2. No items in battle*
3. No glitches or exploits*
4. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
Other rules:
-- *Pokeballs & Pokedolls are allowed in battle

-- If the solo Pokemon faints and I choose to blackout it counts towards my reset counter
*Double-Team:
-- Almost every Pokemon can learn Double-Team through TM
-- The TM can be purchased in Celadon
-- Using it would centralize the meta
-- Every Pokemon would use it to overcome tough battles at lower levels
-- It raises evasion
-- It triggers the badge boost
-- Banning the TM allows Pokemon who learn it through level up to use it
-- I believe evasion is part of Pokemon and shouldn't be banned entirely
-- I don't want the videos to all be double-team spam though, that's not fun or entertaining

-- Gen 1 Crit Rates: www.smogon.com/rb/articles/cr...

-- High crit rate moves determine their rate by dividing base speed by 64
-- All crits have a 1/256 to fail, even if the rate is 100%
-- Crits don't multiple damage by 2, it's a formula based on level

He protecc and he attacc but most important he use leek to whacc.
Take my like dammit!
Don’t you mean leecc?
@@DaermaeonBranKor how did I miss that??
Hahaha I love the internet
But even better is the ground type who uses a bone to Marrow Whacc
I really love the little edits you've been doing to the Pokemon portraits, it really gives them some real personality.
The whole presentation has really come a long way!
Casted Scott's video to my TV for the first time and it looked lovely
Me too! It's so cool and shows how much love he (and the editor!) put in their videos
Agreed. I haven't seen anyone put in work like this with all the stats and movesets. The overlay and portraits are 12/10
I’m thinking about this sort of thing! I want the videos to have enough visual interest that they draw your attention in and maybe earn a spot on a TV here and there! Hopefully more improvements are still to come
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon you earn a spot on my TV all the time. Your videos are first choice for meal times.
I love Farfetch'd's portrait with its little anger mark. You've been killing it with these runs lately and the little portrait changes throughout are a little detail that while not necessary is immensely appreciated. Let's see if a deathless run is Farfetch'd or if Brock will send our bird ducking for cover,
Fun Confusion damage tidbit, Deoxys' attack form can OHKO itself with confusion damage even without set up.
In fact if it has max attack and minimum defence and HP and can deal enough damage to kill itself twice over, even without having +6 attack and -6 defence!
Omg, that's so funny.
Deoxys attack is supposed to kill things in one hit
Task failed successfully
How about Pheromosa?
There actually is a way to keep the SS Anne around. You wipe out to a trainer on the boat after grabbing Cut, and it sends you back to the Pokemon Center; skipping the cutscene that has the boat sailing away. The result is the boat never setting sail.
You can also dig/ escape rope /teleport
I really enjoy the optimized runs, it’s so satisfying to see the mon overcome its obstacles and get its best time. Also nice illustrations throughout!
Since the Blaine's gym questions were mentioned: in FR/LG they changed the Caterpie question to ask if it evolves into Metapod instead of Butterfree, presumably to make it less ambiguous which answer they were looking for. The Poliwag question is unchanged though, but at least that one's wording is unambiguous, albeit misleading.
The production value on these videos is great. Also, similar to jrose, your voice and chilled out manner make these videos very relaxing.
Thanks so much!
"In Celadon I Sell a ton" made my day xD
I appreciate, "In Celadon, I sell a ton." It made me feel good brain things.
14:15 I love the intro in Koga's fights because the animation synchronizes so well with the music; it's so satisfying 😊.
I think about this. The Lance intro for GSC I’m particularly proud of
Gen 1 Rock Throw is still my biggest personal Mandella Effect. As a kid in 3rd/4th grade, to me it was obvious Rock Throw was weaker but accurate, and Rock Slide was powerful but missed more. Hell, I remember specifically keeping Rock Throw instead because I didn't want to miss. Never thought much of it. Played Gen 1 on cartridge all through maybe once every 2 years until I swapped to nuzlocking around 2015. Just used Rock Throw normally when I got Geodude, which was fairly often (did like 10-15 runs of R/B when learning to nuzlocke). Never noticed it missing more than I would expect. Then recently watching some Pokemon content (possibly yours) I hear that Rock Throw is 65% accurate in Gen 1. This is wild to me, as I somehow spent my whole life using Rock Throw and having it used on me in Gen 1 never getting frustrated at it missing a lot or noticing that it didn't hit my Pokemon that often. I am convinced I am from an alternate reality where Rock Throw was 100% accurate in MY RBY...
