      Amen, Brother! I was just telling our friend here about being on a Weather site that had, like, 11 minutes worth of actual video content...and another 10-11 minutes (At least!!!!!), of worthless commercials that I personally have no use for, nor am I interested in! You and I are DEFINITELY on the same page, when it comes to commercialization!

Sadly Michigan's lakes [and quality rivers], are replete with cottages, homes and the associated PWC, jet skis, speed and ski boats, that have [as a rule], brought the fishing seen on your channel to a halt. I really like your channel, outstanding footage but I’ve got a question. I’m a trout and salmon guy and to us it’s an absolute sin to fish spawning beds. I’m guessing not so with smallies? Does it not bother these fish being disturbed while the spawn is on?

    • @ndyakangler
      @ndyakangler  5 лет назад +3

      It all depends, people really need to assess the situation before pulling them off beds. On this river there’s very few panfish and none in the area where the bass spawn so as long as they’re released quickly they go right back to the bed and no harm is done. Most lakes will be crawling with panfish in the spawn areas though and they’ll be quick to jump on an unguarded bed so in that case it’s best to leave the bass alone.

    30 minutes of NDYakAngler? Hell yea! Just got a kayak this spring and have taken it out 9 times. Boy does it change the game on the locations and total area you can fish! It's a 10ft Ascend. Little small but its a sit on top and is very wide. Has ample space for tackle and I just attached 6 rod holders to my milk crate. Perfect for my needs. Fits in my car, all I have to do is bungee tailgate. Only thing I need for it now is a kayak wheel trailer, a better seat, and a fish finder! Killer video!

      I've put out a few from the yak so far this year. It won't stop raining in the Mid-Atlantic so the GoPro has been put away a lot. I had a really fun day in my yak on a reservoir an hour north of me 2 weeks ago but the fish catches were spread out over a large time so I didn't have the GoPro recording. I'll be getting the hero 5 shortly so I will be able to replace battery packs and film an entire day of fishing. Also just started a part time job at bass pro shops as fishing sales associate. Iv'e been buying new gear left and right! I leave for my annual upstate NY trip in a few weeks and will be fishing out of my yak and new GoPro, so it will be an awesome series of videos considering all I do up there is throw topwater. I know ua don't get many strikes on top eaters with smallies but when ya do its epic. I usually cast a little juicy jig behind it on the short strikers. But after this vid I may try the ol nico wacky rigged. Fish on and keep doing shat ya love.👌👍😊

    Nice video! Couple tips - those loaners on beds are males (you keep saying "She"). Also, dip your ruler in water first before measuring, as bass have a slime on their bodies that's part of their immune system and easily gets rubbed off.
    Smallies will hit a cigarette butt and a hook if it's in their bed. The type of rig is less important as long as it's compact & stays on the bed. They WILL bite every single time. They're much easier to catch on beds than largies are. Sometimes you do have to back-office a bit on a finicky one, but they WILL all bite. They're not like largemouth.

    Great video, my man! I'll make 2 points as to why I love your videos. 1:Quality. You spend a lot of time catching fish, and being helpful in your explanations as to what you're using, and how to use it. 2: Quantity. You catch quite a few big fish, annnd-here's a plus-while you have a few commercials in your content, they don't run for a long time. The reason that I'm bringing this up is because of trying to watch a Weather video on another person's site. His video had so much commercialization, that it almost added up to the time period of his video content! I couldn't believe it! I'm not saying that it's his fault, but to have to put up with, I believe, 10-11 minutes worth of commercials to get something like 11 minutes worth of video just ain't worth it to me! Just as sure as Looney Tunes character Yosemite Sam used to say:"I hates Rabbits", I'm kind of like him, in the sense of:*I hates long commercials"!!! Short videos of 30 seconds or less is one thing. When you have to put up with 1-5 minute long commercials every 2-3 minutes...and the actual video is only 11 minutes long? Forget it!!! (Needless to say, I unsubscribed from his channel)!!! Anyway:Again- great video, and have fun again this year, a'pullin' in them bronze piggies!

      So far I’ve only used that Neko rig for fishing them off beds. I caught probably 100 fish on it, I’d say 90 of them were hooked right in the upper lip. Only one was anywhere close to swallowing it. Bed fishing they mostly just pick it up to get it off their bed instead of actually trying to eat it. Even fishing the wacky worm though I can only remember one in the last few years that partly swallowed the hook and I was able to go through the gills with my players and didn’t do much damage to the fish. I’m usually pretty quick with setting the hook too so I don’t give them much of a chance to swallow it.
