I haven't been able to go fishing this summer as much as I usually do so I really appreciate you taking me out when I'm unable to myself. You truly do a good thing for people on this channel. Keep up the good work! I'm excited to see what's next!
The lakes are amazing up there with no boats no people not many homes and so peaceful. I live in the Chicago land area and believe it or not the fishing is excellent and loaded with amazing river systems, minus the peace and quit, you just have to put in the time and you will find the fish. Thanks again for the great video.
It must be nice to live where there is so much quality fishing and so few out there doing it. Part of what makes these videos so relaxing is the lack of company. No better afternoon than to be on a calm nice looking body of water with a bunch of mouths to feed!
I hit two different lakes in a kayak today. Got totally skunked on one, but hit a slumpbuster on the other so it all worked out. Glad to see you're catching some nice fish!
Another terrific video with a great new lure. Glad that it held up well. Big or small, the fish 🎣 were beautiful! Great job sir! I would love to meet you someday and buy you breakfast since we live in the same state. I can’t wait for new videos to come out. You are the greatest and should have a T.V.show,but that might take some of the fun out of it and you also need family time. Thanks for taking me along.
Excellent title! Like many I'm sure, I watch your relaxed videos for their calming effect, as well as the fantastic clips. NDYakAngler is top 3 out of my 120 or so channel subs. THANK YOU!
Yet another wonderful, calming video from the Bob Ross of Fishing. 😎 Always love how you talk to the fish. (I do the same thing and, just like you, it doesn't always work... but it helps. LOL)
I am continuously amazed by the fact that you have access to so many bodies of water where you appear to be the only angler. Thanks again for sharing your awesome footage!
I don't mind other anglers at all if they are being quiet and respectful. I would like to be able to fish a place not ringed with houses though. Even the lakes tucked away in the state forrests have houses on part of them in my neck of the woods. It is a rare treat to enjoy nature and only nature.
The Ole reliable bird lure great video real nice smallies you make fishing look fun bit I know its work learning a lot from you and your technique thanks!
I threw my bird only once. It was so loose and rattled bad - very noisy. That coupled with the Shimano Metanium DC I was using was a bit too much. The bait felt kinda clumsy and I got line wrap quite a bit. I should probably try it again after watching this. Chuck rock, rip rap, etc. - always a good spot to start on a new body of water. Thanks for making my morning a little better 👌
Best fishing channel on RUclips. Hands down. I learn more AND relax and truly enjoy more from watching you just fish than any other channel. So many channels get caught up in the jargon and the "I'm the host of this channel" mentality they forget that one of the best ways to teach is to simply SHOW. But they aren't about teaching as much as advertising themselves and their sponsors so there's that. You just fish, and forget that you left the camera rolling every time it feels like
That bird lure was just what I needed. I have the savage black duck with flappy loose feet. Can’t really remember why I bought it…now I have the confidence to go get skunked again with it. 😂
Superb Matt what a lovely fish they fight like demons for their size looked a massive lake fantastic video of fishing tomorrow for zander with my pal on dead’s in a new spot on the canal a fair drive but been having some nice fish thanks again pal looking forward to the next one 🎣👍🏼
That is amazing, you can go to a new lake with this wacky bait and catch a ton of fish! Everyone always compliments your calm, therapeutic delivery but man, I'm super impressed with the technical knowledge you possess!