Mandela-effect is bullshit.
@@oholibama8888 Was a joke my dude hah
When I was young (at the beginning of the pokemon anime) I believed that Farfetch'd evolved into Doduo... because the official sticker album said so. After all Farfetch'd comes before Doduo and Dodro... and it is a bird and it has only one head (so one, two and three-headed pokemon) and it cannot fly (or can it?). I didn't have a Game Boy and so couldn't know from the game how wrong I was..
Your side bar stuff like the stats tracker, the Pokémon avatar, and the move pool you really do a great job.
I kind of like the idea of a Pokemon being so rare not because it's a highly sought creature but because it's a delicacy and it's just really bad at not getting caught by people who want to eat it
Bruh I can't watch this vid right now but I am HYPED! My boy DUX is HERE! The man, the myth, the LEGEND! Freakin' love Farfetch'd!
As one of my favorite Kanto Pokémon, I am STOKED for this video!
Each time I see Farfetch'd (which I kinda love) I remember when I went to the local Pokémon Championships in Frankfurt, Germany in 2000. One of the finalists of the Pokémon Cup (only a certain choice of Pokémon between lv 50 and 55) battled with Farfetch'd and Porygon. I (around 13y old) was so baffled and thought "Wow, are non-evolving Pokémon that strong!?"
No. No, they aren't. And to this day I have no idea how that guy became finalist and/or if his choice in the finals was a bet or something...
"In Celadon i sell-a-ton" gosh i love you for that word play. It's little details like this that make your videos so entertaining
I love how there's always something new to focus on or look at on the screen while the gameplay is going on. My adhd really enjoys hopping around to multiple things in the video, I can't sit and watch something typically this long, but with these videos and the new edits, there's always something to look at. I've been trying to find another poketuber that even comes close and with all of the intricate details you put in your videos, but just nothing else hits the same. Thanks for all the content, you are a legend.
Yup. That’s what I want! Give you something to visually digest at all points!
I sleep to your videos because they are just really nice to listen to and it can really help me sleep and I’ve watched so many now I had to scroll allll the way down here from your most recent video to find one I haven’t seen. And even then below this video is still like all seen I just somehow missed this one. Gonna have to start rewatching them soon. Thanks for the awesome content man
I started watching Pokemon challenges with jrose but since I bump into your channel you have become my favorite, the effort you put into your videos is astonishing and I love the little quality of life things you add to your videos. Thanks for putting out amazing content.
You’re welcome! I’m dedicated to making it better!
i like Farfetch'd cause he comes with seasoning, that's really thoughtful
Once again, my family and I love when we see the new videos come out! I grew up playing these generations and your videos have opened up my kids wanting to play them with me. It's been really cool seeing how you have progressed and improved with your gameplay. Also, I really like how you have the Pokémon's stats on the side. As always, thanks for the amazing videos!
Omg your Farfetch'd pics changing now and then are so adorable!
Sarina did a great job drawing them!
Farfetch'd has always been in my top 5 of gen 1! I also did a "solo" playthrough with it when I was a kid; only I had to wait until I reached Cerulean to actually get it.
The exp bonus from the trade probably made it way better than in this video, though.
Me too! I was so glad when it finally got an evolution. Sirfetch'd is so cool
Wow, I wasn't expecting Farfetch'd to do so well, good job Dux
Of course Fly was super effective against Venemoth. It is a grass type.
No bug
@@cyanideytandcuriousseadogg4160 no grass

I really love your content, I’ve been kinda binging your stuff since I found it (hence my comments keep popping up as of late)- your videos are extremely calming to me, I’m glad you didn’t give up on making this content. Being sappy because when I watched this I was feeling real off and it helped.
