    FAQ from the video:
    Why Rock Slide and not Earthquake?
    I'm so used to Rock/Ground as a dual type that I always assume Rock Slide is better against Koga/Lorelei etc. Honestly just a mistake, Earthquake is better because of accuracy in most of these cases.
    Jrose11 posted Dugtrio on the same day, did we coordinate it?
    Nope, I had no idea and was surprised by the coincidence just like everyone else. Check his Dugtrio video out here: • How Fast Can You Beat ...

    Also since so many different creators are having solo challenge runs of individual mons now, why haven't we created a real meta yet, or started speedrunning gen 1 with different mons, red and blue alone would get you 151 new speedrun categories, add yellow and it's double!
    I think we have enough dedicated fans to create a niche solo speedrun meta.

    I never usually comment on youtube videos, but just figured I'd say that Venomoth has always been my favourite pokemon, and so the running gag of Venomoth being forgettable tickles me. Venomoth is that same kind of ugly-but-cute which makes pugs so endearing, plus it's such an underdog success story in competitive play (going from almost useless in Generation 1-3, to being a huge beneficiary of the physical/special split in Generation 4, to getting Quiver Dance in Generation 5). The various expressions Diglett has during the video are so cute. aaaaaa
    Someone has probably already mentioned this but for mono-Ground types, an SE Rock Slide has 150 base power, the same as a neutral Earthquake. There will definitely be times where its good to use to conserve Dig or Earthquake PP, but Earthquake does the same amount of damage without accuracy issues which would for example make Koga more consistent. Rock Slide doesn't even have a chance to flinch in Gen I (?????) either. It's possible this is a Gen I thing though, Gen I is so interesting mechanically but its a lot to remember.
    These videos have been so much fun to watch, I've even booted up the games myself on my spare time and done runs on my own with less of an emphasis on speed though.

    First off, love the vids. Secondly, I love how you prioritize real time instead of In game time. Jrose does in game timr and you use real time, as well as slight version differences makes the runs feel quite unique. Not saying one Is better than the other as a metric but it’s cool to see people measure different onrs

    Yay, I really enjoyed the digglet's animations, it was adorable 😊, you should definitely do that with onter pokemon.
    Digglet has everything you need for a solo playthrough, it's fast and can one hit almost every pokemon with cirt luck, or with stab damage.
    And forgot to say that, the final battle with professor oak was really good, and had a lot of luck involved😅.
    Fissure is really good when you have one of the most fastest pokemon in the game, and you could always teach earthquake via tm after Lorelei, but it would have costed you with more resets though, so I get why most people won't use it. 😊
    By the way, I really enjoyed that video. Thanks for making me have a great time, you're incredible for making these videos. 😁

Good luck. thanks for the content.. :) oh and a nother fact. when you lose to the grunt on nugget bridge you can farm nuggets.. its an error in the code and can help to speed up grinding cash for midgame, coins, vitamins and tm's

    Great video, as always. I loved what was obviously a movie reference when you called Pidgeot by Pidgeotto. One of the trainers that makes it to Mewtwo's island says "I flew over on Pidgeotto's back" when he clearly has a Pidgeot. (I'm pretty sure he also claims that all of his pokemon are water types, despite the presence of a Nidoqueen on his team.) Anyway, keep up the good work!

    I love Pokémon challenge channels especially gen 1 as it is so unique with the glitches/bugs and so nostalgic. Don’t get me wrong, the newer generations offer a lot more in terms of strategy, challenge, etc. but when channels like yours and Jrose can come up with new and exciting ideas for a 25 year old game I grew up with… nuff said

    • @ScottsThoughtsPokemon
      @ScottsThoughtsPokemon  2 года назад +1

    I was surprised that Diglett didn't completely suck hard. I really thought the bad defense and abysmal HP would prove more of a hindrance. Really love the small changes from one video to the next. The changing image of Diglett throughout was a nice touch. I don't know how you could make your videos even better, but somehow you still manage to do just that.

  • @justsomejojo
    @justsomejojo 2 года назад

    It was interesting seeing Diglett and Dugtrio posted so close to each other. Makes it easy to compare them. They feel like they are really good for a time, but also peak very early whenever I use them. They demolish so much stuff when you can usually catch them because Gen1 Dig is just that good coupled with high speed, but it's also the strongest they'll ever be and once the mons get bulkier and survive, they are in trouble. That's how it usually goes when I use it on full teams with less exp to go around anyway.