Very cool video and again amazed by the lure choice. Title is very cheeky too. I have to agree with some others and yesterday on the creek proved that to get a smallmouth to come back twice at a bait is rare, 3 times a gift. Lake looked absolutely serene. Blessings Matt
HEYYYYYYYYYY BASSMANGGG! ! ! ! ! ! 👋🤓 good to see you tryin out some untested waters, well.... untested by you i meant lol.. 14:55 bass have got to be one of the most gluttonous creatures on this beautiful blueberry... he swings an misses 3 times, sees a huge paddle swish the water near a mysterious new shadow, after his second miss.. an still comes an tries to get/an got that lure the fourth time.. they are either gluttonous or STAAA-HOOO-PAAA-HIDDDD, lmaooo 🤣 great stuff Matt .. see ya next time 👋😎 p.s happy long weekend, if you americans get a long weekend this weekend if not.. toooo bad lol buh bye
Great fishing I've had some crazy salt water fishing action at night for striped bass..had times where every cast a 36" or better fish hit my lure and any lure in the tackle box would do..never had any fresh water trips like you usually do
Yepper I was going to say that lol. Same principle as the Heddon Crazy Crawler. Caught my 1st Largemouth over 5lbs. on one year's ago. Later they changed the metal and it seemed thinner and would bend easily like Matt had go on there. Great color on the bird lure too! Had a Mann's Baby One Minus that color that the 1st evening out with it I caught 25 Largemouth. Two over 5lbs. Also twice caught a fish on each hook! Best night fishing Largemouth I've ever had. And I have had a few lol sorry just saying. It was great growing up in Southeastern Ohio with all the farm ponds and I grew up between two Limestone Quarries that had beautiful deep ponds stocked in the 60s
When most people think smallies they think deep offshore with a dropshot or ned rig. This guy's catching them in shallow weeds on a purple topwater bird and slaying them...that's why I love your channel man 👊👍
Topwaters make fishing so much more exciting. I make glidebaits, jerkbaits and topwaters as a side hobby. I may have sent ya one in the mail as a thank you for the awesome vids sir! Hope ya don’t mind!
I haven't seen anybody use birdlure here in Finland. Poppers are sometimes used when trying to catch Perch and Pike topwater-style. There's no Bass and Muskie in Finnish lakes.
I used to walleye fish at night in my kayak. One night I spooked a flock of coots and they came right at me, I got hit right in the face by a freaked out coot and it landed on my kayak and got tangled in my lines. Not the most fun experience in the middle of the night trolling cranks for 'eyes.
so it would be an added "cost" to the maker of that lure to add some kind of stiffening support to those wings, which is why they didn't bother... but it shouldn't have any adverse effect on the action if you were to maybe use crazy glue or an epoxy to glue something on that backside of the wings to make them more ridged and less likely to bend... something stiff and lightweight... maybe even 1 or 2 toothpicks?... and use the crazy glue / baking soda trick (you can find that on RUclips)
I've been watching your channel for about a year now. I've seen you use rat lures and bird lures to catch fish, as well as of course other types of topwaters, but never ye old Jitterbug. Since the Jitterbug has very similar action to the bird lures but no wings to bend or break, I'd love to see you do a series, or even just one video using three different sizes of the Jitterbug. Could be FUN!
Just as I was about to get productive on a Saturday morning, nahhh 😂
😂😂😂 facts
Bingo
Same 😂😂
Between this and Richard Gene the fishing machine…the wife’s too do list might have to be on hold today…Lol
@@skynet9483😂😂😂🎉🎉
by far my favorite fishing channel, no stupid intros and stuff, just fishing.