Hey Milo, I'm having a tough day today. Reading this comment really made me happier. It's nice to know that my content has a calming effect that seems to be helpful! Thanks for returning the favour.
Its really commendable the rate at which you r pumping out these long vids ..... without compromise in quality with such consistency
It's awesome watching that sub number keep climbing; you deserve it! You're the man, Scott!
Absolutely love the little pokemon expression edits. That and the Kabutops edit on top in the beginning. Fantastic work as always. Glad you revisited this strange leeky duck.
Farfetch'd was my favorite and still is my 2nd favorite Pokemon of all time. Have been waiting for this video for sure!
Bro I love your content! Please keep at it! You are very humble and fun.
Thanks so much! I will keep at it, don't worry!
I don't think I've mentioned this before but your animations for gym/important battles are hella clean. Love the work you do
Literally learning how to master every pokemon. You have the highest commitment of any pokemon player. There should be a trophy.
Hi from England! Love these videos man, I often have trouble sleeping and I often watch your vids to help me relax and feel calm ) cheers for all the hard work!
Thanks Matt! Glad they help you relax :)
These playthroughs really have made me appreciate pokemon like farfetch'd. It certainly does much better than i would have thought
Yeah, using it made me appreciate it too!
Now that you are getting into the grove of this and having a lot more fun I can really tell the quality of the work is improving. Loved the video and the improved run!
I’ve never used Farfertched in any Pokemon. It’s one of the Pokemon I always overlook and forget exists. Great play through, enjoying your content 👍🏻
My friday just got better with you uploading. Thanks.
Best pokemon content on youtube rn. Hope the page is growing !
Yeeees, come to cult of Farfetch'd! I love this thing so much. I always get the one you can trade for and use it all the way to the E4. As a kid, I'd always use Slash, but as the years went on, I changed to Bodyslam. I actually remember using Rest too. Setting up SD and watching everything fall is just too much fun. I'm glad you revisited the little guy!
This is an awesome redo! Always makes my Friday to watch 🔥🔥
Thanks JKFaulk, I’m glad I can make your Fridays! Thanks for leaving a comment and making mine :)
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon ahh that’s awesome to hear! Anything I can do to help you grow! I’ve watched for over a year, but never realized how these small things help so much!
I am most impressed of the little duck stew being so consistent.
This run was way more fun then I imagined. Nice one Scott 👍
Glad to see the duck boi do well, it may be absolute trash in terms of stats but I love the cute little guy anyway!
nice editing. your growth is really showing. great job! love emotes of farfetch'd in the sidebar :D
I just recently discovered your channel and I wanted to let you know that I really like the format and visuals you use. The real-time stats from the game ROM was genius
Hey Fractales15, glad you enjoy the format and visuals! The real-time stats took awhile to get right, but I’m so happy I stuck with it!
Playthrough Rules:
1. Only my starter in battle
2. No items in battle*
3. No glitches or exploits*
4. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
(5. Must use Body Slam)
I really excited for this one, I loved Farfetchd as a kid because of how rare it was and it's move pool, and was so happy when it got a regional form. I really hope he does at least decently
Love the vids, and your production values are great! Keep it up!
The Samurai duck in an artistic display of calculated violence achieves a masterful, zero-reset, top of the A tier performance. You don't need stats when you can wield a leek like that. If the Samurai scored any higher, it would only prove possession of some unfair advantage. No, the Samurai showed how you can dominate without an inherent stat advantage. The skillful swords dance, the well-practiced agility, the Samurai's moves are unparalleled.
I always wanted to see Farfetch'd dominate, and you really did it. Pretty fun in Crystal, too, since you can get a leek as a held item. Then when you use Fury attack, you have an increased chance that at least one of the hits will crit.
I love the art at the beginning of major battles..Its cool to visualize Scott and his little farfetchd against beefy teams like Giovanni's
Sick run! The big improvement with the early rare candies and more training was so cool to see
Yeah! I was happy with the last run :)
"In celadon I sell a ton", loved that one 😂
Amazing video as always!!
