I grew up fishing in northern MN, Hackensack - Walker area. Every summer from age 10 to 20, I would travel up there from the Chicago area with family. Then, life took me in other directions. Its now over 60 years later. I like watching your channel because it brings back so many memories. I've seen so many lakes, like the ones you fish. I will never forget the early morning fog, a slight breeze that develops around 9 am, the smell of pines in the breeze and then the bright sun. Thank you for taking me back.

The smooth voice, the care for the fish and nature, no sponsors, just a man and his fishing pole 🤌🏽. Absolutely love this channel . I just started fishing myself, so i can definitely appreciate his naming of every thing he uses with non biased opinions.

This is why I watch him. I would much rather watch this soothing, calm, straight forward approach to his vids. I read on another vid someone called him him "The Bob Ross of Fishing" and I couldn't agree more.

Matt, great content as usual. So glad you are honest with us about fishing 4-5 hours with not much to show for your time but then you switched to the frog and made some magic. Lots of fisherman online just show the highlight reel and it makes it seem like they are always catching fish but you reveal the reality that it takes work to put together great content like this video.

. Matt, that lake reminds me a bunch of Beauty Lake in Todd County, Minnesota. My mom's brother had a cabin on it when i was growing up. The shoreline was choked up with Lillypads and wild rice. Back in the 1970s, that lake held huge bass and pike. bluegills too!

Same, it's nice to see and honest fishing show. I once met someone who worked on some of the older fishing shows and a lot of those guys would spend a week on a lake and place all that footage to make it seem like one day!

During the summer months I pretty much always fish topwater, sometimes I'll switch to a jig or worm if I go a couple hours without any action but usually I can find something willing to bite. The footage is just so much more exciting with some good topwater strikes!

All I want in my life time is a lake full of Lili pads to fish. There is something cool about that kind of lake. So cool

First time commenter, but been loving these videos for a long time now. Awesome content, as always, and as much as I LOVE me some topwater frog bites, I might have to pick up some of those Marackers. Awesome work, mate... lookin' forward to the next one...!