man i love your videos, you are so calm and don’t scream. thanks for having us in your kayak.
Coffee... breakfast... top water
Happy Saturday!!!
Your videos are absolutely the best! Keep doing what you’re doing……. Thank you Matt!!! 👍🎣
Awesome start to any day. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Dude your fishing videos should be listed as therapeutic.
For real.
Very calming and relaxing for sure!
I'm always amazed at the number of quality fish you catch on each outting. Heck, i'm lucky i see one of those every few outtings.
It must be nice to live where there is so much quality fishing and so few out there doing it. Part of what makes these videos so relaxing is the lack of company. No better afternoon than to be on a calm nice looking body of water with a bunch of mouths to feed!
That looked like an awesome time on the water , thanks for sharing .

My river smallies rarely come back a second time to hit a topwater, much less a third time. Good stuff!
You make me feel relaxed when I watch your videos. Thanks for some of the best videos I have ever seen. Keep up the Great work.

So fun at the 5:00 mark when the bird lands, you can see the fish wake, I was counting down the seconds waiting on the eventual blow up.

You got me in the first half, I'm not going to lie. I feel that last sentence for sure.
thatta boy 😬👌
😂 right? Confidence spike through Matt just to get skunked hardcore. He makes it look so easy haha.
Never gets old does it......good job👍
Talk about prime topwater conditions! Grey skies, calm as ever, zero wind... Man, that's a dream day.
I’m glad those clouds stuck around! The forecast said 95 that day but the clouds kept it tolerable.
Another solid day of fishing. Great video once again 👍
Another classic from the best fishing vids creator on RUclips!
Great video as always. I need to try one of those birds. Action looks amazing.
Absolutely love the top water!
Great video!!! I really love your videos. Makes me feel like I'm right there!!
Quality video with quality fish. It does not get any better! ♥
Another exciting video, Matt! That bird lure really generated some awesome topwater action, I enjoyed every moment, take care and be safe!

Another great video and that last bite was crazy.
Great way to start a Saturday morning 😌
I’ve recently been catching some baby bass (like 1/2 pounders ) on the fly rod. Just waiting for April pre spawn
Matt love your videos and I think your logo is great. Thanks!
That jump at 10:30 was epic.
new meditation fishing video, just what i needed☺
Just another great video, with good fish.
Another awesome trip...thanks for sharing it with us!
Always fun to watch someone, flip the bird, in the morning😅

Man you ask for a better outing than that, new lake n a bird lure and still caught Hella nice fish!!! Frickin Awesome!
Another great video! Love how you keep your hooks sharp!
Ithis man is the reason i love fishing
Great as always!!!
What a perfect day for top water fishin, Great Video!
That first strike happened so fast, that never happened in California whenever I went fishing.
😄👍
Another fantastic video.
Absolutely cracking video, love your respect for your catch.....none of the 'just throw them back' approach. Regards from England.
Great video mate topwater fishing is awesome
Very nice day! 👍
Jimmy Houston, the Lindner gang, etc tip their hat to you. Damn you're good!
As a lure junkie, of course i have some of these in both sizes 😂 cool baits, and get some violent strikes at times
Best video bro. Nice catch and Will you all the best 😊
Topwaters make fishing so much more exciting. I make glidebaits, jerkbaits and topwaters as a side hobby. I may have sent ya one in the mail as a thank you for the awesome vids sir! Hope ya don’t mind!
Inspiration - Thanks!
Another fantastic video. Thanks!
Matt you rock! Peace
You got a Smuggler I killing Largemouth with that a few years ago 👍

Nice catch 👍
Flippin’ the bird… I see what you did there 👌
Nothing gets by you…. 😂
@@chubbrock659😅😅
That cool good stuff 👌 👍 😎
When I saw that truck, I thought you were back at the traffic lake with all the road noise. Nice fishin’.
Thanks Matt
I have a few chasebait lures. Great stuff. But I think they decided to stop selling in the US.
Let's try a new lake , with. Crazy lure , and then just tear em up ! I love !
The guy that told me I should try this lake fishes the Whopper Plopper quite a bit there so I figured another noisy topwater lure should catch a few!
We had the same thought at the same time in the video. GO to the other side. I, too, based it on the look of the water
You should try the megabass sleeper craw if you haven't tried it already...
8:45 is insane!
Keep up the great work
Sou pescador e seu fã aqui do Brazil meus parabéns que Deus continue te abençoando no seu canal
thank you!
Love the content man !
Every time you said "bird lure" I heard "burglar". You stoled the show though. 😊
so it would be an added "cost" to the maker of that lure to add some kind of stiffening support to those wings, which is why they didn't bother... but it shouldn't have any adverse effect on the action if you were to maybe use crazy glue or an epoxy to glue something on that backside of the wings to make them more ridged and less likely to bend... something stiff and lightweight... maybe even 1 or 2 toothpicks?... and use the crazy glue / baking soda trick (you can find that on RUclips)
Have to wonder if a retro Heddon Crazy Crawler or a Jitterbug would have the same amount of luck
I've been watching your channel for about a year now. I've seen you use rat lures and bird lures to catch fish, as well as of course other types of topwaters, but never ye old Jitterbug. I have a couple someone sent me I’ve been meaning to use. I caught a ton of fish on them when I was a kid!
@@ndyakangler me too! ..but do you have one of the 1 1/2" ones? "BIG LIKE RAT!"
