Frosty the scum frog, was a jolly, slimy bait,
With his Walmart lure and his big bass dreams, he just couldn't wait.
He hopped into the water, with a splash and a swish,
And the bass all gathered 'round him, to fulfill their fishing wish.
Frosty the scum frog, was a lure for me and you,
He'd catch those big ol' bass, in the waters clear and blue.
Kayak fishing with him, was always such a blast,

In the early morning hours, out on the calm lake,
Frosty the scum frog leaped and dived, for big bass' sake.
With his hooks all ready, and his colors bright and bold,
He lured those hungry bass in, from the depths so cold.
Frosty the scum frog, was a lure for me and you,
He'd catch those big ol' bass, in the waters clear and blue.
Kayak fishing with him, was always such a blast,
Oh, Frosty the scum frog, he sure could fish at last!
Now the other anglers marveled, at the bass he'd bring ashore,
They'd ask where he got Frosty, and they'd rush to get some more.
For the scum frog was a legend, in the fishing world so fine,
And he'll keep on catching bass, time after time.

Hahahahaha, Santa got beat up , a pike would have ripped him clean in half. So good. Having a blast right now in the parking lot at work at Amazon getting ready to get those last minute gifts to all those kids for Christmas . I’m a real life elf . I caught my PB in the yak yesterday! Definitely a huge inspiration for kayak bass fishing! Btw do you have trout streams in the midwest? It would be really cool to see a fly fishing video or a float trip down a river for trout in the yak.
Not many unless theyre stocked or runoff into the great lakes.
There are a lot of trout streams in SE Minnesota but most of them aren’t really big enough for kayak fishing.

The scum frogs always gave me some of the best hookups when I fished bass. They’re body is softer than most but they get tore up easy. The scum dog walker fishes extremely easy for beginners.
The best frog out there. Yes it gets water logged a bit but a cast past a weed bed, then retrieving to the pad, quickly over to rest on the near side, is deadly.
My only gripe is the legs get pulled off. The action was great though!
I used a one legged scum frog for a month. Tacklewarehouse has them

These Scummies ROCK! I love these crazy lures, I remember the "Chewbacca" lure,,,,Lol! I bought one of those open loop scissor clamps for fly fishing, Umpqua I believe, very versatile.

Blitz frigs sell replacement legs that fit the scum frogs great. A bit if glue to handle a giod tug and not come out easily

Are you serious! Too much fun. NEVER expected topwater in ND Christmas week!!! Unbelievable. Didn't you just do some ice-fishing a week or so ago? (FYI - Just ordered Santa and a Gingerbread man from AMAZON. both have "skirt" style legs.) ...I was surprised when I saw some surface panfish action last week here in NC, but I tried a brown/gold crickhopper and caught a couple bluegill and a crappie. I was excited since the pond I was fishing had a massive fish die off this summer and fishing has been dead! I've had many 'skunk" days in a row. This used to be very rare for me. Once every 6 months or so, so to have 6 or 7 days in a row with zero fish (of any species) has been depressing and difficult to deal with. Thanks for sharing this fun video. Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Matt, is there a chance you could teach in a video how to map out a lake and understand what spots to fish. Just whenever you might end up on a new lake show us some of the process of mapping the lake and then deciding what places are best to fish. I am new to fishing and it would be much appreciated. Looks like they aren’t very durable considering he broke one in like 4 fish
Scum Frogs are old school and still one of the best hollow baits ever made. So many frog body styles made today replicate the old Scum Frog.

I highly recommend the ribbit "top toad" for anyone who likes fishing these buzz style frogs. They are absolute fish catching machines and are pretty light on the wallet

Those Stanley Ribbit top toads are definitely fish catchers. Savage Gear makes one called the Duratech toad that is awesome too. It’s made out of an elaztech type material so it’s super durable. They also float so you can pause it when you get to a spot where you know a bass should be. I’ve caught more 5 and 6 pound largemouth on that Savage Gear toad than I have on any other lure!

LOL. For winter I see a lot of green trees and some the bird in the green cattails is an Oriole that migrates up north in the spring.
