@TexasBassassinator its on the way my friend I'm nose deep in oak pollen everywhere here down in Florida spring is here and their busting the surface your next my friend!! Good luck out there!!
@@robbubba8020 What's the best baits to throw in Florida right now? I'm in central Florida and the most I've been able to pull off this spring has been a 4 pounder on a wacky rig. What areas of a lake should I target too right now?
@Connor-zb4uo if the bass are bedding where you are that wacky worm is a good choice... I'm no pro but I always start out with a smaller profile bait in the spring time I feel the bait hasn't grown very much yet so something in the 3 inch range is good in soft plastics or a Zara Spook Jr or a small crank bait then as we get into summer I'll start using bigger lures I like that Spook Jr in the baby bass color they really seem to like it I hope this info helps you good luck out there!

Sometimes it’s not about the fish you catch but the experience. This lake is beautiful. Zero traffic noise, zero other anglers. It’s almost like you had it all to yourself your own personal paradise. After looking at those fish, it makes you want to go out on that lake and spread out a couple of thousand shad to beef them up a bit.
Dude if your out there I’m cool with you idk why everyone has to be a purist about everything when it comes to fishing and hunting. Also don’t support high fence hunting but that’s diffrent
I love having a fish finder/sonar on my kayak. Mine is a basic old style unit. However, I understand what you are saying. The main thing is to get out and try. Sometimes you catch and sometimes you fish but you were out and enjoying the blessings you have!

Froggy and foggy morning. The perfect 20 minutes video to start my Sunday morning before 9am church service. What a beautiful place you found there! Those are some hungry swimmers in there and MAN that looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for bringing us along Matt...great video!
It is a really pretty lake and there’s several others in that area I’d like to explore this summer! A couple of them are quite a bit deeper and it seems like those lakes with a little more depth are better at keeping big bass alive through our harsh winters.

Aloha, nice to catch up on some of your vids. Great stress relief! Those first few looked hungry for sure. Must not be much food in there. Maybe I'm just use to the big fat river ones! Mahalo! Stay safe!
Im loving how green everything is out their!! Im in western ny and its been nice out but today its snowing again. Cant wait to put the kayaks in for some largemouths, im still chasing big pike from shore😊
Great video Matt and great catches! Although the bass very quite small they were aggressive and worth catching.Have a great weekend and take care dude! See you next adventure!
That spot at 7:25 reminds me of a lake that I fish pretty often up here in the pnw. What I've noticed about heavily matted lilypads like that is that the fish are right under the pads feeding. If you hear popping noises from under the lilypads, they're eating and chasing little bluegills n such around. I usually paddle right into the thickness of it and work a frog across the top or pitch a lighter texas rig right into little openings. Seems to work pretty well.
I always try to hit the inside and outside edges of pads they seem to hang on those edges or follow that frog to the edge. If they are really biting you can throw in the middle and they'll come up and blast them to! Super fun.
I love you walk up and say it looks fishy here. I was already thinking that. Id be fishing the channel immediately. Looks great b thanks for sharing this with us.
I got a brooklyn fishing yak because of your videos and have had many awesome adventures ever since! Learn a lot of things from your videos! Keep it up! And if your ever around the indiana lakes/rivers try chain o lakes! I fish there pretty often!
Good day in my book, top water froggin is always good times and great action! I'd go back before and or after the spawn, and see if it gets any better weight/size wise.
Terrific video! I kayak fish 5 or 6 days a week during the season here in Ontario, Canada 🍁 . Trout, walleye, pike and bass. Just last fall I started playing around with frogs, this video gives me motivation to learn the technique better and get the most out of top water bass fishing.
It’s a fun way to catch some fish! One thing I usually do is bend the hooks out a bit, it helps with my hookup ratio. I don’t think I had to do it with the Northland frogs but most brands I’ll bend them. I just like there to be a little bit of gap, 1-2mm, between the hook point and the frog body.
This reminds me of a lake in up state New York I went to as a kid. The largest bass I caught of the trip was the 1st one I landed on a spinner bait. As soon as we got out of the slew of the lake it was top water action for smallies!
Frogs aren't always the most productive means of catching bass, but it's certainly among the most fun. I prefer drop shotting a live-bait rig. That's my personal fav. But pitching frogs near or over weeds and pads is always a hoot. I've only caught a handful of 20"+ bass (maybe 6 largies and 2 smallies that size), and at least three of those were on frogs. Great vid, glad you saw so many fish.
Great video! Those hidden lakes on nice calm days are fun to fish in. I think you found out why no one else was fishing there. 😂 .. Still looked like a lot of fun.
I think theres just too many fish and not enough food in that lake. I caught about twice as many fish as I put in the video but left out a lot of 14”ers for the 15”ers lol.
Top water... the fisherman's drug of choice! What a morning Matt thank you for sharing it with us
I have thrown a frog and Whopper Plopper for a few days recently hoping for that explosion. I have been sadly unfulfilled.

Indeed, Id breed some crayfish and shad. Let them get up to 10,000. 10,000 shad, 10,000 crayfish, then drop them in the lake.
@dacrosberSmaller bass are good eatin