This was your best video yet
Glad to see you are a man of culture and gave Farfetch'd the proper nickname in Dux
Indeed! Dux is the only nickname it can have in gen 1!
18:36 Scott's Thoughts: Says what he'll do
Blaine: *ah-hum I can hear you*
50:20
I always make it to the end because YOU'RE incredible ❤️ thank you for all you do
This was seriously a great run! :) Going to agree on the portrait changes. Your commentary was great :)
Part of me would love to see the alternate universe where the Self-Destructing Hiker became an Elite 4 member instead of the current Hiker.
Shoutout to Venomoth being the first type-fluid Pokemon.
I would've found it funny in a "Crosses The Line Twice" way if when you were walled by Blaine, Farfetch'd's icon changed to a Roast Duck dinner.
Best one yet. Video editing on point, commentary on point with no filler. Knowledge of pokemon was near on perfect. The 0 loss run was earned well. Keep it up.
I just didn't hear a joke about your girlfriends, flying, psychic type venomoth.
Clearly Rock/fire type Venomoth. Obviously not Psychic type.
Farfetch'd is one of my favorite Gen1 Pokémon 😎
Farfetch'd is probably my favorite Kanto Pokémon! Great video.
Let's go, Farfetch'd destroyed everyone. Duck Supremacy.
Farfetch'd is my 3rd favorite mon because of the design and the way he carried himself. Really happy to see this playthrough.
It's indeed something about the way he carries himself. Very likable pokemon.
Nice to see you redoing your older videos with your new skills.
It’s very satisfying
Im going to predict Brock split is at least an hour.
update: i was completely wrong. didnt realize Dux' starting move set
I really like that farfetchd on the left side changes constantly its mood xD
I’ve always loved farfech’d since I was a kid. What a little goober. Needs more love.
So true! It needs more love.
guys scott is a fckin legend. he still reads comments on 1 year old videos and answers to so many comments overall. hes really reading most if not all of them. hes either really trying to stay in touch with us or hes just really loving doing these videos or both. but anyway he deserves our support so plz comment and like all his videos you watched and liked :) and if only for the sake of the algorithm so that more ppl will see his videos :D
hes providing so much information on everything thats happening its worth watching. so much to learn from if youre playing pokemon ^^
and scott i think you lvling so much early wasnt a waste of time since you later needed to even use rare candys. lvling while it was so easy early could have been the right move. gotta make use of its strong moments to prepare for its weak moments.
1) I want to stay in touch with all of you
2) I really do love doing these challenges
3) I love reading comments because they help me learn new things about the games
4) the suggestions and criticism helps me make my videos better!
Damn S.T. You motivate me and us viewers the most each week now. We wait each week for content… but wait… it’s Friday and one is out again 👏🏻🙌🏻 mvp
Fun fact: the reason 3 of the first 4 gens gym 1 type is rock, because it gives the player a 2/3 chance of an easier time based on the normal starters.
Also makes sense since gen 3&4 fire starters are fighting types by lvl up, so all 3 starters have an advantage
@@AxDuncan2635 true!
I would like an Ice-type gym leader to be the first gym leader: this also has the property of having 2/3 types do well against it, with Fire types hitting Ice super effectively and Fire and Water types resisting Ice damage.
It is also such that Ice is only really good against Pokémon with limited options, so early game would be perfect.
Noctowls for the Blood god. Dennis for the Skull Throne.
I can’t think of a good quip and all the puns are in the comments already. Thanks for another fun run!
Lets go. Thanks for all those nice vids!
Haha I love the portrait for the self-destructing hiker!
My favorite pokemon! I love this little guy, hopefully its movepool helps it keep up with the other guys!
your content has incredible production value
Thanks! I'm working everyday to make it better! Glad it's come this far :)
This is definitely an interesting pokémon to complete "Pokémon Yellow" with.
The stat increasing moves are definitely good.
Lovely content as always.
