Do you need to put something around the stairs like quarter round ? Or the carpet hides it ?
Did you undercut the stairs? Or just use the carpet to hide the endo

Doesn’t mention or even account for expansion, by forcing it in like that, your probably don’t have your 1/4 inch gap, floors will buckle with change of seasons
