didn't screw it down to prevent movement. I found that the floor did move slightly and had to readjust the whole thing.
I didn't open all of the boxes. I bought a great deal on clearance flooring and many planks had cracked corners and grooves. Instead of two rooms, now I'll have enough for one. Some deal huh?
You sure know what you're doing and you're good enough to share it! My advice to others is to follow your instructions to the letter! Thank you!

Sometimes planks won’t go together becuase there is debris leftover underneath tongue of existing nailed down plank. Use vacuum to suck up any drywall or subfloor chips from under tongue of existing plank. Sometimes it is because there is slight misalignment between adjacent nailed down planks which will cause a small gap. There can also be some subfloor sagging or hogging in an area that can cause planks not to lock together perfectly. So multiple reasons.

Just wished you hv a job where you started off in far left hand corner, that’s what I’m gonna do, cause I hv 3 doors to go under and Nyla I are won’t bend easily (it’s solid wood, I tried to score a piece pop on my knee , no go, 6 scores still woukd’nt pop had to cut with saw.), starting at entrance door all way back to back door wall 28’. But going to shoot a few screws into cement in back side of board to hold my hallway is 66” so 33” is half and center board only falls 1/8” off center. And then popping line in living room keep shit straight coming 33” down to back wall them popping another line at 55” once in living room which is square, once half way popping another line 3/4 way across
Hope this is correct way but my laminate don’t snap together as easily as yours, I’m gonna have to find my nitch on how to get it to lock then it’s off to the races

The more videos I watch the more frightened I become about diy. I don’t have a ton of $ and basically i need to use Home Depot for supplies and vinyl plank flooring. I have 3 pugs and they do run around. Keeping their nails short enough isn’t a perfect option. Can a 12mil wear layer suffice? Can Home Decorators vinyl plank flooring do? I’m going over natural wood. Sanding not happening. Want to preserve old floor for next home owner. Thank you.

I have a new room in the basement, do I put the planks under the drywall? How do I keep it from moving on concrete floor? Love the way you teach.

You do not need to do that just end it at or before if it is off the floor. Then the trim will cover it. Have you seen this video? Watch at the 23 minute mark - ruclips.net/video/6eZHHSzI7Qo/видео.html

Bless you my brother in Jesus Christ!! I came into a situation where a room already was 1/2 finished with laminate flooring. I thought 'oh, tongue in groove will be easy, right?' On the 2nd row problems started so I washed up and came to youtube for an inservice where Our Lord led me to you. I'm going to watch all your videos in the next few days while waiting for my tapping block and pull bar to be delivered. Thank you so much!! God Bless you and your family...

Well. I was exceptionally lucky putting in my Bamboo plank flooring upstairs except for one BIG mistake I made in the hallway and the rooms that attach to the hall. It was a floating floor amd I followed the manufactures instructions and left the gap all around the walls in rooms and hallway.... you know what happened..... yup.... the floor in hall shifted and possibly in a couple of rooms across from each other. I’m in California and probably should have left no gaps on the walls. Well now I have to remove the molding in the connecting rooms and hall and get all the stuff out of the rooms so I can fix the shifty floor. Looked great until it floated and shifted.
