Hitting this lake at first light is like a dream. Loading my kayak up there in the woods where I can't see the lake yet but I hear the swans and loons calling and then carting down the path to reveal smooth as glass water that looks like the clouds fell from the sky and are sitting on the surface. By far my favorite place to spend a morning!
I’d have to say your videos are as close to an actual meditation that’s involved in my weekly routine. Keep up the fantastic, enjoyable, and extremely relaxing videos.
Hey Matt! Glad you liked the mini 2-piece PB Rat! Those were some healthy looking largies and beautiful scenery as always. I have 6 of these. All different sizes and caught my PB on a 2-piece I helped hand pour with the owner of PB Rat who is a close friend of mine and a bad ass fisherman here in San Diego. All of these baits are custom made, hand poured, and tested. They are not cheap, but I have never lost one because I only throw it on braid. They are very durable and it is called PB Rat for a reason, if your PB is in the body of water you are fishing, this lure could catch it and you get to see it happen.
Words cannot express how much I love your videos Matt. I've been having a rough time with life and your content takes me away from this harsh realm. I look forward to your vids every week. Please keep them coming. Thanks for taking us along with you. You are the best.
The only bad thing about your videos is that they come to an end . Thanks again for a beautiful day on the water ... great video again ,have a great fall season . Looking forward to it . I am disabled and can no longer do those things that brought me joy as a young man . At 66 yrs young , I can still experience the joy people like you bring . GOD bless and keep you , my favorite Fisherman /Kayaker !
I love your videos. I can almost smell the morning cold fresh air, the feel of the dew on my face, and the sounds of the water and the loon in the background is mesmerizing. Keep 'em coming!
I feel like a collab between you and Marling Baits would be insane. He makes custom baits, and has a similar demeanor. I'd love to see you guys work together on a bait and test it
I grew up reading outdoor life and field and stream and the covers always showed these idyllic lakes and ponds, and it always looked just like where you pushed off at the beginning. Magnificent. I’m envious.
I don't think there is any bite cooler than top water. It's so exciting when all of a sudden fish just blast your lure on the surface. Nice fish, and as always, awesome video!
I have a trick fishing topwater where I get myself genuinely distracted by some noise behind me or a bird flying by while the lure is in a nice spot to get hit. As soon as your attention is off the blowup the bass sense your potential disappointment and almost always slam the lure while you aren’t looking. Give it a shot next time
Your the Bob Ross of fishing. I’ve followed for a while and wanted to say thank you for the great content! So relaxing and down to earth. Your not trying to be dramatic for camera. Your just fishing and bringing us along!
Thanks, Matt, for another exciting day of top water fishing on an absolutely beautiful lake! That PB Rat produce some really nice largemouth, I really like the slow retrieve action on that lure. I can't wait to see you fish it again! Take care and be safe, anxiously awaiting your next video!
Great video, Matt. (Per usual)Thanks for showing us that PB Rat. I had been wanting to see one in action and your vid helped a bunch. 2 on order as I write this post👊🏻
There's just something to be said about seeing your infamous logo appear on my subscribed list. Watching you pull those soon-to-be lunkers out with that sweet rat sure did make my morning just a bit better. Thank you, Matt.
Such a great way to start a weekend morning!! Thanks for taking us along with you and showing us the peace and serenity paddling on calm water and catching some fish. Thanks.
Outstanding!! TY Sir. We have been getting smashed with rain here in middle lower peninsula of Michigan. Haven't been able to any river since mid June.
I anticipated one of my favourite videos from NDYakAngler in that gorgeous lake and I wasn’t disappointed. Seven bass, five of them really nice, make a most satisfactory fishing day especially if trying a new lure. A pleasant drive back home remembering it. The action of that rat is simply superb but 120 dollars…that’s too much for me. A little crazy to spend that much on a lure. Hopefully the bib and the tail of the rat will hold on for pretty long. In any case it is a topwater lure and you’re fishing on a kayak. Little risk of losing it on a snag other than an overhanging tree. Double the price of some of the most renowned Japanese swimbaits but…there seems to be many that would gladly pay that money.
I've recently become a huge fan of your channel and you inspired me to buy a quality baitcaster and rod. I live in Massachusetts on cape cod so the freshwater fishing is nothing in comparison to yours. There's plenty of ponds and lakes but only smallmouth, largemouth and pickerel. I mostly fish saltwater for striped bass and occasionally tuna but it's a short season. Thanks for the videos and keep em coming
He definitely catches them, but gotta factor in that he fishes a state with literally no people, these fish aren't seeing the pressure that many other areas are.
@@samsongausch5814 Yeah, and he doesn't even worry about leaving his kayak unlocked in the back of his truck. It would be gone in 60 seconds anywhere else.

Awesome catches. For someone who fishes a lot and has the locations, I'd say once in a while it's ok to buy an expensive lure if tied properly. Gotta live a little. Thx again for bringing us to see it in action. Hopefully this fall will be good fishing.👍🎣🌳👌
I love your videos! I’m going to Minnesota this upcoming summer for the boundary waters, and I’m so excited after watching all of your videos of you catching smallmouth and pike!
The action on that lure sure is great. Nice time on the water Matt. I’m hoping to be putting in more time on the water hopefully by December.. a lot of life things going on.
Honestly, I'd rather pay more to support a small business who's offering a high quality product than give my hard earned $$$ to these big corporations with deep pockets like Berkley who regularly steal these artisans designs and mass produce these "rip-off" lures without even giving the small business owners an opportunity to do a collaboration.