I don't have much else to say (not that much into analysing myself, just love watching and listening to you play), sorry, commenting for support.
I love your method. Very entertaining videos!
Thanks so much! Glad you’re enjoying :)
Love the Farfetch'd portrait!
The Rapping Lass, Pokefan, Exploding Hiker, and I guess the Pidgey trainer are like the Midseason Elite 4
So true.
When I first played Pokémon Blue as a dumb child, for some reason Farfetch’d was the only Pokémon I actually used on my team besides my Charizard. I’m not sure what inspired me to get this thing’s level up into the 50’s, but here’s to you DUX.
This is far fetched enough to become good entertainment.
Heyo!
Cool run! Interesting use of dux’s upside to get the wanted result
Oh man! This is gonna be awesome! I love farfetch'd! I'm so happy to see It getting another go!!!
HOLY COW!
Man I can't wait for replays of these pokemon
Scotts Thoughts (sees a Venomoth) "What type are you?" VenoGod "Yes"
I really like your approach of multiple runs and testing for improvements.
I think you're my favourite pokemon player now.. (sorry jrose)
Scott, it's been amazing watching the channel grow! I'm looking to moving to other regions!
Farfetch'd enjoyers were rewarded in Sword and Shield when the little guy evolves into a gigachad
Dude the back sprite for Farfetch’d looks like it’s holding a straw and I can’t unsee it.
hey Scott, hope all is well. I always thought this Pokémon was a bit quirky, but it did very well. Another great video, keep it up!!!
The reason why Farfetch'd's stats are probably so bad is because it's a visual pun on the concept of a green swordsman (green as in new or rookie). It's why it uses an leek as a weapon, as that plays into the image because green swordsmen also comically use leeks. This concept is perhaps best exemplified by the translation of the starting class of the original Final Fantasy III: the Onion Knight.
So his stats are bad but he's got a lot of potential to make up for it in his move-set. This is also why Farfetch'd learns Arial Ace in later gens, because its Japanese name is Swallow Cutter, which is a sword technique.
Serfetched was on my Pokemon Sword team, can't you tell?
that blaine fight is just "Pokemon Yellow but the RNG hates you edition"
I wish I hadn't looked this Bulbapedia article up, good lord - "According to sources such as the anime and the Pocket Monsters Encyclopedia, its population decline is caused by humans who hunted it down for food; one popular recipe suggested cooking it with its own leek"
Clearly why I couldn’t find it as a kid
Gyrados vs Tentacruel that be a good one there. Scott you’re doing an awesome job!
Tentacruel is going to be such a beast. That thing seems unfair. Only downside is the poison typing...
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon I think you may be surprised with Gyarados he gets access to FireBlast, Blizzard, Thunder, and Hydropump! With 125atk and 100special! And he starts with DragonRage which is basically one hit ko’s up until Lt. Surge!
It’s too bad that Gyarados gets access to Earthquake in gen 3 and up. That would make him most powerful in pkmn yellow
I got a new challenge idea: Can you beat R/B with GOOD AI? If a move is super effective, you have to use it and can't use any other.
Alternative: Can you beat it with Random AI?
This is going to be rough, you have stab slash and some great stat boosting moves, but Farfetch'd doesn't have the bulk to really take advantage of them. In gen 2 he was a decent baton passer and nothing more. It should make for an entertaining challenge. Good luck with Brock and Lorelei :)
Also good luck vs exploding hiker.
Unfortunately slash is actually a detriment with swords dance, it can learn body slam though!
I'm predicting toxic, rest, reflect/swords dance/agility, and fly. Each boosting move helps with longevity in some way, toxic should make Onix trivial, Swords Dance would help most against Lorelei. Depending on how much Gyarados is doing reflect might be best but it does mean not ohkoing the rest of the team. Aerodactyl will always resist unless hydro pump is mimic'd (maybe mimic, swords dance, rest, fly vs lance).
and in Gen 3 it gets Steel Wing. nice for Rock types at least. those steel types in the post game still have no answer but Aerial Ace and Knock off were otherwise good additions.
