Although I have seen many tours of Gatlinburg I must admit that yours was much more in depth. You showed us things others have not. Well done Timothy.

Gatlinburg is a quaint mountain town that borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that has been overdeveloped and expanded way beyond its former laid-back self. The town still offers many scenic views and attractions. However, it is also a tourist-driven oasis that has become an overbearing place that is too overcrowded, too expensive, and too overrated! How can one truly enjoy theirself completely surrounded by endless traffic congestion, long lines to get into everything, overcrowded sidewalks and venues, and the rude people who visit the area from rude places. It's so sad what greed has been allowed to do to this once very kind and treasured place. Smh! Timothy, thank you for this thorough walk/talk tour of Gatlinburg town center, aka "small Times Square."
It’s definitely gone too far. The town fills like an amusement park in some ways. I miss the old Gatlinburg.

Perhaps I could have done Gatlinburg in my youth, but although it looks like a sweet spot to spend some time, it's just too expansive for my taste at my age. Appreciate the tour Timothy, and the reason (Debbie) why you were reporting from Tennessee. PS, the rain finally stopped in the Southport/Oak Island area today, the sun finally came out, and we dodged another one except for some water damage. I'll be interested to see where you go from there..
Glad to hear things cleared out so I can return home. And I’m with you on the pricing. Hopefully more people will refuse to pay forcing prices back down to a level everyone can afford. There are to many people going into debt just for a day of fun, and that’s a shame.
I was in Gatlinburg TN in January this year a day after a snowstorm and it was pretty active then so I can imagine how crowded it gets during the summer.
It can definitely get wall to wall sometimes that’s for sure.👍

I really enjoyed looking at the town I live in. Been here since 2009. Seen alot of changes. I remember how the fans blew the wonderful smell of fudge onto the streets all up and down the Parkway. The bear you wanted the name to is "Beaureguard". Hope you enjoy your stay here. 😉

I would enjoy spending a few hours walking around Gatlinburg but I don't see any attractions I would want to spend money on.
And they are not cheap these days.
