I was here when GW slayed Warhammer 40k.
You have to wonder if the writer of the codex doesn't have something against Henry Cavil. He's stated a bunch of times that Custodes are his favourite army. He's also been subjected to accusations of misogyny and He's been a staunch defender of franchises sticking to and respecting pre-established lore.
Then they just happen to retcon and change lore, to the custodes, to add women into it. It seems to coincidental for it to be just chance.

I saw on Instagram defending this, and when someone brought up the old codex, they said it doesn't count cause it's old. If this doesn't count then that means every edition is a different timeline in the 40k universe. Get ready for some stupid lore in the future. First female custodes then female space marines then the Emperor was actually a woman. Give them an inch they take the whole country.
I think they have mentioned in a HH book, that the Emperor has been both male and female throughout time.

Just a friendly reminder that all of your models no matter what faction you play are compatible with one page rules grimdark future game. The base rules and army rules are free, if you wanna get fancier than that it'll cost you a few bucks.

This has been a massive disappointment. Warhammer is basically my only social interaction. While I won’t give up the game I will be using alternative sources for models. Spent an hour or so searching for models for a Tzeench army I was planning on building.
@SchalaZeal1 While I did help introduce some of them to Malifaux I don’t have that amount of influence in the group and most of them won’t care about the change. Best I can do is stick to my principles and let them do what they want. I’ve already dropped the atomic mass games I’m not giving up the ones I’ve been playing the longest.

I was going to add to the "It was better than when I started."
Me: No. Not even. it was much better when I started. I started on I think 5th edition and I really liked it despite the crap that was to come. I've seen the changes over the years and man has it gotten a lot worse. The hobby felt so much more engaging and the setting felt so different and awesome compared to the modern slop it's devolved into. Thank goodness for 3D printers to make this hobby worth it without continuing with GW. This alone has made me enjoy Warhammer stuff again while not consooooming new product.

5th was when the dumb fluff rewrites began. At least 5th just kiddified the fluff, it didn't pander to people who don't even want to play the game
It's never about representation, it's about the domination of an IP to push their agenda.
40k is already filled to the brim with female representation, from female exclusive factions to incredibly important named characters.
GW have outed themselves as either Slaaneshi or Tzeentchian cultists.

It's a simple thing at the end of the day. Why embrace this bastardization of what this is to become? This isn't Warhammer. This is Pander-hammer. And it makes no sense to me for them to embrace the player base for so long (who are overwhelmingly normal-minded people just trying to enjoy a hobby, rather than those who must inject politics into everything), and now they're kicking all of us in the balls and trying to gaslight us even...
Make it make sense. Even with me being the massive fan of Warhammer that I have been, short of the video games (like Darktide, Vermintide 2, Space Marine 2, and Warhammer Total War 3), I'm done with Warhammer as a whole.
It's especially annoying and upsetting because I have always been a fan of Warhammer since I was young. My Dad was the one who got me into it. He's been a nerd about it since Rogue Trader, and even he's dropping it.

FYI - that share price drop was the lowest GW stock had been in... oh actually just 5 days. And it's recovered. Guess there's nothing to see here after all.
