My husband couldnt do our floor so i youtubed the tongue and groove hardwood floor and installed 500sq ft. Im not a professional but i did a great job. Oh and your body does take a beating. I was 58 at that time. A year later i will be doing my kitchen floor, thank goodness im doing a floor like what you installed. So thank you for the demonstration.
The "use a scrap piece to keep the seams in place" is a tip I could have used a few weeks ago while flooring my sister's appartment. Will sure be using that one next time. Got a tip for you too. As you stated, if you hit the black block too hard, you will damage the plank. To prevent that, I used a scrap piece, placed it just like you do on the seams, and use the black block on that scrap piece. Occasional damage will only be done to the scrap piece that way. Your floor looks great. Your level of perfection makes your projects turn out beautiful.
Cicadas are attracted to the buzzing sound (maybe vibrations) lots of power tools make. It can surprise you but they're harmless, and if you can steady your nerves to just ignore them that's the thing to do. Good job on your flooring and thanks for posting.
this was really helpful tiffany. Our apartment building had a renovation some people got half new floors others had full. i was suppose to get a full but the renovators never did it so i have one side new one side old. however, since im renting i cant really alter the floor, but i can cover it with a rug, so i found these puzzle piece rug mats that are easy to work with and the info on how to line up the floor planks was helpful and i'll be doing that with the rest of the puzzle rug pieces once they come in. because at first there was going to be a gap with the original floor showing 3 inches from the wall, but now i can full cover after seeing this video and have an idea on how to measure and cut the pieces for the edges. thank you for this video tiffany!
Im 69 yrs old and a woman, just put these flooring board's in my home this year, and did the work myself, wasn't easy but mine turned out beautifully 😊❤❤❤
lol your wife is adorable. Great job! I’m getting ready to begin my floors and you explained a few things I had questions about. Wise move painting your walls before starting the floors.
I am angry right now. Haven't even finished the video yet. Do you know how many effing staples I pried out with a putty knife and stupid things when I OWN an oscillating tool? OMG. LOLOL

The bug was a cicada. It might have been attracted to the sound of the saw. Cicadas are pretty loud.

That bug is a cicada. They are really big and scary but harmless to humans.

this flooring is garbage be prepared to replace it in a couple of years
Yeah. You are incredibly unsafe with that table saw. That is teaching people bad habits with a very dangerous tool.
